We didn't. We negotiated a peace agreement and then South Vietnam lost the war.

that jackie chan?

see, we were doing this thing called nation building. we did pretty good in a bunch of other places and vietnam was turning out to be more trouble than it was worth. so we pretty much just bailed.

It's Misa Campo

U.S. killed way more V.C. than the other way around. It's just that the V.C. were willing to unendingly throw bodies out and the war was becoming politically unpopular.

We were on their side so if they lose we lose

thats a jap not a vietnamese....

because it was a proxy war.
you burgers always forget that USSR was on the Vietcong side, providing hardcore assistance
.
You didn't lose to the farmers; you lost to a communist empire that controlled 1/5 of the entire landmass of our planet

don't beat yourself up about it all the time

Same reason we lost the Iraq War. The pussy ass liberals at home brainwashed everyone to protest it and force us to go home.

Americans went in to fight commies but all vietfags wanted was to be liberated from colonial power. They seen the commies as the answer to the Franco-American invaders so decided to never back down. As for what happens after stupid low IQ vietkongs learned the hardway that colonial powers weren't all that bad.

We didn't try to achieve victory while there. Left a dependant country without support. And then more people died in the next three years after we left in a tiny neighboring country, than the 10+years we fought in Vietnam.

Shitty ROW

The war was never meant to be won

See Pol pot.

*ROE

fuck

THREAD HIJACK

Yo... is that flat stanley tho?

Lol yeah right most Americans think we didn't lose

No, because the war was already over for the US. It's like you totally ignored the "we negotiated a peace agreement" part.

Also see Syria.

The goal wasn't victory, it was for the continuation of the military industrial complex.

same reason they planned the 9/11 attacks

This. There is no money to be made in winning a war. So they drag shit out as long as possible. The last war that had a decided victor was WW2 - maaaybe Korea. At any rate, that's over 50 years ago.

The Vietnamese ended up taking out the Khmer Rouge

We were a belligerent on the losing side our side lost so we lost

Lol Korea?

One side had codes and rules of engagement to follow.
The other dug holes with spikes and swinging log traps.

They also beat back the Chinese. Would Pol Pot have happened if we had the balls for victory? But alas, it's true; history is complex.

Your too stupid to continue this conversation. You seem to think we were fighting North Vietnam until the end of the war, even though I've told you twice and you still haven't even used the internet, which is right fucking in front of you, to find out.

The Korean war never actually ended. It's just a ceasefire that's managed to last for half a century.

America is just not built for delivering freedom and democracy to middleweight countries in relative peacetime. We could 'germany' Germany, and 'japan' japan at the same time, but it took 50 frickin yrs of commitment!

Add S. Korea into that mix as well. 50+yrs of commitment. Yet old allies don't spend treaty obligations on defense. They're stale.

By never launching an invasion of North Vietnam. Imagine if the US fought WW2 but never invaded Italy or Normandy.

I just hope Trump has a 50+year commitment test on any war. Makes victory sure, and stupid wars less likely.

The war was deliberately prolonged because (((they))) were making money. The entire war was started by a false flag ffs.

Though I definitely do think Pearl Harbor and 9/11 were intelligence failures... The Golf of Tonkin, Lusitania, and the USS Maine were all taught as false flags (some 6 on a 1-10 scale, some 2) growing up in school . Early thirties and drunk obviously.

Perhaps false flag isn't the right term. It's more like we wanted shit too happen, and made sure it did. It's still weak stuff comparetavly to 95% of countries.

It is.

Two words: politicians and hippies.
