Looks comfy af
truly.
So much to look at and take in. I am actually jealous
I like it.
it looks like it's been through a trash compactor
>you will never live in a post dystopia society
>meanwhile, in capitalism
No, not rich. Just a humble 24 y/o trade fag living in the lovely southwest
imagine what they could have done with more land
The case for architects, building codes, and city planners all rolled into one.
filthy shithole blackmarket that existed solely through welfare and as a leech on the larger chinese economy
how would you even expect a self contained city to run with no means of food or material production? it wouldn't, because it wasn't this mystical city that anarchists make it out to be in so much as a hidey-hole for criminals and gangs. basically a giant unsanctioned marketplace. the pictures of the interior speak for themselves.
They would have covered the earth with their filth if left unchecked.
That must have been an absolute hell hole
>anarchists will defend this
Maybe they will, maybe they wont.
Bet it smelled strongly of chinese "people"
Stephen Chow grew up there and said it was great.
this thing was not really as bad as you think it was. most of the people in the building were hard working lower class, sure the gangs and drugs took over parts of it, but most were just families tryng to survive
It looks like anime... that is ant-tier comfy
That's baller as fuck
I can imagine close proximity living like this to be very comfy with updated materials and quality.
There's something about a maze-like structure of small spaces that has charm and mystery to it.
>implying there's no poor people in socialist countries
Incredible...
what the fuck man? I'm ancap and i always cite kwc as the only and the perfect example that anarcho-capitalism works
it unironically hurts that i'll never get to experience it myself, but then again i'm a whitey so they wouldn't have liked me there anyway
Now that I think about it, it kind of reminds me of a college dorm. Self-contained, neighborly, shared recreational spaces.
>OP was right and anarchists are unironically defending KWC
theirs is documentaries of this and ive seen a few, lots of honest hard working poor people lived in the building with all the water coming from the bottom floors. their was a shiload of buissness where their was no regulations, so you had doctors doing all sorts of shit, cheap dentist, people selling jewlery. free commerce at its best. like taatoine
doesn't mean every anarcho community is going to look like that
no reason why architects can't get involved
no reason why building codes won't be adopted
no reason why city planners can't give advice
they just they won't be state controlled and the all legal safety stuff is 3rd party
We need a video game set in Kowloon. It's a great setting for a sandbox RPG with a lot of parkour to get around and a lot of quests from gangs fighting for control over the city.
Of course it won't all look like that, but don't delude yourself with the notion that most of it won't look like that.
youtube.com
very comfy
i've played this level at least 50 times over the years
You just want me to pay for your welfare you commie trash nigger. Taxes = theft
I should NOT have to pay 50% of my income in tax to feed you and your nigger family.
They did have actual building planners, architects, etc but they had no obligation to actually make it look good. They just kept tacking onto someone else's previous work so one building was designed by 3 or 4 different groups of people
that looks pretty comfy is you ask me
Scottsdale or fountain hills?
I want this but with the architecture of old European cities.
Could approach apex comfy.
comfy, it was essential as most people lived in one 2 bedroom appartments with 10 people, usually all related
The only reason people find this comfy is because you know if you lived there that you have so little to lose.
without this, we wouldnt have had one of the greatest calladooty levels/maps
Shadowrun Honk Kong.
Pretty cool game, takes place in Kowloon Walled City of future.
Don't you think that's so amazing how they built up like that? I find it just crazy. In 1990. Come on man, I'll totally chill with a qt gril from Kowloon(if she isn't ridden with STDs) there.
Imagine the street life.
the initial attempts will be shoddy, and big gov people will point at them as examples that anarchism doesn't work
but that would be like laughing at everyone who tried building planes before the wright brothers
initially there was no right way to build a plane, no safety standards, no airports, nothing at all!
but eventually a 'best practice' will emerge that doesn't require a gov to orchestrate everything, providing freedom and efficiency
sure
ssure
just like software construction!
that doesn't look like 45 degrees to me
lol
This is dwarf fortress IRL, I'm impressed with the overall dwarfmanship of this work.
Man I miss those fucking cross section books.
i would live there
Looks comfy as fuck. Where is my dystopian future I was promised?
I'm fairly certain those books are the reason I have autism.
They ployed it down thats the dystopia
might be rite
I used to look at these for hours
this is more like the free market doing what it needs to survive. with no regulation and taxes, nessesity at its finest.
But everyones poor that's not good.
>there's a charm to living like rats
I guarantee you this romantic idea you have of such a place would evaporate within a day or less
Sounds like an artificial Appalachia.
Looks like Scottsdale. Probably a country club from the looks of it
comfiest city on the planet. wish they kept it, it was a part of history. really interesting.
Why are you guys calling this place comfy? Have any of you even been to Hong Kong or any large Chinese city? Shit's gross.
t. American chink
I'm a huge clean freak so I'd be so miserable living in the squalor. I don't get how you guys think it's comfy. Maybe a comfy place to visit a friend sometimes but not a place to shack up in.
How the heck did they get 50000 people out in order to demolish it?
I mean there had to be people refusing to leave, did it get violent?
Cyberpunks would trade 5.25" contraband floppies there.
can you imagine what it was like when everyone vacated before they demolished? The whole place just... empty.
>ywn party hard in squalor with the other peasants
Its literally a cyberpunk/steampunk type setting
>Supposedly there's an SCP thats based on this
That shit was really unnerving to read.
Oh man, I used to love that shit.
jesus. they all have 500 watt lightbulbs?
cable TV works
Me too man. Shit was really fascinating, would have loved to seen inside.
All the qt girls probably left kwc the first moment they could or got drafted into the hooker ring.
But really kwc was mafia run. Its not true ancap
Basically get the chinese mafia to do it
metal manufacturing was a top job
>mafia
>not ancap
sometimes you could even see the sun
but only if you really wanted
I don't get the hate for KWC. Is it just modernist brainwashing telling us that something that didn't come out perfect first time from the pen of a central planner must be horrible and have no right of existing?
Because I'm pretty sure there were a whole bunch of people who found KWC a perfectly acceptable and affordable place to live. There's something that we could learn in that.
electricity worked...probably
>mafia
>Ancap
pls have cancer
only residents knew the routes through the winding alleys and streets
>mafia
>market based
how old are you?
what the fuck anarchy has to do with this?
anarchy is about freedom. that looks like an uncomftrable jail
I'm not understanding this thread
>pictures of some huge run down Squalorly Chinese building
> filled with people living like rats
>getting praised
Anarchy is only fit to overthrow or temporary keep out corrupt and shit governments, or else you get this shit
yeah cause roofs doesnt exist. What a shame they were invented in the 2000's
Me too man. Used to read the fuck out of those things as a kid
comfy liquor store
this
no thieves?
some police
>you only had to invade the top neighbors rooftop to see the sun!
amazingly comfy, real life cyberpunk city. read about it a lot desu
but not good to live in
i wish i would have been able to visit it before it was torn down, but oh well. let's post pictures, see if there's any i haven't saved yet
test
jesus christ i can smell the rankness just looking at the picture. like a wet china town, times 10
nice dentists
22
>perfect ancap society
>thieves
kwc is literally proof ancap works you faggot burger
This
