They do that in the US. I worked in the dorms over the summer for the college I went to, and it was full of middle aged Chinese guys who sat around and played poker and drank all day in their rooms, and had assistants who went to class for them. They got degrees that way.

We also had a bunch of arabs, the same thing - rich cousins of some arab prince, they'd sit on campus and leer at women all day, and they'd be passed by their teachers, who were told to do it, because the school got big endowments from their families.

The only fun part was watching both groups trt to out-alpha each other, because they were all stuck up assholes. The rumor was the Chinese guys are Chinese mafia, but I don't buy that, I think they were mid-level Party wonks living it up on the peasant's dime.
