Today hundreds of veterans from all across the United States, led by Wesley Clark Jr. took a knee and begged for forgiveness for crimes committed toward indigenous people in the name of the United States military. In a moving ceremony led by Arvol Looking Horse, Faith Spotted Eagle, Leonard Crow Dog, Phyllis Young, Ivan Looking Horse and many other natives of Turtle Island, the veterans were forgiven for actions taken to dehumanize the indigenous of this country, and a step towards solidarity has been made.
We stand together as one to defend indigenous rights and Mother Earth. Our journey of solidarity has just begun.
This is fucking 100% cuck level shit. Im Native and i know Natives they dont cry about the past. These fags can get guillotined as well

Forgive my ignorance, when was the last time the military committed an atrocity against native Americans? It has to be at least before my mother was born. I don't see how any of these veterans can claim to be even tangentially responsible.

This is what happens when a former Christian culture is replaced by secularization. You still have all the rituals present even if they don't make sense without the religious context. You get the hyper-irrational behavior inherent in liberalism.

It's symbolic, but it's important that military did this. It wouldn't be the same or mean the same if say, a bunch of McDonald's employees asked forgiveness, because McDonald's didn't do anything to the Indians.

>It's symbolic, but it's important that military did this. It's "sins of the fathers"
That's retarded. These guys are just a bunch of random vets and don't officially represent the military And as for the "sins of the fathers", how many of these people actually know if their ancestors actually oppressed any Indians? My ancestors came over from Europe in the 20's and had nothing to do with native Americans. Would my apology mean anything since I was in the military too? If these people are symbolically responsible for atrocities committed decades before they were born because they're white and were in the military, are the natives equally responsible for atrocities committed against settlers and other tribes by their ancestors? Contrary to the "noble savage" narrative, it's not like all these tribes were just living in harmony and got slaughtered by whites because they didn't know how to fight. Indian tribes slaughtered entire colonies of settlers. Iroquois would murder the all the men of an enemy tribe, torture any of the warriors who surrendered, and rape all of the women.
No one is blameless, and going back into history to try and dig up past wrongdoing doesn't help anybody. A "symbolic" apology isn't going to unkill or unrape anybody's century old ancestors, get anyone's land back, or solve any of the actual problems facing native Americans communities like rampant alcoholism, domestic abuse, or juvenile illiteracy.

He's right. They're all fucking pogues. It's just IVAW/VVAW/VFP jumping on the next social justice bandwagon to try and stay relevant.
I fell in with IVAW when I got out and was pretty distraught about the Iraq War. I don't regret my opposition to the war, but I regret running with that crowd. Maybe 2% rated a CIB or equivalent decoration. It was mostly underwear-washers, fobbits, and other assorted clerks and filers. Unbelievable joke. Easily half the money they raised went to fuel drug habits and most of the rest went into six-figure salaries for the handful of paid employees. Everything else got skimmed by local treasurers.
They raised some big money, too, and from lots of celebrities. Eddie Vedder gave a half million. Tom Morello gave twice that and used to hang out with us.
You know those douchebags in college with dreads, always asking you to sign a petition for fucking this or that or free-trade licorice? This is what happens when they flunk out and enlist as sanitation specialists. They become professional veterans who never even actually fought in a fucking war and every time the sound of bongos and scent of marijuana wafts over the scene of some idiotic protest, they'll come marching in to exploit their phony veterans' mystique in an effort to co-opt the whole "Support the Troops" thought-terminating cliche.
Nathan Sullivan
fuck every last god damn savage in usa/can, they were perfectly fine with murdering/raping eachother and stealing eachothers land right up until a white man did it. the mother fuckers couldn't even stop killing eachother for 10 minutes to band together to kill the white men, only a handful were smart enough to do that and they eventually got steam rolled.
enough of this "people of the earth" meme shit too, they piss on the earth, they hate nature. the most irresponsible steward of the resource is a fucking native, go look on any fuckin res and tell me how much trash is strewn about and tell me who does the most shady fishing/hunting shit by a fuckin mile, pro tip, it's fuckin tanto

