We're a country of 23 million people with only 11 million people in the work force. Our economy is a myth.

how?
there's so much land & natural resources to work with

Feminism.

Clearly not enough immigrants.

sure thing Ahmed

Enormous amounts of government bureaucracy and regulation make it effectively impossible to start businesses.
For example
theguardian.com/australia-news/2016/apr/15/western-australias-potato-war-ends-as-regulatory-body-is-wound-up

Our government really doesn't like the prospect of Australian people getting ahead, labour likes to sell our land to chinese mainlanders, coalition like to sell land rights to chinese mainlanders. Both governments have contributed towards making Australia one of the most heavily taxed and regulated countries in the world, stifling new businesses. There are almost no investment opportunities here outside of the mines, and mines are still uncertain because of all the environmentalist freaks and the fact that we're going to run out of coal some day (they won't let us mine our massive uranium reserves)

All free capital is still getting injected into the real estate Ponzi scheme
The government should incentivise the investing into business and innovation more strongly, as real estate actually contributes very little to sustainable growth

At least you guys can smoke up legally now.
cnn.com/2016/02/24/health/medical-marijuana-legal-australia-irpt/index.html

Daily reminder that 90% of all Australians are all pedophiles
youtube.com/watch?v=nEpOBX427ZI

No shit 23 million people aren't in the work force, you have a sizeable youth and geriatric population that either are too young or have had time put them out of working.

I'm sorry You seem to of mistaken us for brain dead faggots.

There's only 23 million people in australia?

23 million humans
2.3 billion abos

It's how we are full
Don't come they won't like you

?
isn't australia under liberal (western cuckservative) rule for a while now, or is it actually merkel tier

not surprised about the destruction they cause
but still puzzles me that UK, sweeden and germany are still floating when their feminism is way more outrageous

The resource curse. It's a natural resource bubble, and white trash bogans are everywhere

Yeah we're under the liberal government, who are "conservatives." They have a policy of not letting reffos in which is funny and pisses of leftists, the problem is they bring in so many foreigners from the same kind of countries on work visas. What they don't get in illegal immigration they get in legal immigration. It's not as bad as Europe because the general population is pretty strongly against immigrants, especially muslims, but people are starting to wake up to how we're coming to the same end under the 2 main parties which is why Pauline Hanson won 4 seats in the last election, probably even more in the next since her approval rating have actually gone up since then

Liberal were decent when they had Abbott but theyre complete shit now that Turnbull is in

And everyone else either doesn't want to work or has a useless women's studies degree

at least the country's immune system is working
though i can't see a way out for australia which doesn't go the way of japan (drop out of the jew game of good & growing economy)

Is this pauline or whatever your Trump?

She's not like Trump but she's still based.

Redpill me on Pauline Hanson

She isnt that smart, just right wing AF

Australia.....next overseas Chinese territory

Japan will be fine in the long run, their economy is stagnating and Jews are trying to convince them that massive numbers of high fertility rate migrants are the way to save the country, but if they stick it out a couple more decades and let the population decrease a bit they'll be back into growth mode. The main issue is cost of living, work availability, investment opportunities etc. The population isn't growing not because of culture problems but because it's too expensive to raise big families and stable work is getting harder to find, this will fix itself if their are less people, this is what happens when you grow too much too quickly.

Kinda. I trust her more than Trump to be honest. Trump seems kinda like he could do a 180 at any time after a sit down with some important figure and some money under the table but Pauline's been complaining about Muslims coming in and the Chinese buying agricultural and residential land for decades now, never once gone against her own word.

>their are

there are*

She's the redhead lady that we should've had instead of Gillard. Though it was actually Gillard that started the reffo concentration camp in PNG but leftists forgive her for that because muh gina and the fact that she called parliament sexist that one time

This is my issue with her. Shes a bloody moron in most areas. But its getting to a point where im willing to take hits on the economy just to stop non whites coming here.

Kek. Best explanation.

It's unfortunate but she's really not the articulate statesperson we need to give nationalism a respectable public face, but she, like Trump, is the only one taking strong stances on these important issues, which is why people are starting to vote for her in droves.

Unstable power supply shutting down industry. Exactly what the left wants.

i think she had more support that was invisible, people not wanting to vote for her because they thought she would never make it. Ill definitely vote one nation next chance i get now that iv seen the ball is rolling. i think a lot of people are in this camp. The more popular she gets the more people feel like voting for her will make a difference.

I think Italian tier political turmoil has destroyed Australia's once stable name.

Leaders deposed every year. All stabbed in the back and joining the queue to return the favour.

Also Australia's economy was basically one thing; sell dirt and rocks to China. We assumed that was going to keep us flush forever and didn't plan for the day that might stop. Now Chinas stopped bankrolling us we've realised we weren't all that good with money and are basically screwed.

