As I was on the train I started browsing here more and exploring right wing thought. Started watching Firing Line, reading Sowell, Nozick, Goldwater, etc. Still lean left on some issues like being anti interventionist and pro environmental regulation (but I use conservative reasoning for these conclusions), but I'm basically the anathema to my 15 year old self. It feels great
I stopped being a leftist when I realized that labels are fucking retarded. My current political position united themes from Left, Right and centre to create a syncretic political view.

Back when I was in my late teens (I'm 31, I really shouldn't come here) in the early 2000's, the left was a lot stronger in Hungary and was able to influence young people (nowadays most young people apart from a very small but loud SJW minority in Hungary are either apolitical or right-wing as fuck despite disliking Orbán, but that's another story).
My first 'redpill' if you will were my classmates in HS. Most of them were young Socialist sympathizers, usually from working-class families (my parents were somewhat well-to-do intellectuals). I was your typical introvert and guess who they used to bully. It made me wonder: leftists are just cunts with political slogans to make themselves feel better. Many more 'redpills' followed later.

I was extreme left until a couple of years ago. I transitioned to center slowly over time. Part of the transition was because I saw and heard ideas that challenged the narrative of the extreme left. Worked my ass off to attain upper middle class level of success despite no connections or handouts. Began paying 35% tax and still had people telling me I should pay 50% or 75% or 90% despite how hard I worked. Realized that when libs say "the rich should pay their fair share" they really mean "give me free shit and bill it to everyone who worked harder than I did". Became fiscal conservative.
Separately, I had a friend who was born intersex and hated himself for it. He was constantly depressed and could never fit in anywhere because of it and eventually killed himself. Then I see these faggots running around like "teehee today I'm a girl now" which is basically diminishing the struggle of people born with a legitimate genetic disorder. Realized that trannies are just attention whores making light of people born with actual defects that they will never get over. Became social conservative.
