With strict disclipine, order and lead by enlightened despots this state pioneered the German Empire. After the monarchy died in 1918 the state would be legally removed by Hitler in 1935 and then completely abolished in 1947 by the Allies. Many people believe that its aggressiveness and macho, military ideals destabilized Europe leading to the rise of fascism, WWI, WWII, etc. Its authoritarian style created people like Bismarck but also Hitler. all i know is a lot of them were farmers and one younger guy became a school administrator for a school in what is known as Brandenburg Germany today. I think a few of my other ancestors became Lutheran pastors and followed Martin Luthers teachings.

An interesting thing is that Wilhelm II, after his abdication and exile in the Netherlands, strongly opposed Hitler's ambitions. He criticized the Jewish pogroms and burglary, at some point even saying he's ashamed to be German.
