Used, met her in real life and she was a proper fitty.
I'm a big fan of the argument this set out, even if it's old. (It's not that Tories are literal terrorists.)
When you interact with people in the left, they really do jump to that so quickly that it's frightening. If you offered them a Tory election win followed by FULL COMMUNISM they'd reject it because "Muh Tories" which is infuriation for any non-Labour lefty. (i.e. SNP, Plaid, Socialist, Communist, Tommy Sheridan's Comedy Vehicle, etc.)
It's good for UKIP too, if you turn things around - for UKIP, Labour are terrorists. That's how the Tories use Labour. (Though things weaken here as all you can really say to a UKIP voter is "Vote UKIP" as opposed to "Vote for the guy most likely to weaken the guy you want to get rid of.")
I thought I'd share it, because it's quite a fun historical artefact as well.
>But what if terrorists attack? = But what if the Tories win? >And what are you willing to give up to stop this happening? Do you want to be unable to get permission to fart without an ID card? Are you willing to risk detention without trial? Lord Hoffmann said it best; "The real threat to the life of the nation... comes not from terrorism but from laws such as these." >Refuse to stand up to Blair and we sleepwalk into a police state. Refuse to stand up to Blair and we continue with a de-facto Tory government.
>And in both cases many cannot see the threat Blair poses because of the overwhelming fear of terrorism and/or a return to Tory rule.

>Making mendacious, dehumanizing, demonizing, or stereotypical allegations about the Irish as such or the power of Irish as a collective — such as, especially but not exclusively, the myth about a world Irish conspiracy or of Irish controlling the media, economy, government or other societal institutions. >Denying the fact, scope, mechanisms (e.g. potato famine) or intentionality of the genocide of the Irish people at the hands of Victorian Britain and its supporters and accomplices during the Great Hunger (Penal Laws). >Accusing the Irish as a people, or The Republic of Ireland as a state, of inventing or exaggerating the Potato Famine. >Accusing Irish citizens of being more loyal to Ireland, or to the alleged priorities of Irish worldwide, than to the interests of their own nations. >Drawing comparisons of contemporary Republic of Ireland policy to that of the SNP

The meme that politicians create overarching economic circumstances really has to end.
Sometimes policies (like the ERM) do cause economic fuck-ups, but on the whole politicians are powerless bystanders to market forces. Thatcher didn't save the economy either.

Yeah being an obnoxious twat will surely win your arguments support
When left-wing people first made it they thought that the nostalgic themes would evoke feelings of capitalist obsolescence and the long march of consumerism, instead it got co-opted by reactionaries as a symbol of a lost world of order and innocence
Pretty hilarious how a tiny culture war came about and was won by the Right just because of that meme 420 Floral Shoppe song going viral

It's time we stop seeing the Labour Party within the traditional label of "Socialism", as in the outdated and wrong economic system. Instead, we must pursue Social Justice within a capitalist framework, which I term "Social-ism"

Why don't the UK just send loads of 'refugees' to Northern Ireland?
All the 'refugees' are so desperate to be in the UK that if they imported enough of them over any notion of a NI wanting to unify with the rest of Ireland would be crushed.
That's what I would do if I was the Queen.

There are middle-class scumbags in Britain RIGHT NOW who are happy to admit to millions of their fellow countrymen that they voted in favour of us remaining a slave of a politically correct, sovereignty-sucking European Union, just for the sake of keeping wages at rock-bottom levels and the borders open so that they'll have to spend as little as possible on immigrant workers to wipe the shit from their arseholes when they're old

Labour's 2005 style actually makes my blood boil. I'm starting to get angry at all the ways they contrast things so plainly.
It's like "Toast for breakfast, or Tory Rees-Mogg churning a dog up in a cement mixer. Vote Labour."
The worst thing is that the "Or" reads like a special offer to the good thing, so it ends up sounding like Labour will give you the option of having the "bad" Tory option instead. Vote Labour and we'll give you economic stability OR an interest rates rise stolen from the Conservatives. We're not going to tell you which.
Which is honestly what voting for New Labour was like anyway, at least in 2001 when such a decision shouldn't have made one complicit in war crimes. A fluffy kitten OR a tuition fee hike? Go ahead. Make my day.

Galloway is a twat, but like most far-left twats he often manages to be occasionally based even when making a fool of himself.
It was all going so well for him until he appeared on Big Brother. Or on Television fellating Saddam Hussein. Whichever came last.