The following rats jumping from the sinking shil analogy works for me. For the last few decades New Zealanders flocked to us as their economy struggled after Britain joined the EU. NOW, Kiwis are leaving us in droves. One tenth of all New Zealand immigrants have returned to their homeland in the last 2 years. (Not a bad thing). What's actually worse is that legitimate bona fide Aussies, such as myself are now looking to NZ for job opportunities.

I think the worst thing about all this is its practically guaranteeing a Labor win next election. And probably with a massive landslide. Makes no difference if Turnbull runs his course or if Abbott or someone elses rolls him.

A Labor government in 2018? With sjw bullshit reaching incredible new heights in Australia. It would be hell to be an average Aussie bloke.

>labour
>winning

They'll have to make the working class forget that they wanted to fuck with negative gearing first if they ever want to be anything other than acting as seat warmers for third parties in the senate.

Hello.
I just noticed all this nice land.
Maybe we could start producing things.
No water for miles?
No problem! I'm a resourceful young lady. I can find a solution to any problem!

Oh, the government says no. Moving the water disturbs nature apparently.

But there are plenty of resources underground!
Let's get digging, boys!

Oh, Abos said no and they phoned the government.
They said digging disturbs nature and asked for a massive cheque.
So I guess it will remain a barren lifeless wasteland...

Well... I guess I could start up, like, a service-industry business...

Oh, there aren't that many people here... and the country is isolated... and highly regulated... and the internet is 1mbps down, 0 up.

Goodbye girt by shit.

It's all good i hope you find work over here you are the only immigrants i will ever accept the rest can fuck off back to their brown dog land

Just remember, if the greenies had their way we'd be all out in the bush with the abo tribals throwing sticks at koalas

Nah cunt, they want up face down ass up praying to Allah five times a day.

The Kiwi bro. No need to worry for me, I've scored a gig working in Christchurch in construction. Dollar for dollar so doing OK.

No complaints from me. Oh hang on, two actually, summer. And the quality and attractiveness of South Island girls and leaves something to be desired.

No wonder you are all so into sheep.

Prolly the roos fucked their women into submission now its all fucked and the abbo's get what women that are left

Kek

>You seem to of mistaken us for brain dead faggots.
It's no mistake, you are brain dead faggots.

No woman in her right mind would Go for an abbo mate. I've only ever seen that once, and he was like a quarter caste.

Labor's spending under Rudd, Gillard then Rudd again has enlarged our budget to stupidly large levels. Plus even more regulations, the GST, high min wage and general bureaucratic nonsense, has made us stagnate.

Our economy is extremely reliant upon Chinese demand for commodities. This reliance enabled us to avoid the GFC, but it has since meant that following China's move to a service-based economy, we are in real trouble.

Politicians are proving slow to move away from mining. There is some very minor legislative and policy changes being made to push us towards finance, but mostly the mining companies wants their gibs.

Finally, something like 70+% of Australian politicians hold investment properties. This means they are personally interested in allowing chinks to come in and purchase properties, all whilst keeping interest rates low and legal migration up so to increase demand.

We are heading for an extreme recession. Hopefully I will be out of the country by then.

We're not even allowed to use the terms half or quarter caste anymore because it's racisss. I mean what the fuck do we call them then, half-breeds? Orcs?

China is buying everything, the government keeps importing people that don't work, too easy to get benefits so a large chunk of the population doesn't work.
And we're supposed to have a conservative government in charge, I have no idea what they're doing.

> regulator’s powers to stop and search a vehicle they reasonably believe may be carrying more than 50kg of potatoes.

dear lord my sides

Mining could remain viable as long as we find another market.

I'm wondering what the feasibility is of supplying iron ore to the US or something. If they restructure all their trade and try to revive manufacturing, then that puts us in a prime position seeing as we tend to honour all our military and economic commitments to them

Most Aussie thing I've ever read

End of the mining boom.
Ending of the housing bubble.
Watch next year, it will get ugly in the property market especially Melb & Sydney.

>Mining could remain viable as long as we find another market.

not to the same extent. it's difficult to put into words just how insane China's demand for commodities was.

Mining can be an important export, but we need to diversify to other areas.

Wot m8

> diversify

This. But its too late now.

We should've been working on diversifying our economy ten years ago when we really didn't need it.

For every 100 Australians seeking to enter the workforce 37 find employment. Of these 37 people, 8 are offered full time jobs with the rest being offered part time or casual. This represents a 75% decrease in the number of full time jobs on offer, along with 50% decrease in the total number of jobs on offer when compared to 10 years ago.

We create 112,000 jobs per year on average, and we have 200,000 people immigrate to Australia per year on average, ~75% of whom are seeking work. Over and above this we currently have 200,000 people in the country on annually renewed foreign work visas. The net result is that there before we even account for Australians, there are not enough jobs to support the people moving here.

