On the subject of Peter.
You say he is the first pope,
I say He has no part in/of catholocism, nor vice versa.

Got nothing?

i agree

Excellent.

Should Paul have been the first pope?

youre not getting it
the issue is: popes have nothing to do with christianity

the very idea of a "pope" is a legacy of constantine's abomination

Acts really pisses me off
its a book about proving something that is entirely faith driven and then it implies that you should have faith in the "proof" that the romans got

also is the reason why Pentecostals do their gay tongues thing

Ah right. Yep, I agree. Evidence of why is it is bad is found simply by looking at the current pope: a communist who is helping the Church fall and turning christians into apostates

>no opposition

FFS

So what you're saying is that you're not really a Catholic.

.......
did you.....
did you read my initial post?
point in fact, im entirely and strongly anti-catholic

Catholicism lost all credibility when this guy became pope.

kek

yeah no
it lost it quite a very long while before that
very very long while
namely: at inception

are you Christian? If so are you any denomination?

Just look at his nose

no
but i aspire to be
i know what is required to be a follower of christ

Here you go my man.

"UPON THIS ROCK I SHALL BUILD MY CHURCH"
[Kepa = Rock]
Peter's confession was literally the template for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Peter is credited with writing two books of the Bible.

Those are kind of big.

If you are a protestfag, how do you claim to be a part of Jesus' church if it has no connection to that foundation - Peter?

The Papist are Wrong

Find me a verse where Jesus says "I hearby proclaim the doctrine of apostolic succession. no matter the depths of heresy and idolatry the Roman Catholic Church descents into, always listen to them and do what they say. Don't read the fucking Bible, plebs!"

Isaiah 22:22 (Check em)
I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
Matthew 16:19
I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.

I feel the same as this guy, the mere idea of pope is a hair away from idol worship.

>I feel
dropped

Where did Jesus say "These 66 books constitute the canon of scripture?"

I don't understand your point.

Where is your Biblical authority for the Truth of Scripture?

Did Our Lord say, "Only look at these books, and not others?"

Why would the Bible have to legitimize the Bible?

You either believe it or you don't.

did the Pope?

He was handed the keys, he's the vicar of Christ, just fucking deal with it.

Well, in the Bible we hear of Our Lord declaring that he will build a Church, and that Hell will not prevail over it. As this Church came from Jesus, it is inerrant otherwise Hell will have prevailed, and Jesus was a liar. The Church is inerrant because the Third Person of the Most Holy Trinity, the Holy Spirit, descended on it as Pentecost, and continues to guide it.

The Church, the one with successor of Peter at the head, declared those books to be canonical in an Ecumenical Council. Again, we have Jesus' promise that the Church is free from error, so we know they got the right books in there.

God gave you a brain (I'm pretty sure), not just feelings. You don't just "feel" the Truth, you work it out.

No shit sherlock.

You're the one promoting papist dogma.

>he's the vicar of Christ, just fucking deal with it.
no

Get off your high horse!

An athiest or a Jew may say "I don't feel the Bible is true." Plz tell me how they are wrong.

>catholic church claims peter

>therefore he is theirs, and theirs alone

kek

oh wow
awesome

yes? and?

even if so, doesnt make him catholic
to say nothing of the fact it certainly doesnt make him christ's "vicar"
rather just the high priest on earth

When did I say the word 'feel'?

thats a paraphrase, honey buns

Yes you dumb fuck, popes are people too; Peter was no exception... he screwed up, lost faith and began to sink after the miracle on the water, denied Christ 3 times etc. Christ chose him for a reason... they were precursory events of things to come. The Church is a divine institution with a body of those who are human. Look back on your life right now and lament all the sinful bullshit you have done,, remember it is impossible for man to get to heaven, but not for God.

Its a strawman actually

Simon Peter was Jesus' right-hand man. Jesus appointed him as "leader" of the "church." This much is pretty damn clear. What the Son of Man intended for his church or its leaders is another question entirely, but it's clear that Peter was chosen by Christ.

With exception to the circumcision debate, Peter was right about everything, and his epistles are better than Paul's.

Rlly maeks yoo tink

...

also a paraphrase

WHOA
that PROVES it
