I'm assuming that you're against capitalism.
The force that drives the blacksmith to build the shop is the desire for PROFITS. The blacksmith takes a risk by taking a loan from the bank. He hopes that he will one day pay off the loan and become rich based off of the risk he took. He hires workers to work in his blacksmith shop to accomplish this end.
Is a syndicate exactly the same except for the fact that there are multiple owners?

Marx's predictions came from believing the working class would realize its disadvantaged position in society and subsequently take up arms to capture the state to reshape the economy into one that favored their interests as a class, over the capitalists. Much like how French revolution was essentially the bourgeoisie seizing the state from the aristocracy to pursue its own economic interests.
This notion that communism is somehow "collectivist" or requires everyone to be selfless altruists in order to function is ridiculous.
