Even with the guys like Berry and Hendrix, the thing is rap is EASIER. Most musicians don't really care about music, they care about money and attention. So they'll go the quickest, easiest way to get it. With rap you don't have to sit down and learn how to use an instrument and get good at it.
You just say words. It's easy to do and it's easy for people to get into.
So yeah, there is nothing stopping black dudes from learning how to play guitar and getting into rock. It's just a cultural thing to do the easier music people around them are doing.

I was just thinking wtf is OP talking about. Jimi Hendrix basically wrote the book. All good rock n roll is heavily blues/jazz based and lots of great brass musicians are black.
