You want to avoid the stick unless its needed
How? He's still not in the White House yet.
Thing is, though, that now that Trump's established this precedent, any factory in the Midwest can now make a bit of noise about offshoring jobs (without actually meaning it) specifically to goad Trump and Pence into giving them tax cuts.
Trump moved on Carrier like a bitch and got grabbed in his pussy
He's not President yet dumb dumb.
Because this wastes more money and sets a precedent so he can destroy the world and initiate his ZOG
Lol, let every single company get 700k/yr if it means they keep jobs in the US
700k/yr to give 1000 people 30k/yr jobs is a net benefit, idiot
>Moved like a bitch
>Secured 300Mil US dollars worth of taxable income
Sounds like you're wrong, my friend
That's Trump's platform dude.
Tax cuts for businesses here and and tariffs for business that leave.
This is nothing new.
Why is this so hard to understand?
Company gets tax cuts= company has more money
Company has more money = company can hire more employees/afford to keep existing employees
Trump has been saying he'd give tax cuts all around throughout his campaign. Why is this a surprise to anyone?
They're just shills who are disappointed Trump's getting work done with diplomacy instead of fascism like they expected
It's much easier to pretend Trump failed than accept that he's already making good deals and he isn't even the POTUS
30 million not 300. And those jobs are shit.
>tax the workers so we can get a tax break like the greddy jews that they are
Nice one
When has this ever worked? Our corporate rates are 15%. Yours are 39. We have much higher unemployment than you
Did you miss the press statement from the Carrier factory in Indiana? He threatened the fuck out of them in their own house.
This company is making billions of dollars why the fuck do they need 7 million of tax relief????
Good try, buddy. Here's some basic math
>7 million in tax cuts over 10 years = 700USD/yr
>1000 jobs @ 30k/yr = 30mil/yr
Over the life of the investment, the US will have provided 7 mil in tax cuts, but accrued 300 million in taxable revenue
Because providing tax incentives for businesses to stay in the US is a short term investment with long term dividends
Did you liberal fucks even take an econ course?
1100 were lost. 1000 were saved. He will add 25 trillion to your debt. Stock market set to lose 68 trillion next year
2300 were slated to be lost
Trump salvaged 1000, leaving 1300 to go to Mexico
If Trump hadn't have made a deal, we would've lost an estimated 100 million in tax revenue
What happened to the fucking Tough guy tarriffs????????
Huh? Answer me that. We should be threatening these greedy jews
Give an inch they take a mile. Unions are shit. Corporations are honourable. Who says they won't sell you shit because they gotta pay tax on it? Nobody. They either need the workers or they don't. They take your money. Go on vacation. And install robots. Republicans are a shit party of assholes and fuck up the economy every time. Liberal means freedom. Republicans LOVE big government.
Want to take it further? For each factory worker job, 6 support jobs are needed. That's 7000 jobs with a median tax burden of $16k/year, or ~$112m/year tax revenue.
This. It's just a "hurry up" incentive to get businesses and jobs back state side whilst making it just as easy to do it voluntarily.
I have faith.
He is going to blow you trillions of new assholes. Leaving thread now. All for what. 100 jobs? Maybe a net loss? Maybe 1000? Now they will just seek hat in hand and threaten every single time. What a commie
Why are you supporting fascism?
Isn't that what you guys feared Trump would be?
He settled this case without aggressive action
It's called diplomacy and dealmaking, and it's why we elected him
He reminded Carrier of how hard he can fuck them once he's in office and has actual, real power. Play ball, reap this minimal state tax benefit (Pence) and positive PR and keep jobs in Indiana.
It's win-win. It shows Trump can keep a campaign platform after election and businesses know with lowered taxes and regulation it will be much easier to manufacture in the US.
>Why did Trump give Carrier a tax cut instead of threatening tariffs on them (or outright banning them from selling their products in the U.S.) if they left?
Because imposing punitive tariffs is illegal
refer to
It's an investment you dumb nigger. And if you'll refer to , you see that you get a massive return on investment.
7 million is a pretty penny, but you get almost a 4,300% return on investment over 10 years.
Once again, let them vie for 700k/yr tax breaks
If jobs stay in the US, thats a net benefit
Hes a bitch thats backtracking! Every Carrier product produced in mexico are supposed to have a stiff tarriff you REDNECK
If your rates are 15% and ours are 39%, that seems like an awfully good reason for an American company to relocate to Canada.
If both our rates are lowered that motive is diminished, combine that with tariffs, and American companies have more incentive to stay in America rather than relocate.
More companies staying in America => More Jobs for Americans
Good thing Trump isn't a classical Republican then
Because they're back now aren't they?
