Engineer makes the car

>engineer makes the car
>driver drives it
>driver gets all the credit

why is this fair?

The engineer works for Mercedes, and all Mercedes cares about is getting their logo spammed all over the media for a couple days.

Any idiot can drive a car.
Only people who watch racing are idiots
they can't sympathise with some engineer with twice the intelligence and five times the salary
doing shit they could never possibly do
but they can sympathise with the driver
because any idiot can be one

Isnt there a price for best team and best car?

Regardless, the driver is the one putting his life on the line. He deserves the praise.

In apple there were two Steve's. One was the computer wiz and the other was the salesman. Guess who's the famous one?

Being an engineer is asking to be cucked. That's why more of them are heading to Wall Street or just creating their own startup to rip off investors.

Do you really want some faggy "everybody is a winner" cup with some chad humblebragging about being part of the team ?

But I do think manufacturers should have more rock star engineers taking credit for their work like they used to, just not during sporting events.

> The Citroën DS is a front-engine, front-wheel-drive executive car manufactured and marketed by the French company Citroën from 1955 to 1975 in sedan, wagon/estate and convertible body configurations.

> Italian sculptor and industrial designer Flaminio Bertoni and the French aeronautical engineer André Lefèbvre styled and engineered the car. Paul Magès developed the hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension.

Soldier puts his life on line.
Who gets credit?
Hitler.

engineer doesn't need fame because good enough to care about that

Because what the engineer does is too complicated. You can't understand the sheer amount of work & ingenuity that went into building these mechanics by just looking at them.

Meanwhile everything that the driver does looks & sounds spectacular, and his actions have immediate results that are easy to grasp

It takes an incredible amount of skill to drive an F1 car, far beyond the abilities of some pleb engineer.

Engi can do the job till he is 80.
Driver till he 30? Then he flips burgers.

> be stemfag
> be middle-class
> mfw lying Chad salesman makes more money

Because the driver has to maneuver the car around a track at 300km/hr for a few hours inches away from other cars. The driver also has to completely memorize the track layout and where to position himself and what speed to be at for every corner. He also has to monitor tyre wear and fuel consumption and time his pitstops perfectly to avoid losing time in a race where fractions of a second count.

this is why we need to have some kind of autonomous nascar-like race, where you have several different companies competing with different designs of cars. none of this boring stock car shit. like battlebots, but with hot, nasty, badass speed.

>what is the constructors title?

t. F1 engineer

they're too smart to care about fame

Because people love heroes. Drivers are heroes, engineers are not.
>that pic
That nigga BTFO by nice german guy this year btw.

Same reason why pilots get the pussy while mechanics get to fondle each other for warmth.

So pretty much what any pleb that plays a decent sim game does.

>Because the driver has to maneuver the car around a track at 300km/hr for a few hours inches away from other cars
Today's cars are as safe as they come. I don't take away anyone's driving skills though.
>The driver also has to completely memorize the track layout and where to position himself and what speed to be at for every corner
That's not too difficult. An average track has about 4 miles and 15 corners.
>He also has to monitor tyre wear and fuel consumption and time his pitstops perfectly to avoid losing time
That's what his team does for him these days (real-time telemetry). They could basically control his car from the pit wall.

Modern F1 is like a real-life computer game. Not much challenge left.

Yes except the driver is a hero because he risks extreme danger while doing so.

Life is all about RISK

you can only win what you are willing to lose
