These rich fucks can get helicopters
Also, motorcycles
Have fun dying. Motorcycles are only good for cruising on weekends on low-traffic streets.
Only idiots ride them in traffic. Plus, a professional can't show up looking professional after riding to work on one.
I wear a suit when I'm going to interviews, there is no reason you can't look profession and ride a motorcycle. As for dying, in red line traffic like that I lane split in first gear, MAYBE second if there is a lot of wiggle room. You can't go fast at all in high density traffic, there is no danger.
And you're still probably still going 10x faster lol. I accidentally got stuck in beltway rush hour one day not knowing it was going to be like that. Holy shit what a clusterfuck. 100% people in the beltway are insane considering they put up with that constantly.
I say we make tripple decker highways; the higher up you go, the longer distance before you can get off.
Yeah until a car or truck doesn't see you in their blind spot and wrecks you.
If you ride long enough, you'll be in a crash.
And your hair will never look good after taking a helmet of unless you have a buzz cut.
How'd you accidentally get stuck in it?
Put more buses
Buses are the absolute worst form of transportation. They are for poor and crazy people.
20x faster, it's so hilarious
You can't really change lanes in red line traffic, but go ahead and be a pussy
Drones
I was driving across a few states and just figured I'd use the shortest series of interstates since that's usually a good bet. I didn't know about the beltway or think about what time of day I'd be on it.
Nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure
>go ahead and be a pussy
Have fun dying, driving in bad weather, and God forbid you ever need to move anything.
Get fucked motorcycle fag. One tier above cyclists. Hipster morons.
Gotcha. I like your triple decker highway idea though. It makes sense. Just build up, like sckyscrapers.
>God forbid you ever need to move anything.
God forbid I have to spend $20-50 on a Uhaul.
Enjoy making tons of trips in your car and pulling your hair out in traffic, I'll be enjoying the breeze as well as your wife
Put more public transport around
youtube.com
Ah, the sad false manliness of motorcycle fags. It's the delusion that makes it sad.
Public transport is for fags.
move the capital to the trump tower
I think it would be cool to explore options for using trains to transport cars to major hubs more quickly / efficiently. A lot of times you just need your own car at your destination, but you don't necessarily want to spend hours driving it there versus just to and from the hubs.
Why ya got no high speed rail linking your most densely populated area, burgers?
traffic is a space problem
cant fit 10 cars in 5 meters of road
cant fit 100k cars in 10 km
can fit 100k motorcycles in 10 km
but they are dangerous
so this is the only solution, self driving little cars that fit 2 people max
Well, I don't know about any service like that except the uk-france tunnel
Is renting cars expensive in the us?
Because we actually value personal freedom.
Also, you are the size of Connecticut.
You are like baby. Me in commute right now
What if I want my car to transport my family and their shit around te city when they go there?
Depends on your definition of expensive. But the cheap options suck, you get stuck with one-way fees, and you can't carry your car load of stuff with you. But car rental is a pretty big business and an obvious option if you're like flying somewhere for vacation and then need something for the week or whatever.
The clogged arteries of the Heart of our Nation...
"muh freedom"
>implying you'd be forced to take it
if you like freedom so much, how about giving people more options to choose from huh?
By removing all red tape that prevents employees from working from home.
I'm a dyed-in-the-wool liberal, but I'd suck Trump's cock if he had the feds take over WMATA and doubled the capacity of the Beltway and I-95.
>needing a car to go anywhere is "freedom"
Deluded cagecuck
As long as it's cost effective and doesn't economically box people who aren't rich out of freedom.
I'm not super wealthy, but it's great that just the other week I rented a car and a motel room so I could buy a fun poor-man's sports car back home. And now it's always right outside my door and I can get in and go wherever I want with it at the drop of a hat and do whatever I want with it. Also great that I found a place to live where I don't have to waste it sitting in traffic twice a day.
