Correction, 8:26AM EST and 8AM EST

Reminder that Asians only went to space after reverse engineering what white people did.

>Japanese H2-B rocket carrying supplies to ISS launching

They should be sending rockets carrying something else to ISIS, not ISS.

Looks like something you would make in early/mid KSP career mode, with those cute little SRBs and all those connector struts

Reminder that Japanese sent no manned rocket to space.

Live coverage has started. Lift off in 26 minutes.

What's been stopping them from doing it?

The nasa.gov stream seems to be higher quality, but a few seconds behind the other stream.

Maybe gov want to try something undiscovered

The Russian government has been subsidizing Roscosmos who for a long time have offered a reliable and cheap launch system compared to the rest of the world. Even US gave up on their space vehicles and have been paying Russians.

Then SpaceX came in and undermined the whole industry by showing how rapidly they could develop their platform while still being a profitable company. Also making their launches public with livestreams spurred investor confidence. Lots of competition growing in the "space" (no pun intended) which is what Elon wanted all along just like with Tesla.

This, just like China's live stream for Tiangong-2 mission show how countries are looking to compete to stay relevant. Russia has made large investment in their future space program. Now Japan, kings of computer and mechanical engineering have to prove they are still relevant too.

Future is looking good for space :-)

Lift off in 10 minutes.

T minus 10 mins
Good luck space dinners

Please Kek make it crash

im ready

this is /comfy/

nice try, abdul ali muhammad

RIFT OFF

We have liftoff.

I hope the SRB's crash into Pakistan

How do you say nominal in Japanese?

development of rockits is one of the keystones of ICBMs
something something ai sensei birri revenge for nagasaki

if you wanna see California engulfed in nuclear hellfire (you may want to) you should cheer for the nip space program ;)

Reminder that this is the only ISS resupply vehicle which hasn't failed in recent times.

>Dragon failed - blew up on the launchpad
>Cygnus failed - blew up seconds after liftoff
>Progress failed - third stage didn't ignite and reentered

If this one doesn't make it either the ISS will have to be abandoned due to lack of a supply line.

>If this one doesn't make it either the ISS will have to be abandoned due to lack of a supply line.

No it won't. Just because some of those rockets failed doesn't mean the rest will. Besides some already made it there.

what if it crashes into the ISS because the flight engineer gets distracted by his ai gf on his 3DS

We get a nice fireworks show

What's the chick saying?

did it launch? did I miss it?

Yes, successful launch. It will spend 4 days in orbit before docking with the ISS.

Yeah, it's over.

It takes that long? Wow

It's unmanned. No rush.

It can be done faster, but that requires more fuel.

Thanks
Checking out that vid now, very interesting.

Well, it IS technically a modified Delta 2. They licensed it from USA and upgraded a little bit