This isn't an injun problem, this is a reservation problem. Reservations are miniature third world countries with no sewage, likely no running water, and very little industry. So naturally there's no sanitation services that would pick that shit up.
Everywhere else has prison labor and volunteer groups to help with that. No one is going to waste their time on doing that on a reservation when there are only a few thousand people living there, tops.
Jaxon Hernandez
>Forgiving people for things they didn't do
Maximum cuckoldry
Josiah Walker
>They were representing those who wronged the natives
So the white people in attendance never did any harm to the natives in attendance and vice versa? So would there be anything wrong with everyone just living their lives and continue not hurting one another?
>Healing and forgiveness is a good thing
Except the people on their knees begging for forgiveness didn't do anything to be forgiven for, and the people supposedly doing the "forgiving" haven't been wronged themselves and are likely to keep holding a grudge against whites regardless.
I don't think this ceremony is going to heal any major breaches, but I think it's a good thing, and will probably help some people to move on.
>These guys are just a bunch of random vets and don't officially represent the military On a spiritual level they do.
>are the natives equally responsible for atrocities committed against settlers and other tribes by their ancestors? Yes, but most of those atrocities are probably all lost in the past now. Point is, there's a lot of open wounds still from the natives being fucked over (and they were fucked over, it's not even debatable). There are lots of times where people REPRESENTING their ancestors have gotten together and buried the hatchet. It's a relatively common thing, it's a good thing, and it helps people(s) heal and move on.
>No one is blameless agreed
>going back into history to try and dig up past wrongdoing doesn't help anybody. disagreed. see below
>A "symbolic" apology isn't going to unkill or unrape anybody's century old ancestors, get anyone's land back, or solve any of the actual problems facing native Americans communities like rampant alcoholism, domestic abuse, or juvenile illiteracy. You're right. It doesn't unrape, unkill, unravage, unsteal, etc. But it does help start the process of healing and regeneration. You can google "generational wounds" to get a sample of what I'm talking about. You probably call it 'shit-tier pseudoscience', and you have a point. It's not science, and it's not proveable. But it is nevertheless real, and many people are in a fucked up place right now PARTLY because of the things done to (AND BY!) their ancestors.
Joseph Gomez
When there is only one race and culture, then we can come together.
Must be an older guy thing, me and my buddies just talked shit about them and how they aren't really being affected by the pipeline.
A good soldier/marine/sailor does what he has to do, all thise guys who were part of the treenigger removal, both Soldier and Injun, were just caught up in the shit storm of their time like every fighting man before them and after them.
There's nothing to seek forgiveness for, I know I don't regret my duty to my brothers in arms. All I would regret is if I couldn't do enoughfor them.
Nicholas Jackson
Are you fuckin high?
Do you even know what the BIA is? They have droves of money that is solely allocated for cleaning up reservations that's paid on the federal dime, let alone EPA Super Fund sites that are vastly disproportionately allocated to fuckin savages.
Don't make excuses for the timber niggers that are too lazy to pick up their own shit and don't give a flying fuckin about their environment, they have plenty of money and ability to take care of their shit, but, they just don't give a fuck because they'd rather beat a drum, cry about MUH RIGHTS, and toot ice all day.
William Bell
Shall I talk about Sins boy?
Sin is a personal action against The Unity. The Sins of The Fathers past are held responsible to those Fathers themselves, and to the Children of those Sinned against.
If it is the will of the Children of the Sinned to Sin, and continue the cycle; then let it be known it is not the Sin of my Father that I or you are responsible for, but the Sins we choose to act on because of it.
You want to destroy the Sin of my Father? Be above it, and spite me not boy. For if I am to held to a cross that is not my own, then I ensure my children will hold you to your own.
Be above the Hate boy. Or be broken under the same wheel like our Fathers before us.

