Quit whining about your shitty life choices and get back to pouring my coffee.

it's AA degree bitches wanting to be included.

It's STEM. STEM, without the A.

At least make it "memes". Science is fun kids!!

One of these things is not like the others, one of these things just doesn't belong, can you tell which thing is not like the others by the time I finish my song?

Mathematics

We don't WANT to import H1Bs, fampai but there's just no qualified Americans!

>people ITT think Art means "librul arts"

Art means being able to create aesthetic shit. there are tons of jobs for people that can actually draw/paint/sculpt/whatever. it is a completely viable and lucrative career as well as a staple profession of modern civilization. Hitlers reich wouldn't have looked half as good if it wasn't for Hugo Boss.

art is important with how to design a product or invention, thats pretty important since most stem kids are pretty autistic and dont have an eye for design, anything else they're useless

Social Science
Theatre
Education
Multidisciplinary

Dont lump all of Liberal Arts majors with the Arts majors

History here, im still excluded by that but idc

Anti vegan

Honestly, they could cut out everything except for Engineering and Technology, and then you would only have majors with job prospects.

dude...

This.

Back in undergrad they asked us if we wanted the student government to adopt a pro-STEAM attitude or something. As a STEM student I wrote them a letter succinctly but thoroughly eviscerating the proposal. They never brought it up again. Realistically they probably just didn't get any support but I like to pretend that my letter made a difference.

REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Doesnt mean it has any connection to stem.
Besides you dont get an art major if you want to create art.

>A

This is what an art student would say. Bullshit. Some dude that goes through fucking DiffEQ to get a job in advanced engineering sciences shouldn't be in the same category as some shithead that got a 2.0 in HS but "has a really good eye for like... design and aesthetics, y'know?"

Fuck art kids I fucking hate art kids so much.

>tfw love science
>tfw too dumb to get any science related degree because there's too much fucking math involved and I fucking hate any math that isn't closely related to geometry

Rolf this is so true

GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY UNIVERSITY YOU LIBERAL TRASH REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

>Mfw someone says drawing/painting/sculpting is a viable career
They should just use CAD or do Web design, which are half art half information specialities. Which ironically both fall under the technology branch

What STEM major do your friends have?

RRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

that's better

If you cant get a fellowship for grad school you shouldnt be in grad school.

Artistic Engineering

>but "has a really good eye for like... design and aesthetics, y'know?"
im actually in Civil eng
>Fuck art kids I fucking hate art kids so much.
goddamn dont get your panties in a twist, i never said the math student should be next to the retard from art school but you cannot say that design isn't key when marketing a product also a lot of tech schools have graphical design

>Autistic engineering
sounds fun

...

I googled it and it might actually exist.. you are not trolling right?

Purge

Why is art in there.

Replace art with law or economics then your good.

Ive seen the STEM-H meme around, for adding in health to the meme pathway.

...

>design isn't key when marketing a product
working on shit that is marketed to general public is pleb-tier

aerospace/defense master race

>A

Posting superior version.

Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics all interlock with each other, so it makes sense, but art has fuckall to do with it.

>Civ eng.
My bad, that's pretty god-tier.
Anyway-
Modern design is so predictable, sterile, and plain that you could probably eliminate that creative component without deviating too far from what's currently being produced. I'd probably be inclined to believe you if art students were innovating but it seems like the only time anyone innovates past that shitty neon-colored minimalism that's popped up everywhere is when they make something totally degenerate and offensive to look at. Even then, artists should be *consulted by engineers at most. Function is prioritized higher than form in most cases so artistic liberty (>implying) would be bottlenecked by more important factors anyway.

>A

As a professional artist, Art degrees are a waste of money. Either you have talent, ability, and drive, or you don't.

Literally everyone I know who makes a full time living in the arts does not have a degree, and everyone I know with a degree waits tables to pay it off while living in poverty.

this is the literal embodiment of a participation trophy for liberal arts snowflakes

go to your advisor and change from genderqueer studies to engineering and shut the fuck up jesus christ

by allah, anyone who believes the A deserves to be there can stone themselves

EVERYBODY GETS A TROPHY
>EVERYBODY GETS A TROPHY
EVERYBODY GETS A TROPHY
>EVERYBODY GETS A TROPHY

I'd advocate for business to be added to STEM of we're going to insist on mucking it up.

