no, because they aren't practical. attacks from criminals often come unexpected and a lot of time you don't have time pull a firearm. in shooting cases unless they have bad aim if they get first shot off you would be dead.

Things do not work like the movies and most criminals are not going to telegraph their planned attack.

then there is the "good guy with a gun problem" when cops arrive on scene to a shots fired call they don't who is who and if you are pointing a gun or discharging it at the "bad guy" the cops can mistake you for the criminal and open fire on you.

HOWEVER, there are people who make stockless semi-auto clones or parts kit builds that are classified as pistols. If you fill out an ATF Form 1 and pay the tax stamp you can put a stock on those and have a semi auto MP5
