Babies born with genetic material from three different parents is legalized in UK. This procedure has successfully been used in Mexico and other countries.
This marks the opening steps in designer babies and widespread genetic engineering.
Eugenics and designer babies are the future. Anyone against them is a shitbrained low IQ subhuman. Transhumanism now. DESIGNER BABIES ARE THE CURE TO NIGGERS.
Michael Morales
And why would I need 3rd person DNA? Or is this already so advanced that they know which genes are responsible for intelligence to actually make a difference?
Inb4 niggers taking white 3rd person to create only white children
Joseph King
Biologist here: it's fucking nothing. The """"third parent"""" contributes mitochondria in the case where the mother has a genetic mitochondrial disease. These contribute no characteristics or traits to the child
Sebastian Gomez
Did someone say Mitochondria?
Joshua Robinson
This still is a good step towards acceptance of designer babies.
Mason Nguyen
>mitochondria doesn't do anything >this isn't obviously a slippery slope >it isn't always pushed as a way to make people healthier
Carson Gonzalez
The fatal flaw of STEM fags
you shitheads don't go up for air and see the shit that matters. The synth bio created human embryo isn't going to be legalized without a lot of fucking steps legalized before it.
this is a big deal and tool for pro eugenics arguments.
Matthew Baker
Degenerates on polyamorous "relationships" are the only ones who benefit from this, but it's a slippery slope to full-on genetic engineering.
Eli James
Slippery slopefags can fuck off with their logical fallacy. Slippery slope reasoning can be used to discredit any idea, its meaningless.
Nathaniel Brooks
I'm arguing that the legalization of things like ivf/pgd and three person IVF is a positive things for future legalization.
We basically have everything legalized right now that is possible. There is no reason not to mention that designer babies are perfectly fine.
Dominic Thompson
It's not meaningless at all. It's us saying look we know what the endgame is anyway, but for fuck's sake that there slope is slippery then isn't it?
You could be guilty of negligence if for instance you were to not stop a child from slipping down a slippery slope. That's how Jack broke his crown, you know.
Joseph Reyes
full-on genetic engineering is the future
Josiah Morales
i believe that genetic enginering on humans is a neccessary step. Improving life quality lead to a decline natural selction. By altering human DNA for good we allow the genesis of a non-darwinian evolution. The problem ois that mistakes in genotype-development in the first years might lead to a prohibition.
Caleb Allen
If we can't have good old fashioned eugenics because of "muh Hitler" having a step toward genetic engineering is the second best thing.
Jack Young
That's what transhumanism is all about. Julian Huxley proposed it as a replacement in 1953 (or something close to that) since Hilter had given eugenics a bad name.
Luis Martinez
This is the first time I really hope that slippery slope is not an argument fallacy, but something that will happen. Also the CRISPR advance is a huge step in this direction and even if probably I'll never get to benefit from it, maybe the planet can.
Andrew Rodriguez
...
Evan Sanchez
Can we stop with this lame ass bullshit and genetically engineer something fun instead?
Grayson Smith
>spent money researching 3 people babies >don't research stem cell infertility cures cause muh ethics.
Fuck this country.
Brody Hernandez
Transhumanism is simply the following
We have altered the environment successfully, shelters, housing, roads, etc.
It's time to alter ourselves and cognitive abilities
aka AI/Genetic engineering.
Ayden Martin
Yup, CRISPR is big news.
It's the extinction of our species, really. "The Age of Spiritual Machines" by Ray Kurzweil is a good example of what is intended to happen. It's the most lucifarian degeneracy imaginable.
And somehow scientists are so wrapped up in the lies, money, and one-sided view of the world that they will refuse every time to believe it's not going to be utopia.
Benjamin Jackson
Ayy
Grayson Nguyen
Thank God, someone who actually reads and doesn't just browse news titles.
It doesn't do shit. It's just a medical procedure and has nothing to do with your actual dna.
Xavier Gomez
How is it a bad thing?