Christ, ANYTHING before arts. IDGAF what kind of art either. Call the cops. fuck you.

Foolish mortal, you cannot defeat the power of AAAAA!

Hitler was an Artist

>working on shit that is marketed to general public is pleb-tier
do you ever want to invent something or own a business? you're going to have to deal with the general public sooner or later

Shh, we don't talk about that.

delet this

Art is very important if you want to craft a glorious future, as that requires artistry. The problem is that queer theory interpretive dance faggots get lumped in with the likes of Michelangelo and co. and those faggots completely sully the field. I'm Electrical Engineering but I started out as a classical painter and I wish Sup Forums would at least acknowledge the distinction between great master artists and modern faggots.

>arts

>mfw the online music theory class i took as an elective is worth the same 3 credit hours as my fluid mechanics course

TFW engineering student
TFW surrounded by business majors who do nothing but have hookups and parties constantly

Fucking normiessss
I'm trying to study
I have real classes I have to pass
I don't have a meme major with easy exams i get to blow off
reeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Steam isnt hot air

>Even then, artists should be *consulted by engineers at most
even then this still shows that there is a place for design in engineering

Yes it is, hot air with a high water vapor content.

maybe finance

Really should just be SEM, "Technology" is just IT, which is what people who aren't smart enough to do Computer Science/engineering do, and is trash work.

The A better stand for Autism otherwise the acronym makes no goddamned sense.

As a computer science major it is similar. Joke will be on them though as we will be employable after college.

>All these people making fun of an arts degree

100k from job
+ 200k freelance on the side [Only see 2/3rds because taxes on freelance work is shit]
+ 5k Royalties from Prints of personal work

Thats about 237k a year, and all I do is just shit out quick illustrations.

Only problem with Art is that you need to work your ass off starting to get good enough to get a job, at least 6 years of no sleep study, because if you are a lazy fuck, your art is shit, and you will be forever alone because you'll never meet anyone other than super-left art crazies.

they will all be accountants or underemployed.

tfw a senior electrical engineer
tfw taking electives like intro telecommunications, guitar amplification, etc
tfw my only exam is open laptop (because we have the text on pdf, professor!)
tfw plenty of time to hook up and get drunk
tfw drinking while i type this because everyone else is studying

it ain't about the hand you're dealt, user, it's how you play it
also you're probably one of those freshmen who's like "dae engineering is so hard amirite i fucking love science xD"

Because CS is shit and all the engineers laugh at you cause you think you're one of them.

youre not an EE student lol

I've always wondered what the fuck they meant by "Technology"

Any real degree involving technology falls into either engineering or science.

who's paying you that many shekels to doodle ladies in the bathtub?

Business majors get internships as part of their major. They have entire classes on how to write resumes and cover letters and acing interviews. They teach you how to manipulate numbers to make more money.

t. Business Major

It's ok, he will survive it

Same with business and literally every other major

I just finished school at a community college and got my AA. if you stop at just an AA then you're a pussy. I'm going on to get a bachelor's in marketing. getting an AA is easy mode. You dont get praise for going through highschool 2.1

Engineering is definitely harder, but I will still make plenty of money after college.

>STEM acronym specifically used to refer to non-arts majors
>I know, let's just stick arts in there
Arts are still useless, and nobody is going to use STEAM and STEM interchangeably.

Also, why even refer to STEAM, what would be left out? Business?

>STEAM
>A

>Engineering is definitely harder
engineering what? Also CS is not a job. Not at all. So you guys are comparing apples to mayonnaise. Fucking again.

>Dont lump all of Liberal Arts majors with the Arts majors
>History here
You're major is just as useless, and deserve equal recognition.

it's the fucking dream
dean's list, EE, living the high life

don't get me wrong, the first two years were hard as fuck but i haven't done shit this semester and i'm getting a 3.0 for just showing up and doing projects

Do biology then, that's a little bit softer science, but pretty well respected as a science still. Almost no math, just statistics, which even doctors and PhDs in bio don't know how to use properly lots of the time (or purposely mess up to fit their intended findings, which is even worse)