The unemployment numbers are routinely fudged by redefining unemployment. "Not seeking work" does not count as unemployed, where "not seeking work" includes people who have not worked in the previous four weeks. When the youth unemployment rate became too high and youth was defined as the age range of 15-25, the government redefined youth as 18-25 and increased the school leaving age which has effectively killed all apprenticeships in the country. (Apprentice's wages are earmarked as less than minimum wage with the expectation that they would be performed from the age of 15-19, now it's from 18-22 when you could be earning more working at McDonalds).

Combined with the shift from full time work to part time and casual, we're seeing more "jobs created" while the total number of work hours is going down. Wages have stagnated at 0.4% increase per annum while inflation is at approximately 2% per annum and cost of living is up 1.3% on top of that.

Considering that full time employment is 36-40 hours a week compared to part time at 19-26 hours a week. The total real wage is falling faster than it is growing, and even without this effect wage growth is being drowned in cost of living and inflation.

Australia is a cucked liberal utopia, they are still reeling from the presidential election. If you thought California was blue, think again...

Australia produces a lot of commodities (metal ores, copper, coal, cement, uranium, etc.) for developing economies like China.

China manufacturing is down. Commodities are down.

China is still fudging their numbers but you can see the damage in Australia already.

holy shit get your stuff together

Economy is hurting, too much government regulations and taxes. Businesses have such trouble starting or growing. Too many socialist ideals. Capitalism is dying here, thus the death of the middle class.

Underemployment
Immigration ponzi scheme
Destruction of green industries
Biggest corporations and miners don't part tax
Fuel subsidies for miners
Expensive refugee policy

have a cone ya straight edge poofta

As someone in the economics field i can tell you our economy is no where near as strong as it seemed. Real income growth has been relatively flat, business investment is at recessionary levels and we have some of the highest private debt in the world, meaning monetary policy is useless. We have squandered 20 years of economic growth with no real structural changes being implemented (apart from the GST). We are over regulated, over taxed and our politicians are too weak to implement real change. We are in real trouble.

sauce for the numbers? i want this for later

How the fuck do the other 11 million survive then?

welfare.

>Trump seems kinda like he could do a 180 at any time after a sit down with some important figure and some money under the table but Pauline's been complaining about Muslims coming in and the Chinese buying agricultural and residential land for decades now, never once gone against her own word.

Trump is literally a billionaire which means that he has no need for money anymore. In fact, he needs a strong healthy America so he and his family can spend all that money. I trust Trump to be the crass and shrewd businessman he always has been.

This country is doomed. I'm going to try my hardest to move overseas for work next year.

So you can live fine and dandy off welfare without having to subsidize yourself?

Why would half of the population agree to support the other half. That is retarded. I mean that exists here in fact a small minority pays for the rest of the country and thats exactly why I refuse to pay tax.

You guys should do a tax boycott

>give backpackers and 457 visas tax breaks and our jobs
>they send money back to their own country instead of spending it here
>prevent Aussies from making their own business beyond freelance tradie type stuff
>HURR WHY OUR ECONOMY SUCK?

For work rates take these stats:
abs.gov.au/AUSSTATS/[email protected]/Lookup/6226.0Main Features1February 2015?OpenDocument
And compare the rate of new employments to the total number of unemployed people for the 37 in 100 figure. Look at jobs created by type for distribution of

Job creation figures can be calculated from here
abs.gov.au/ausstats/[email protected]/mf/6202.0

Migration figures
abs.gov.au/ausstats/[email protected]/mf/3412.0/

Summary of some figures here, the author is a dick and you need to go digging through the ABS data yourself.
insidestory.org.au/australia-today-a-million-new-adults-just-385000-new-jobs

Cost of living and inflation can be found with a quick google, along with wage growth.

>Jew farmers moan about the backpacker tax killing their business
>Say the locals don't want the work
>Many locals try to do the work but get turned away because the farmers don't wan to pay proper wages

>but we need to diversify to other areas.
Bit late now that Keating, Howard, Rudd, Gillard, etc killed our manufacturing industry and choked the fuck out of agriculture.

There really isn't, and most of the land is uninhabitable.

immigration is at the centre of all of problems across the board.

I don't care if we put a braindead abo in charge of the country, we just need somebody to say enough's enough and then poof, cheaper housing and jobs appear, crime goes down.

Emu reparations

I really liked Tony Abbot, wtf happened to him?

thanks m8

because when nearly of the people eligible to vote is on some sort of government paycheck (either public servant or on welfare) they are unlikely to vote or back measures which are detrimental to themselves. This is what 25 years of unfettered economic growth does, it creates complacency and dependency.

>backpacker tax
Because high wages are unaffordable

We paid $30 an hour to 1 worker and it slowly became unaffordable for us to keep operating. And that was just ONE employee.

This board is going to be so fucking happy and sad when the Australian and Canadian economies collapse simultaneously.