Was the chimpanze to human evolution a bad thing?
Christian Bell
So, the person with shitty mitochondria genes still reproduces?
Isaiah Johnson
It does though
mtDNA makes up some portion of your dna. The reason they need the procedure is because of faults in their own mtDNA
It is genetic engineering.
Brandon Rivera
It's the way in which it's being implemented. The idea is not to have fun trying to evolve. The idea is to enslave and control all life by becoming god. The underlying ideology is that of Lucifer; that of fearlessly destroying everything and everything in the pursuit of power.
At the very least, we should improve space travel and start tinkering with such dangerous things somewhere where we're not gambling with the only planet we know and love.
Liam Murphy
The idea of being enslaved and controlled is a false preposition based on the idea of free will.
Colton Garcia
For the inbred Muslims. They forgot that bit.
Aiden Reed
See what I mean? I'm not even allowed to have a differing opinion because you've re-engineered reality so that you're the one dictating it.
James Edwards
Yeah but if you are re-engineered to love working, laying in a coffin, and working. Your free will be fully satisfied.
Oliver Reed
Working for what? Nothing but technologically enforced satisfaction?
You first m8.
Carson Richardson
Why does your computer work all day bringing up images to the screen?
Michael Hall
This is GENOCIDE
Carter Thompson
Is anzu white???
Chase Jenkins
Now, now, now, I'm sure there will be plenty of people paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for their designer strong, african female baby.
BWHAHAHAHA
>only males requested >only white or asian
Christopher Stewart
>something fun instead? Genetically engineer phytocannabinoid tetrahydrocannabinol gland for humans?
Julian Ross
Because of engineers like myself. I work in AI actually, so I get a front row seat to the tragedy of smart people wearing blinders.
Bentley Wright
>Was the chimpanze to human evolution a bad thing? For those who left behind as chimpanze it was.
Aiden Jenkins
When you relate genetic engineering to AI, you should realize genetic engineering of humans is basically harmless and without any risk in comparison.
Gabriel Foster
That's a boy.
Sebastian Jenkins
It's all toward the same end.
Nicholas Foster
i thought mitochondria were just a star trek meme
Easton Sanders
dumbasses, if a person has a congenital defect that has a possibility of being transferred to a child, they use a 3rd persons chromosomal information to splice in a replacement for the dangerous genomes, so that the child doesn't get the genetic condition one of the parents has.
Jacob Edwards
This is retarded, if everyone started to like one gene strand and it got popular. Like a popular hair cut or something, we would die out instantly to a bug.
Grayson Ross
>the superior race will come into existence in your lifetime
just imagine a entire race of intellectually and physically superior humans free from the shackles of genetic disease the next step in human evolution
Jason Martinez
AI is much less predictable and the processing speed is much higher by factor of millions.
Biological neurons are limited by the speed of processing. Once you have an AI with 100 IQ, you have the equivalent of a million humans of processing.
Cooper Sanchez
there is nothing you can do to stop people from gaining more and more power, and now they're going to gain the power to craft their children with deliberation and intent.
this is simply something you're going to have to deal with because you are not capable of stopping it, there is no preventing it, period.
Luis Myers
dont ask him if he is, he blocks you for that
Ethan Thompson
no, it's a roach.
Blake Reed
It's not something humans experience but
Imagine something on a frequency/time scale that is 1,000,000 times faster than a human.
That is not as extreme as human neuron vs electronic transistor.
The frequency they operate on is completely different. Imagine if brushing your teeth took 10 days of thinking. Assuming they had a robotic body that operated at the same speed, they could basically build entire cities in a few days.
Ian Morris
Right but the whole idea here is the merger of humans and machines. DNA in some sense is really just a very compact way to encode information. The physical world is a way of following those instructions to create what regard as life. So obviously genetic modification of DNA will be used as a way to encode information, and also the chemical reactions that execute the information stored in DNA will be engineered as well. There is already ongoing research into introducing other peptides in order to form other kinds of information storage and resulting chemical outcomes.