The Creek were docile compared to the Comanche, they had no sense of the word honor, they just liked killing Mexicans and Americans
Jaxon Morgan
Fuck. I know Crow Dog. He's cool. Honestly, the Indians aren't doing anything wrong here. The US veterans are. I'm Irish by descent, and if a person who was British by descent wanted to give me money, cry in front of me, and be a big sorry whining self hating baby, I'd let him. But I'd never respect him. This is just regular native dudes letting pussy ass self hating white people debase themselves. Honestly, I'd rather go to a bar and drink firewater with these injun dudes that the faggotty ass white soldiers.
God, this is pissing me off. These US soldiers are basically saying they wish the US had lost.
Charles Watson
I had a roommate in college that was from a reservation. He told me that his family would regularly just throw trash on the floor and generally treat their house like shit, because once it got unlivable they would just move into a new house paid for by the government. I don't know how true this is but he was a fucking disgusting slob so I believe it.
Ethan Diaz
So your faggot ass is telling me i need to bear the sins that may or may not have happened many years ago? That means i can have pride in what my forebears did too, right?
Jacob Cox
No, it's symbolic. Obviously no one at the ceremony was either wronged nor culpable.
Carson Lopez
Based? He's a globalist Jew. His whole family is filth.

This is exactly the type of shit that makes no one respect this country anymore.
Jacob Anderson
How 'bout that.
Adrian Young

i've been screaming this but nobody is listening

>Yes, but most of those atrocities are probably all lost in the past now.
I really hate to put words in your mouth, but it sounds like you're excusing those atrocities because the victims either refuse to or aren't there to belabor them.
>On a spiritual level they do. I'm having a hard time believing you're serious now. If you can "spiritually" represent the military, my original question stands. Would my apology to these people mean anything even if my ancestors immigrated to the US after nearly all the fuckery against the natives had taken place and had nothing to do them ever?
>But it does help start the process of healing and regeneration.
How many guilty white people have already apologized to the natives? These people can't be the first. And yet the healing process still hasn't even started? It's been a pretty long fucking time.
> You can google "generational wounds" to get a sample of what I'm talking about. You probably call it 'shit-tier pseudoscience', and you have a point. It's not science, and it's not proveable. But it is nevertheless real
So you admit that you have no proof this, but still insist that it's real. Well fuck it, I hate playing this race card, but I think it's warranted here. I'm half black. Would you like to symbolically apologize to me? Do you really think it will help anything?
So you admit nothing outside of hollow symbolism and lip service was accomplished?
Ethan Bailey
very, very, very, very fucking true, it's absolutely revolting.
the fed has all this fuckin money for river spooks, and it's a neverending torrent, trust me.
they live like migrant traveler folk, they live in a brand new trailer the fed drops off, they shit it up for a few weeks have a few ragers in there, rip the doors off for fun, break all the windows, completely total it.
aaaaaaaaand............uncle sam brings in a new trailer for them and the other one is fucking bull dozed, sometimes not even picked up off the ground after the fact
Angel Diaz
Dude, seriously. I grew up around Native families. They were basically all rad, great people. The fucked up shit was these white people who claimed to be 25% native, and tried to use them for political bullshit. Also, almost every native man I knew was a combat vet. I really respected these guys, they all fought for America, and were proud. This shit is just sad.
Anyway, I always felt bad about how the Natives got screwed, but this shit isn't the answer. The natives who do really well do it themselves, and want to stand on their own feet. This reparations shit hurts people more than it helps.
Jordan Robinson
>Do you even know what the BIA is? They have droves of money that is solely allocated for cleaning up reservations that's paid on the federal dime, let alone EPA Super Fund sites that are vastly disproportionately allocated to fuckin savages.
These are almost always squandered or allocated to people who siphon the money away.
Reservations are like countries in Africa. The red cross gives more than enough aid to feed every person in the country, but almost all of it ends up going to a warlord or is wasted in bureaucratic mis-management.
That warlord in this case are the chiefs and politicians who gladly use the money for their own projects and let the original goal go to waste. It's one of the best arguments against reservations I've ever seen. Those same people are the ones who own gigantic casinos and are carted around all over the country to talk about how awful life as an injun is so whitey needs to give (((them specifically))) more money.
