What is rural Oregon like? Particularly the Willamette Valley area? I want to move there because I love the nature and the fact that it's like 90% white, but I'm worried about being surrounded by self-hating liberals.

Outside of Portland and Eugene Oregon is one of the most conservative states there is.
But go to Idaho instead. That way you won't be stuck under a Democratic governor imposing libshit on you.
Idaho is universally agreed to be the best state on Sup Forums
Its nice
Everything around the 5 north of Roseburg and South of Portland is fucked
Coast is alright tho
East side of the state makes you wish you weren't there
It's like rural Alberta but no darkies
Californians are moving to Idaho, Montana, Utah, Arizona and Texas as they ruined Colorado, Washington, Oregon and Nevada.
Idaho the best State on Sup Forums?
Could this be true?
we need a thread on this topic.
> Idaho
Californians are moving everywhere they can. The state is beyond gone for. You won't be able to escape them. Best to keep Idaho as red as you can.
This could be that thread.
What makes Idaho so great? I have already considered it, but I could use more opinions.
I'm a Californian who moved to Texas to escape the lefist hellscape. If there's a civil war I'll be happy to take down my former people on the battlefield.
Lots of mountains, tons of hunting, cheap housing, good jobs, conservative girls, anything /out/ you could possibly want. Nice lakes even. It is kind of remote in comparison to other states since there really isn't a big city there either.
Same here. Left Commiefornia for Louisiana. Rather have the based nigs than the MS13 socialist shithole
There are literally farms in Idaho that are closed off for months out of the year so you can get very isolated if you wanted to.
bump
Check out west/east of Portland, like Damascus, Banks, Sandy, or Yamhill. Small towns in rural settings with mostly based people
Taxes are high in Oregon. Probably less than Canada but much more than red states
Oregon native here, lived in this tiny little dot for 18 years then moved to Corvallis for school. Here's the official Oregon power ranking:
>God Tier
southwest
>Shit tier
northwest
>???
eastern Oregon
yeah and you cant get attacked by bigfoots if you want, nice try
Yeah, but there's no sales tax, AND we don't have to pump our own gas.
>we can't pump our own gas.
FIFY
Fuck off leaf were full.
>I want to pump my own gas
fucking why
The fun part is they will never afford to move back after they get here deplete there savings and can't find work.
lowers social interaction
There's nothing in eastern Oregon
Go Beavs
t b h even salem is pretty conservative of the three valley cities, eugene and portland ruin it
>can do at your own convenience
>dont have to wait for someone to pump it for you
what's next?
>I want to fuck my own wife
fucking why
also OP, the PNW would be a red area if it weren't for Seattle and Portland.
take a look at the votes for the states. WA is blue only because the voting population in seattle, if they didn't it would be a red state. this is why we need state electoral colleges.
What the fuck is eastern Oregon, anyway? Dunes? Farms? I've lived here 23 years and I genuinely don't know, or care.
Beavs are alright, I guess.
Idaho is great for a lot of reasons. Most of it is republican, which you'd all love. It's beautiful, and relatively remote (we have the largest forested wilderness area in the lower 48, and share the 2nd largest with our friendly neighbor Montana).
I'd say it's the most forgotten state, which gives it a really nice vibe. Not many people come here, or live here, but for the most part, we're quite friendly. Best part of the state is the Panhandle, up north. You can find excellent lakes, rolling hills, massive forests. 3-4 towns of 25-45k are what you are looking at. Central Idaho has world class white water and trout fishing, and there's two canyons deeper than the grand canyon.
Basically Idaho is a great state if you're just not down with the rest of the country. Everyone leaves you alone, and thinks "potato" whenever they hear the name. Or they think of Iowa. If you're in to the outdoors, there's a lot here. There are major agricultural areas in the Snake River Valley and the Palouse region up north.
>Idaho is universally agreed to be the best state on Sup Forums
I've always heard Montana here.
