My thing with Bach is that his catalog of work is immense, I only know of some of his work. some pieces I have heard about are his Art of Fugue, his English and French Suites, and there was one I heard but all I remember of it was it had two harpsichords. Any good recommendations for those?

one thing to keep in mind with classical music is that, when it comes to listening to recordings, you have to be mindful of the performer(s). 'classical music' as a concept is quite sensitive and dynamic, since the performances are just as important as the compositions. a bland and robotic performer with make the greatest composition sound bland and robotic.
this type of sensitivity requires a lot more from the listener in terms of education; one doesn't simply pick up a cd of bach and just kick back and chill. you have to gain an understanding of what music was back then and the important relationship between the music and performers. it's not a surprise classical music is misunderstood because it's a rabbithole, but it's an immensely rewarding one. each composer is their own genre, each performer is their own genre.