It's going to take effect once he's sworn in probably.
Good rebuttal! Nice composure! Sick argument!
I look forward to your reply
Honestly I was afraid it would be some crony shit like this. The only way I feel good about this is if he offered them the tax cuts he plans on passing for all corporations. Otherwise it looks like a PR stunt. Good on him for keeping his word. Good on him for doing something to benefit the US. I don't approve of the method though. Time will tell.
Let the Austrians do the shitposting, leaf.
because he hasn't even been sworn in
this is a quick easy win for Trump and America
>you are now aware Burger King is a Canadian company
We already give tax incentives to ALL types of businesses for various reasons.
Do you know that the NFL pays NO TAXES because they are designated as a non profit type corporation or something?
How about all those solar companies -- they get HUGE tax incentives because "muh environment" government programs put in by Odinga.
Keeping jobs here is paramount. We need to do more of this. Its smart.
Is that what a tax cut is? Crazy!
Untill NAFTA is renegotiated that is impossible
>losing 1,300 jobs to Mexico.
>easy win
k
>Trump took 1k jobs out from some poor mexicans
what a shitlord
It's a show of good will
Even better, it's the exact same tax breaks and incentives Indiana was giving them prior to the announced move.
This, and I'll add Trump isn't holding power just yet. Wait until he gets in office to see the most effective policy come into play.
Because he has enough enemies? He needs to provide incentives for companies to stay, not just use protectionism. Contrary to popular belief he isn't a dictator.
You idiot, hes supposed to be tough on sellouts, not a pussy that caves into demands.
Trump was supposed to call their bluff and hit them over the head with Tarriffs if they leave!!! We dont negotiate with the greedy Jew
Correlation is not causation. Your unemployment would probably be higher with a higher tax rate, its just your other policies hurt the labor market.
Almost all economists, neoliberal shill to far-right wingers, agree the corporate tax is shit.
Soon he'll be taking 1k lives out of some poor mexicans too
No, my friend
Your liberal doctrine of making business inhospitable in the US led to corporate inversion
Your worthless ideas sent 2300 jobs to Mexico
Trump brought back 1000
You should be thankful
He needs to get American unions in on a new TPP!!!
Consider the 500% tariff on Chinese cold rolled steel.
>soon
Given that he cannot even keep 2,300 jobs in the country what makes you think he can go after any Mexicans?
You liberals are really fucking fascist
Its like you became the monster you expected Trump to be
If Trump can make a deal without tariffs, without aggressive action, why unnecessarily tariff companies?
Let's just fuck with people's jobs and it's cool. We are talking about people's jobs, not toys. Should do what it takes to keep them. Threatening them will either drive them away or do nothing. Just cut a deal to keep jobs here and then on to the next problem. Not spending weeks on an issue that is an easy fix and cut out the bullshit.
>he is actually rustled
Let me guess, illegal about to get btfo?
Because who cares if the deficit goes up, that's for the next president to care about.
What we need are more tax cuts for businesses and for the wealthiest Americans.
Trump is a pussy
Watch him back down on everything he says.
Sup Forums thought he was a shrewd business man, lel
He's nothing but a snake oil salesman and Obama is Bill Gates by comparison
>greddy jews
>greedy jews
>REDNECK
> greedy Jew
You seem obsessed with race, but focus little on substance.
Trump is not President yet. He has no power (yet) to impose tariffs.
This has been explained. The fact that you're ignoring that makes it clear you are being intentionally dishonest.
He took em furniture shopping
>cannot even reply
Let me guess you are austral....oh
Such a bitch, Trump promised a Trade War for this very reason!
Its time for action and this bitch got punked!
Companies that haven't outsourced a lot yet, you offer them incentives to stay.
Companies that have already outsourced much of their operation, you slam them with tariffs until they submit.
Still no source for this. Also, Trump said in his speech at Carrier that once he takes office it's going to be much harder for companies to leave the country. Basically, Trump salvaged as many of the Carrier jobs as he can and possibly offered them an incentive. I think he did this purely for the optics and to get a good story in the press. He's still hitting Carrier (and other American companies) with that 35% import tariff, top kek.
That's some 1D chess right there,
and every piece has been replaced with bottle caps
Trump is a joke
Trump needs to play hardball with google. Make them get out of ireland tax haven
Then raise yours and your unemployment will plummet right. No. It will skyrocket.
...
Calling other people idiots...
Let's see, $7 million in tax breaks over 10 years, or over $7 million dollars between unemployment and lost taxation after all those 1100+ jobs are shipped out in year 1?
Oh and you can't forget Carrier has already said they will be creating more jobs and keeping them in the US now.