>What if I want my car to transport my family and their shit around te city when they go there?
then you use a normal car,
but most people commute alone to work, a little car could becoma cheap option, very cheap gas, very efficient. right now theyre expensive though, just need the market incentive
divide roads in halves, fit same people in half the space. normal cars would use 2 lanes, same space they use now. normal cars get taxed unless thye have family like you have
Id rather live in a place where i can step outside my door and walk wherever i need to go or take the metro or subway if i need to go distances
Oh, I see
>carry your car load of stuff with you
I don't know, when I take the high-speed trains I usually load the maximum (2 luggages + 1 bag each person usually, no weight limit) and It really is a lot of stuff, at least for me
Only problem I look like a gipsy when wandering around the station
fire half the employees of the federal government.
I walk to work actually. Through a nice city park in fact. And I even have a modest yard, and the city has a pretty nice bus system that gets used very heavily.
>bus system
Trains are better in every way. Buses are slower and shake too much
>tfw 90% of the only freetime I have being a wageslave is spent waiting in Beltway traffic.
>tfw too scared to take the Metro because niggers stabbing each other daily
Well you'd have to plan the city around them. If you're talking a dense place like NYC then subway is clearly the way to go for most things. Different modes of transport work better for different situations.
Where do you work?
Look, in Europe it's bettered the whole traffic situation a lot, plus, since most initial connection were between relatively close cities but still made the time needed in train from 1-2 hours more than the one needed by plane (including the time to get to the airport and the 1-2 hours wait before being able to take the flight) to 1-2-3 hours less the airplane companies really felt the competition and began to either lower their prices or give top service aboard
Just having another transport system to be actually able to compete with the other existent ones better the whole situation by itself in my opinion
>Trump redesigns entire DC layout, removes satanic pentangle
Dude you have no idea how small your country is.
Or how cucked and reliant on the government you idiots are.
Public transport is for literal faggots.
fuck off we're full
...
Sure. The US is so spread out that planes quickly start to become the faster and cheaper way to go.
Commuter trains work better in smaller areas, and sometimes for medium distances.
trains in my home town literally have to wait for traffic to pass at minor intersections. I also live in one of the most liberal major cities in the country.
public transportation is a mess.
I know, that's why our speed connections are from Brussels to Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne, London
I can go to Paris in 1h20' only for example
that's what all public transportation is for
Once again, you have no idea how small your pitiful little continent is.
Anything worth taking a train is worth taking a plane.
Enjoy not taking day trips out to the country, cityfag.
Yeah, I know it becomes non practical for direct trips after a certain point, but surely inside some relatively highly populated area (the east and west coasts for example) even it going from one side to the other would still make too much time the intermediary trips could be beneficially affected
>implying I couldn't be to any place of my country with train + bus connections
I feel sorry for you. You have no idea how non-free you are.
>tfw bullet train in Texas by 2022
stay cucked in the stone age coasties
Well we have Aamtrak serving the East Coast (and actually you can get to a whole bunch of other cities that way). But they can't seem to make it cost effective for commuting. You can even get wi-fi or a place to sleep a lot of times. I've never used it though because either the schedule wasn't right, or the cost of a rental car to get from the train station to my final destination made it not worth it.
The LIRR on the other hand serves Long Island and areas near New York City, and that is offers pretty good service for average people.
I think we could probably do better with trains than we're doing now. It's a question of how to do it so as to make the investment worth it.
>muh freedom is consuming shekels while going at fast speed in the countryside
>not knowing the beauty of taking the bus until one place and then walking off in the countryside until you reach the woods at the beginning of a mountain's side, then going the other way through the top, arriving in another village, talking to people then taking the bus+train to come back home in the evening
Be afraid of Metro catching fire, like normal people.
Amtrak and even the Acela are slow compared to Euro and Japanese trains.
>Belgium
just lol
well, that's a big question
I know the UK has a project of building a HS railway without public funds, but the whole projecting + funding phases have been taking a long time, so for the moment I can't really value how good their service will effectively be
ITT: Liberals bitching about first world problems and citing that as legitimate reason to hate someone before they even become president
This shit never gets old but I'll humor you.
DC has always been super popular and cramped, since it's our nations capitol. There's very little we can do beyond expanding dong. Do you think they'll expand roads? I don't think so since most of the city is "historic" and could displace many "small" businesses.
So maybe ride a fucking bike or walk? That's what I'd tell people in Baltimore but it's actually dangerous there. People in DC have unconstitutional gun laws protecting them.
