Linux?

Is Linux the most Redpilled OS?

I've been thinking about switching over to it ever since I heard that Microsoft can have access to everything on your computer.

Install Gentoo faggot

yes
linux protects your freedoms

Linux is as redpilled or bluepilled as you make it.

But LoseThos is by far the most redpilled OS, with Plan 9 as runner up.

How hard is it to switch over?

Should I wait until I get a new computer?

>Linux
GNU/Linux*

Richard Stallman go away

Doesn't really matter. Both your motherboard and your hard drive controller are compromised at the physical level.

Use what you want.

>he fell for the microsoft jew

TempleOS or bust, buddy

This.

Get a thinkpad with libreboot and install Gentoo.

How So?

>Is Linux the most Redpilled OS?
Its pretty comfy. No worries about bot programs running in the background.

>inb4 Linux Mint lel

install arch

What are the benefits of each?

The govt can track your online presence regardless of what OS or browser you're using.

It's hilarious that people think that by using linux and tor that they are somehow "anonymous".

Online anonymity doesn't exist. Your device has to identify itself when connecting to the internet.

t. ITfag

LInux is ez but you have to be commited to losing skype and all your other botnet programs. You can still use them but to do so kinda defeats the purpose of linux.

Just install your desired distro to a usb (not gentoo or arch if you're a pleb) then plug it in a reboot your pc and it'll install. Format your pc though when you do it.

>Redpilled

You keep using that term, but I don't think you know what it means.

Even if this conspiracy was true, couldn't you just order hardware from China or some shit? Not every nation in the world gives a shit about manufacturing NSA backdoors in their products.

You can dual boot your PC. I like Ubuntu for simple tasks. I also use Windows 10 and Mac. Why should I limit myself?
You can also disc or usb boot it and try it out. It will shock you the first go around but you quickly adapt. Frankly I've come to love their Terminal.

they are just spewing Sup Forums memes.
just install ubuntu, it's easy and there's no NSA

>Arch
>4.4

Na this is the most red pilled OS

you did a full HD ips mod on your t420? I'm impressed, what screen did you use?

Linux is no magic security bullet. But if you're more technically minded you might find it to be thoroughly just easier in spite of all its constant irritations.

Haven't tried gaming on it since playing that first 3D zelda game in an emulator in the late 90s, so I don't know if gaming is still a big fucking deal.

>ubuntu
>no NSA

Linux is so hard.

I installed Fedora 25 but getting audio to function is a bitch and a half.

I wish, those kits are a pain to get a hold of.

I'm just using a dock and external monitor.

oh right obviously

The Amazon app is the NSA of Ubuntu. :)

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called “Linux”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use.
Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called “Linux” distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

Even more fun is what's been installed on the foreign supply chain end. If the shit ever hits the fan it's probably going to be a clusterfuck of competing hidden code.

Hi, Sup Forums here, linux falls under the gnu licence. The gnu resembles communism.

Although not redpilled, Linux is bluepilled, and the openess of its licence is the core feature that is holding it together.

It has allowed a slew of ways to customize your OS as a whole.

But linux is not an OS. It is a kernel. The peice of software that talks to the hardware and your other software.

I have Mint in my laptop, is as fast as Win 7, it has some very interesting apps and I an browse the web and work in documents without any problem. And is all visual, doesn`t require any knowledge of software.

>Is Linux the most Redpilled OS?
Which one? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Took your fucking time m8....

Linux and AMD is the only redpilled option when it comes to computing.

Dude so much of the world is owned by kids with too much time on their hands it'd make your head spin. Binary distribution just makes it that much easier to spam out zero days.

It`s compromised since 2007, but it`s the best one we can have now.

This. But any Linux distro other than Ubuntu is a good placebo. Just install Mint and be happy.

>How hard is it to switch over?
Depends on which distro you choose and how familiar you want to become with how the system operates. It's really as hard or easy as you want to make it.

But If you're going to restrict yourself to whatever DE the distro comes prepacked with and never even bother to learn anything about how to use a shell then I wouldn't even bother switching in the first place.

>Should I wait until I get a new computer?
no

You should trying installing any distro you want on a virtual machine before actually going through with such a drastic change.

You should do that any time you want and try to familiarize yourself with it.

If you're a lifeless loser with too much free time and you actually want to git gud at linux then I suggest going in hard with arch or gentoo.

If you're a "command line? are u a hacker?" normie and you don't even care then go with ubuntu or mint.

how so?

There was one attampt once and that's all I can remember

Not OP.
Thanks for clearing that up. I've heard it before and since I'm an idiot it has been hard to understand. Your post made a lot more sense then other lectures I've heard.

Linux mint lal

Gentoo is linuz, faggot.

>listening to the interjection pasta unironically

laughingstallmans.jpg

>You should trying installing any distro you want on a virtual machine
How do I do that?

I'd use Linux if Adobe supported it. That's the one thing stopping me.

depends on the distro

Hit a quick joogle search and figure it out. Any retard can do it.

>Year of the Linux Desktop

Only APPLE is the true camouflaged redpill.

> muh freedoms
Who needs you, fucker? You are a politician or what?
You think somebody is interested in your porn preferences?
You are stupid and dumb, if (((they))) wanted to find you they'd do it regardless of any OS.
Nobody is interested in you.
The owner of silk road was a good programmer, he used all kind of actions aimed to get you max anonymity n shit, so it would be impossible to track you. He wrote an utility on a level of hardware, the utitlity which erases and fucks up all data on hard disk(s) in a moment if you just close the laptop cover without having done certain actions before closing. They ambushed him in a library and an FBI-agent managed to grab his hand and immediately tear out the laptop.
So, if you have some valuable critical info they will find you anyway. Stop being paranoid you mong.

get a vm and run an image of the linux distribution of choice

Redpilled is a pretty retarded term, I prefer "woke"
