Will Twitter go the way of Myspace eventually?
Will Twitter go the way of Myspace eventually?
More like Reddit going the way of Digg.
Yes as will all of social media. It's just a fad.
>tfw will never design the next big social-media site and sell it for a billion
If they continue the censorship and continue to not make a profit then yeah
How complex can Twitter's infrastructure be that no one else can make another?
It's basically one big message board for people with short attention spans.
99.9% of value is user base and brand name.
In other words the company is utterly fucking worthless aside from its infrastructure.
They create echo chamber and propaganda, so its not useless at all.
Infrastructure means little on the internet.
>do people want to use your website
>did you so something to make people not want to use your website
Wow so hard, much change, worth billions.
It's IM messages saved on a server, that's shit we could do in the 1990s.
But there's no real value and no reason someone couldn't come along and make a better propaganda website.
Yes, i'm short NYSE:TWTR.
it'll be replaced by the next "fad"
the fact is their business model was not designed with all this censoring and filtering in mind.
The stock took a dive the other day when @Jack's twitter was banned by their new system.
The more they move away from their core business and are forced to work on these "extras" the more venerable the whole company gets.
not massively complicated.
just very costly.
isn't the easiest way to damage twitter to start a mass exodus?
#WhyImLeavingTwitter
> we could do in the 1990s.
ish. the app made the difference. i doubt it would have been much of a success on dial up.
users wouldn't switch for more propaganda.
users won't switch without critical mass.
Yes, twitter is something that must be surpassed.
Twitter is still good for some open source projects, but even that feels like it's dying. I wish there were a better alternative, but there really isn't. My fear is that twitter death will just send everyone (back?) to facebook, where I and many other open source spergs refuse to go.
Something more usable will replace it, yes.
Its trending to take over Facebook soon. The only reason why Facebook is more popular now is because the baby boomers don't understand Twitter so they are sticking to Facebook.
However, millennials are jumping ship to Twitter at an alarming rate.
Twitter stock is over valued
Twitter app s hopeing a great GE company buys it for billions of dollars
Twitter stock is the Zimbabwe currency of stocks
If Snapchat or some other newcomer take its place, yes.
Snapchat should really do a profile public message board thing beside their private stuff somehow to btfo Twitter, screencap this.
They want Disney to buy Twitter for 13 billion dollars
I don't think any company is for ng to pay 9-13 billion for Twitter like Twitter's investors are dreaming of
Facebook soon I hope
Twitter doesn't even generate profit they constantly need new investors to keep it afloat
sooner or later, yes. and i can't wait for it.
The problem isn't that no one could clone Twitter.
The problem is that there is no way to make it profitable. The only reason Twitter still exists is because investors are pumping tons of money into it so they can continue using it for social engineering.
And Twitter is asking too much money for interested buyers
Twitter wanted Disney to buy it for 13 billion.
Twitter stock is a ponzi scam
More investors pumped even more money into Twitter recently
Twitter is a sinking ship to investors
#twittergate
Twitter stock is the ship that keeps sinking
Funny considering they think Disney is anti semitic.
Finance user here
TWTR makes no revenue and is destined to be bought out (DIS was mulling buying them, but nobody wants the piece of shit company)
is twitter even profitable?
I hope you're right. Its ruining the west in a BIG BIG way. I cant see it though - its such a good control and spying mechanism.
If pol focused on crashing Twitter's stock for a month straight we would see it's shares drastically plunge.
You can boycott Pepsi or kellogs but someone will buy their products.
Twitter is absolutely a ponzi scheme.
I wouldn't be surprised Weibo (chinese twitter) was actually profitable.
The problem is that no one in silicon valley wants to make a solid buck. It's all either Bill Gates style genius or a scam.