They're both top 2 for me though.
Farms and you at Not invited.
fucking beautiful. How's the real estate? I'm thinking of moving when I graduate and there's nothing left for me in this college town.
Damn, that looks nice. I need to escape to a colder state w/ great firearm laws.
I grew up on the Oregon coast. A few considerations:
1. The coast is going to get megaquaked eventually. You're safe from tsunamis provided that you are above a certain elevation, which isn't difficult, since much of the coast has cliffs and escarpments. But if you get caught in the flatlands during a big quake, you'll probably drown.
2. Liberals were not actually the main problem. Oregon has always had a certain type of liberal who was basically like a state-level nationalist. Liberals gave us public beaches (there are no private beaches in Oregon) and various other things that are broadly popular.
That type of liberalism was fine. The problem is TRANSPLANTS, particularly Californians. Their liberalism is goddamned insane. It's absolutely cancerous, and it has spread throughout the state along with them.
3. Most places are more hispanic than you'd think. Some towns out east are over 50% Mexican now. Even coastal towns are 5-10% in most places.
4. The economy is sluggish at best outside of the major cities.
5. The Willamette Valley is not really "rural;" it has countryside, but it is the most populated portion of the state. No part of it is all that distant from the cities. You have to get into or beyond the hills for that.
me and my family moved from Kansas to Portland this year. It was a long drive.
Best state we drove through? Definitely Idaho. Half the time we were driving through it, I felt like I was in minecraft and wanted to plop down and make a cozy farmstead.
The libertarian in me loves being able to legally grow weed. The anti-sjw in me fucking loathes the retardation of portlanders. The comedian in me, however, loves it.
Cozy cloudy winters A+++
-Rains a lot, visit in February before you decide to move here.
-Some of the best hops (for beer) and weed in the country.
-Even Portland is a lot of fun, visit Powell's City of Books and the Saturday Market. The liberals love their city at least.
-Berries everywhere
Solitude, Mexicans, Mormons, and meth. Take your pick. It's all there.
>Even coastal towns are 5-10% in most places.
I'll vouch for this in Brookings. Loved my Mexibros, those guys were nots.
*nuts
Montana is great but only the part that isn't West Dakota. Wyoming is also God-tier. Even the minorities in the state vote mostly republican.
But anyway Portland in Oregon isn't that bad since it's 80%+ white.
>>But anyway Portland in Oregon isn't that bad since it's 80%+ white.
They are the worst kind of whites.
Berries that make you see colors?
To Americans it might be a shithole but I live in Toronto which is much much more liberal than Portland.
Just fruit berries, one of the main exports. Roll down your windows and you will smell them. Marionberries are named after Marion County.
If you go to Idaho, be sure to be able speak German so that the alt-right and neo crazies will talk to you.
Central Oregon here born and raised.
AMA
please tell me more on Wyoming it looks comfy
It's basically a gigantic cowboy state with very few people and a lot of open rangeland. The biggest town Cheyenne has like 70k people. A ton of mining is in the state and a lot of farming as well. Nature is wonderful.
It's another great conservative state with a good quality of life. People trust each other more. Rural places are like walking into a time capsule. I grew up on a farm and virtually all farmers still go to church on Sunday's.
Ground zero PDX here. The streets are descending into chaos. Trash everywhere. Street corner sign-holding beggars everywhere. Hijab wearing women everywhere. Roving gangs. Dangerous streets with desperate homeless. Militarized police. Vast suburban wasteland. Ignorant population. Prices rising daily. Liberal street riots. Whole region primed for megaquake. Idiot mayor refuses to deport illegals under Trump. Stay off the west coast. LISTEN: I'm serious, people know NOTHING about the changing situation in PDX, the dynamics are shifting quickly. I could write a book. Video evidence forthcoming. *^_^*
Is it true Portland has roving gangs of teenage BMX tweakers who attack people for no reason.
Yeah, that's where I am now and it's awful.