First, Trump didn't give them a tax cut. He doesn't have the ability to do anything like that yet. Pence is the governor of Indiana, and he granted the tax cut. Second, 1000 jobs staying in Indiana means income tax, payroll tax, and increased consumer spending. Indiana will make money off this deal in the long run.
I'm hoinh yto assume that you can figure out, without my even explaining it, why a tax cut that results in a company and the jobs it creates staying in the country will have way less impact on federal revenue than no tax cut and the company and the jobs go away.
A) He didn't give them a tax cut. Indiana gave them a tax break
B) They had this planned over a year ago
C) He has no executive power yet
All you have to do is watch his speech you baffoon
>Trump didn't give them a tax cut. He doesn't have the ability to do anything like that yet. Pence is the governor of Indiana, and he granted the tax cut
kys
Tax cuts are going to take time to pass thorough congress even after inauguration. Carrier couldn't wait since they've been planning this move so Trump offered them an immediate deal. It's not that hard to figure out if you have two brain-cells to rub together.
The other poster said Trump kept 1100 jobs in the US, but it's actually more as he already talked the Ford assembly lines in Louisville, Ky. into staying as oppose to outsourcing. Thousands of jobs saved there.
The only that is a joke is your complete and utter lack of logic.
But these were tax cuts for a business that is only partially staying. They're still sending over half their jobs to Mexico and getting away with it scot-free.
If Trump doesn't drop the hammer on them when he's in power he's dead to me.
Again, no source for the "no-tariffs" claim. These dipshits at Carrier are still getting hit with the 35% import tax.
>but you get almost a 4,300% return on investment over 10 years
>YWN live in an an-cap utopia where you can pay companies to maintain jobs domestically in return for being able to tax their income
This
They should get partially get fucked in the ass. Made in Mexico needs to be TAXED TAXED TARRIFFS. TRADE WAR NAO.
Bernie Sanders will breathe Dragon Fire if he reniggs
>instead of threatening tariffs
He literally did threaten tariffs though, don't you remember?
There are way more eGOP than trump supporters. And he has miserably failed to drain the swamp.
Sorry, boys, the jews will continue winning,
>getting away with it scot-free.
You are implying that Trump has backed out of his 35% import tariff. Where is your source for this?
He should've given that tax cut to growing companies to replace the one that's leaving
>Bernie Sanders will breathe Dragon Fire if he reniggs
Yes Trump's deathly afraid of Bernie I'm sure.
They sure as hell don't seem worried about them if they're still exporting 1300 jobs.
This. Fucking billionares man...
They keep getting away with it
>Why did Trump give Carrier a tax cut instead of threatening tariffs on them
Trump might have threatened tariffs down the line, we don't know.
But Indiana is winning big on this deal.
Trump saved Indiana 1,000 jobs and millions in lost tax revenue.
The deal Trump gave Carrier was to reduce their tax burden in Indiana by 33%.
So instead of paying $2,121,600 in taxes, Carrier will only pay $1,421,600 ($700k less). This deal will only last 10 years.
This is better than Indiana receiving $0 since the 1,000 jobs were already going to Mexico. It also means more wages being spent on the local economy.
wsj.com
They are getting partially fucked in the ass on the jobs that are still leaving the country, they had planned to do this for like a year though and apparently they already had the fucking Mexico plant built. Keeping at least some of those in Murrica is still better than keeping none.

What did google mean by this?
Are people really implying that Trump will now either:
1) Not enforce tariffs on goods manufactured outside the US that are subsequently shipped into the US for sale
2) Not enforce the tariffs on Carrier because... reason?
Both notions are stupid, he's not even in office yet so he hasn't even had time to promote the tariffs.
If Carrier thought they would get getting slapped with a tariff why wouldn't they keep all the jobs here and abandon the mexico factory? Either the tariff Trump proposed isn't high enough to deter Carrier or Trump promised them some sort of out.
Bernie is codeword for EVERY PROGRESSIVE IN THE UNITED STATES.
Let trump fuck around and rig the system for billionares so we can REVOLT
They planned this move ages ago. They probably didn't think Trump had a chance at the time.
Carrier also plans on investing $16 million into their Indiana plant.
>Threaten companies that try to leave America with over the top punishments and reprisal
"Gee why does nobody want to set up their companies in America?"
Tax is theft. The government doesn't have a right to carriers money. The company makes a cost benefit analysis of whether it's worth being robbed by the government to do business at a certain level. Too high of taxes may motivate a company to leave for elsewhere that are lower.
Is it the companies fault they're unhappy at high taxes. Or the government being totally inflexible about their insatiable greed for other people's money?
The God Emperor has bent the knee to some cut-rate half-Mexican AC company.
It's a sad day for America.
