I have a thought experiment, Sup Forums. Please be honest here.
Would communism work if the following conditions were fulfilled >colony on another planet >they are filthy rich via asteroid mining >society is multicultural but they are all forced to be atheists
or is communism an inherently fucked ideology?
Nathaniel Taylor
The Fendippitous Eggmen are returning soon.

It doesn't work, m8.
Isaac Cruz
>would communism ever work? Yes, on the sun. All communists should try it on that beautiful paradise
Carter Wilson
>It doesn't work, m8. even under these conditions I listed??
Chase Morris
Human needs are infinite, you can never shave enough. They'll meet a point where communism's structure won't let them achieve something, like twenty different sorts of space cocaine or something.
Jackson Anderson
>forced to be atheists It might actually work if they were forced to be cultists of some sort.
Noah Mitchell
Communism could be anywhere, people not yet ready for it.
Julian Garcia
I'm pretty sure I read a story somewhere about American Pilgrims that tried something similar to communism and they got fucking wrecked.
Having certain assets/resources become so universally available that no one suffers is probably a better solution than communism.
The problem with communism is the same as libertarianism. Both require absolutely all the participants to agree to play nice and follow the rules and show good faith, or it falls apart really fast. This is why all Communist governments have been authoritarian and murderous.
Nolan Smith
It will never work unless people separate into groups of 500,000 people.
Julian Harris
Yes, it worked in Cambodia. Learn the history of Cambodia and read up on the Khmer Rouge.
Anthony Thomas
Never have*
Adrian Miller
that is a good point. What do you think is inherent about communism that becomes an obstruction to achieving really remarkable achievements?
Henry Walker
It would never work. If I lived on some rich colony I'd still want to own my own stuff. If I had communism forced on me I'd simply steal as much precious metals as possible, steal a spaceship and leave to Earth.
Fuck communism. It's fundamentally immoral and would never produce a happy society even if it worked.
Ethan Morris
No, because greed is inherent and when everyone is rich then no one is rich.
Charles Barnes
You must be 18 to post here.

People can't always work for social approval and golden medals. They need something physical. Something which Communism can't really provide.
Nathaniel Fisher
It was invented and perfected by the Jesuits in South America, the first communist plantations were called reductions because they mined and refined the gold that built the Spanish Empire. They communists were allowed to keep their culture but adopt Christianity, they later tossed that stipulation because it works fine without it as well.
The ideology is a means to an end, control over the people forced to live under that ideology. Slavery.
Easton Jenkins
humans are naturally selfish.
communism ignores greed, allowing it to fester into nepotism, corruption, and eventually these negatives clog the arteries of the country so much that it grinds to a halt, see Venezuela.
capitalism harnesses greed, using our biggest vice against us.
Brayden Barnes
Communism can only be enforced with an authoritarian government. No large community has ever decided to get rid of ownership and work for free to feed lazy bums without a gun being pointed at their head. That alone should tell you something about communism. If it was such a great idea to hand all your stuff to a corrupt government then we'd all do it.
In your retarded fantasy scenario people would not own anything and they'd simply get scraps from the government. You'd eat what the government wants you to eat. You'd live where government wants you to live. You'd watch and read whatever the government creates. That's a nightmare. That's not a dream.
A capitalist society living in your retarded fantasy would be much better. You'd have such a surplus of resources anyone could live a decent life and decide what they want to do. The government would be able to take care of the poor without stealing from the rich.
Cooper Gray
Communism doesn't ignore greed. It's founded on greed. All these idiots who want communism are just greedy little shits who think they would get more stuff under communism. They don't want to work, they don't want to make something of themselves. It's all just ''gibsmedat''. These people are the greediest little shits.
And the rich people who advocate communism only do it because they know they'll be millionaires like Fidel Castro in a communist society. They're not the one's who are going to get fucked by communism. They'll get to keep all their property and benefit from your labor.
Parker Scott
Commies in space would die of an air shortage within a month.
Nicholas Morales
>They'll get to keep all their property and benefit from your labor. there is a saying about it >in communism, everyone is equal, but some people are more equal than the others
Joseph Thompson
>I'm pretty sure I read a story somewhere about American Pilgrims that tried something similar to communism and they got fucking wrecked. intreresting, I'd like to find out about the sauce of this story
Xavier Myers
>communism takes a dictator-like rule on another planet with zero neighboring influence and unlimited resources to work There's your answer.
Thomas Foster
>implying we'd be able to INTO space if we mixed into brown sub-humans.
Sure some Poo in loos and chinks are smart but they lack the ingenuity on the whole to into space.
Andrew Johnson
"It wasn't true communism" "It's not real communism" "Communism works if you have the right leader" "Communism works in theory"
David Parker
Didn't the first American colonies work under a communist concept, where everyone worked to add to a collective pile and everyone got an equal share?
>cue starvation because there was no incentive to work >cue theft because those that did work harder thought they ought to earn more >cue population being reduced tenfold
Luke Cox
What will we do if the rich owns automation and resources+material? Let ourselves starve because we didn't pull by our bootstraps hard enough?
Adam Barnes
Sage this /leftypol/ garbage. It appears their raid hasn't ended yet. Sad!
Luke Martin
They're trying to collect data on why people think communism doesn't work so they could try to force communism on us later.