You can come up north. I live up in Owen Sound half the year and it's completely based. We fire shotguns at stop signs and do all this crazy shit.
one of my friends got pulled over and opens his dash, he has a flask and painted airsoft handgun in there and the cop didn't even bat an eye. You just get told to go home or something.
When my car breaks I bring it into the shop that morning, I pick it up that night. They leave the keys in the car so you can drive off with it. No risk of theft or anything.
That's Gresham. We don't talk about Gresham.
it's so bad it's like Robocop 3. Forgot to mention endless strip clubs, child abuse, industrial sprawl, liberal puke media, minority takeover of whole neighborhoods, faux sentiment corporate gentrification, drug culture, gay culture, ENDLESS TRAFFIC JAM, rainy shithole that was destroyed in an episode of Robotech. It would be a beautiful eden were it not for man's meddling.
Damn it's a shame. It looks like such a beautiful city.
Are the videos still coming?
Here's the new Portland. Recorded it myself:
I wish I could be a riot cop so bad. I would love to smash hippies all fucking night.
What's stopping you?
That's just the riots though. But I agree with the other stuff you said. Liberal states decay fast and I wonder if there will ever be an end to it.
thanks user
glad this lifestyle still exists
Idaho doesn't have weed. Bend was nice. Sure, a lot of Californians but way freer life than the East Coast. Just very cold in winter, but that keeps out the Blacks.
>What's stopping you?
I'm a 5'7" manlet with broken vertebrae. I don't look like a cripple from the outside, but my disabled parking pass says otherwise. It really fucking sucks too, being a cop is the closest thing I've ever had to a dream.
How is Bend nowadays? Lived there in 08-09.
If you want that in Australia you could go out to some station in Queensland or the Northern Territory. Those people are the exact same type.
That's a good thing, nobody needs it. But the illegal stuff will be dirt cheap since it's legal in Washington and Oregon
Damn, get better soon user. I wanted to be a pilot in the air force but I'm too tall/colour blind as well.
>Hermiston here
I generally like this area. Whites and spics get along real well, pretty calm. No niggers here. Considering moving to West Pasco, WA since nice looking area.
I moved to corvallis a year ago for grad school. Despite being a college town, the leftism hasn't been too overbearing.
Born and raised in Portland, Moved out to St. Helens for a while and then the Meth heads moved in and started to take over. Portland has it share of meth users and abusers. Homeless people walking all over the place and putting up tents on the side walk. You can not stop at a major intersection with out some homeless fuck begging money off of you.
Move to a place out side of Portland like Happy Valley or into Columbia county. Multnomah county has to many taxes. They even has a 35 or 45 dollar art tax that everybody in Portland should be paying, I think about half of the people pay it.
Take a look at Brookings on the south Oregon coast, I think I am going to move down there. Nice views, no crazy crap going on and less BS. A lot of tourist in the summer but not all that bad for a small town.
>90% white,
Look at all those sanctuary cities in Oregon.
South Dakota my man.
No state income tax in SD.
based oklahoma
Corvallis is pretty decent. It's actually in a part of the valley that is more geologically-stable than the other parts.
So even when the megaquake hits, it is expected to take less damage than other areas.
wew lad hello fellow OSU grad student
>tfw when we probably know each other
Best night's sleep I ever had was at X marks the spot after a soak in the Cougar Hot Springs.
I wandered up off into the woods with a sleeping bag and spent the night..
I can verify PDX is FUBAR
FUCK they tax Portland homeowners on the rain here fucking rain water runoff tax.
>tfw no qt Oregon bf to soak in Springs with then cuddle in forest all night in sleeping bag.
BUT THATS RACIST
Some kind of engineering?
Gay or girl?
gay :(
physics :^)
It is Oregon, should of figured
I'm not in Oregon.
>of
I really dont give a flying fuck about grammar, but c'mon mang. That is indefensible.
>glacially carved valley