But yeah, just had to say that in case some nutjob leftist was going to insinuate that Trump would sooner nuke a major city than fix your petty problems. But hey, what do I know? I'm not actively hating Trump right now and am a moderate. I'm obviously a racist/sexist/bigot.
What changes a liberals mind? Another liberal. I was a liberal once, goddamnit!
>ITT I have but a couple (((arguments))), and boy do I have every intention to use them again and again in this thread - the user
Best idea I heard was moving all the smaller and some larger fed agencies to the middle of the country. Way too much wealth concentrated in DC.
Move more agencies to other states. Immediate reduction in traffic happens. D.C. stops being high employment/high property value location. Liberals lose valuable tax base in northern VA and southern MD. Niggers start moving back into north DC and sell crack. Homos can't stand reverse gentrification and move away from daily groidal fuxations. Power base of DC returns to Shithole status from whence in came
Maybe downsize on all the contractors as well. It's not clear to me that they're worth the money.
You simply have no concept of what you're talking about.
lmao is that goatse?
>just had to say that in case some nutjob leftist was going to insinuate that Trump would sooner nuke a major city than fix your petty problems
actually you didnt have to say that because no one was going to insinuate that. you tried so hard to look smart that you just ended up looking stupid
>Y-you don't understand...
>muh Unitedstatian exceptionalism!!!
>the user
He said he was going to shrink the government through attrition. There will be fewer jobs in the area soon enough.
My mom has been talking about this for years. There is literally no reason for all the federal groups to be all concentrated in DC. Especially considering how we can communicate so easily these days from thousands of miles away.
She also always says something to the effect of "every senator or representative from that state should get paid the average wage from the state they represent".
She's a smart gal. I completely agree with her there.
If the agency workload gets reduced, the contracts dry up after they end with no more re competes. No reason to downsize, the work just goes away
>every senator or representative from that state should get paid the average wage from the state they represent
I like that a lot. Also they can't make laws that apply to them differently, e.g. gold plated health care for them and something different for the rest.
i just thought the same thing hahaha
One of the biggest problems with so much work in DC is the federal govt can give a cost of living offset for employees which acts like a pay boost. If work was done in low cost of living areas, the federal government wouldn't be shelling out so much cash
If the media was actually fair this would have gotten huge play. The fact that all the congress/senate opted out of obamacare should have been a great indicator that they knew it was shit.
Stop living in spic infested shitholes you twats move to a real country
It's a good idea but there are some advantages to being close by.
For example, lots of things get filed in federal court in DC. And lots of documents do get physically shuffled between depts/Congress/White House.
I know it sounds easy to do with technology and PDFs but really being physically close is somewhat necessary.
Here OP have a rare tri-state
how much do you think shipping a box of documents costs, as opposed to having your rent/taxes being way higher?
It would be way cheaper to spread that shit around to the cheaper areas of this country where they actually do their work.
It's not the costs, it's the time.
I've gotten random things shipped overnight to me at my job multiple times. this isn't a matter of time at all.
This was just for testing shipping labels. It certainly wasn't as important as federal government documents.
>this isn't a matter of time at all.
Yes, it is. Things literally need to be exchanged/filed in a matter of minutes/hours.
then just e-mail it
E-mailing does not work for most statutory filings/submissions.
Lol. You're a pussy if you're afraid of cars. Just filter or make your presence known
Been riding for 3 years
I came here to post this. p. sure it's gonna happen too.
well shit. Like I said already, if you really need a physical copy it will be mailed to you within a day. time is still not an issue.
I don't think you understand how statutory deadlines work lol.
We already have the metro but only nigs use it
By living in his trump towers.
Who gives a shit about the east coast anyway?
I must not. What does it mean in DC?
>210
>Any time
>Not solid red
How cool must it be to have a flying house, and then basically castles all over the world can chill in whenever you want?
>Wheel and spoke cities
Burn it to the ground
Some things must actually, literally be physically delivered by a certain time.
What else can I say? That's just how it is.
cant lane split in VA
Do it anyways, you don't see cops in red-line traffic and even if there were they are just as trapped as everybody else
Do it illegally and tell the cop you're sorry. It's not a big deal.
