Ramps have been obsolete for 40 years.
The only thing ramps do is cut down on costs by getting rid of the need for a catapult system. They drastically reduce the maximum takeoff weight of an aircraft, reduce the number of aircraft that can be stored on deck and therefore sortie times, and are all around pretty fuckin worthless.

We're blocking them coming in, per capita I believe you guys have taken a lot more. I don't like it however there is a palpable shift - i'm at university and through conversation you can begin to tell we're shifting right. It's good. We're not there but a war might do it. Also i'd enlist if it were to happen - sounds dumb but beats the mundaneness of life right now.
The world needs to shift and change - we haven't had a big event in too long - china screwing up could be it, If it happens i'd like to be a part of it with my fellow Brits.

As bad as it sounds, I fucking love the sound of that news. So when you say it sounds as if things are shifting "right" on campus, what do you mean exactly? Does anyone you know actually mention how white people within Europe are being replaced through immigration and birthrates?

People are just sick of people being obscenely left wing - try and censor someone verbally here and you'll be told to fuck off. Everyone here openly jokes about everything again and it feels like we're not descending into some nightmare full of social justice. I just told you all of the problems with ramps. They're fucking useless. They reduce the combat effectiveness of the carrier and the aircraft launched from it, just to save a few shekels.
All other things equal, two carriers going head to head, one with a ramp and one with a catapult system, the catapult will win every time. They can launch aircraft faster, with more munitions, can recover and refit the aircraft faster, and can store more aircraft on board.