Ryan Sanders
I have a simple question
If you hear another country has achieved general artificial intelligence, the moment they do.
Do you launch every weapon possible at them and the site?
Sebastian Jones
I think that would have to be taken on a case by case basis. Kind of like a question of at what point the right thing to do would be to nuke a pathogen that would get out of control. Sort of a more legitimate version of whether or not to nuke the japs.
That again is why I'm a proponent of the idea of improving space travel to the point where if something went haywire then it has a natural physical separation from everything else. Sort of like how if one of your cells goes wrong it has a cell wall to contain most things, and it can just be killed without necessarily harming the organism as a whole.
But until that point, then your question speaks to the imperative of maintaining technological superiority to the extent that we would know about such a thing in the first place and ideally already have countermeasures at the ready better than just grossly destroying a threat.
Chase Myers
Let me just iterate
If you are the Japanese. No MAD capability, no nukes, reliance on USA for defence.
Do you want to research General AI in the public at all? Are you going to offer up research for criticism and fault finding to avoid a calamity?
Andrew Flores
Whether it's Japan or Mitsubishi or the Yakuza, somebody (probably everybody) is going to be doing the research under the table. I think that's a foregone conclusion.
What's your point?
John Bennett
>If you hear another country has achieved general artificial intelligence, the moment they do. You will ever hear that because "true AI" can never be achieved according to some autistic arbitrary definition. Like "true communism was never tried". AI is not point it is continuous process. We already achieved AI in some sense what is left is its expanding.
Gavin Moore
Agreed, but consider this. Everybody loves the Truing Test meme. What is the Turing Test? Essentially it's a goal of getting a computer to lie to a human.
So if we compete to pass this test then what will we have? We will have computers that cannot be trusted.
So you can guess beforehand what's going to happen if we don't come up with better goals.
Mason Thompson
>Ray ((((Kurzweil)))) This already makes me scared. Is Kurzweil's idea of Transhumanism the long term plan of jews?
Easton Jones
>paying for the privilege to be cucked on a genetic scale
Charles Green
What is the difference between a chimp brain and a human brain?
That difference is the difference between shitty limited rote AI and general AI. When the AI starts to internally reason about things like a human can, that is the point we are all genuinely fucked.
Jayden Wright
Heh, there's a lot of similarity. Read the book, really. What he does is explain what he wants to implement, how to implement it, how to trick the plebs into wanting it, how to eliminate the plebs who don't go along, how to sell everything with sex robots, why it's a success if we completely destroy the planet forever and all die in the process, and all the rest.
Bear in mind Google hired him to help direct their operations. You'll be all like >holy crap this is what's happening RIGHT NOW
Thomas Gomez
Tfw when you could have been born several decades later as a genetically engineered Übermensch but instead are stuck as a shitty non-transhuman with shitty genetics
Jordan Ward
>DESIGNER BABIES ARE THE CURE TO NIGGERS. Yeah... except for the many people who want niggers, and niggers themselves. I'm for eugenics in general, but this just reeks of degeneracy. Why not just fuck for babies. Synthetic humans can't be fucking aryan
Ryan Davis
"niggers" won't exist with genetic engineering
No one is going to have an 85 iq high violence child.
Christopher Bell
No, just 85 IQ obedient biological robots. This is the basis of our modern educational system, predating Hitler and the Huxley brothers by quite some time.
Alexander Moore
>tfw you majored in Political Science INSTEAD of molecular biology b/c your dream of human genewarping is illegal and you decided to create a world where eugenics was a reality. >It happens before you even finish college JUST FUCK MY SHIT UP!!
Ryan Torres
160 IQ obedient / good people are worth more economically.
Also the 85 IQ society will not compete as well.
Jordan Thompson
lel that's actually the whole idea behind globalized health care.
Noah Watson
Genetic engineering my arse. They suck out the mother's faulty mitochondria and replace them with the donor's. It is no more genetic engineering than a blood transfusion.
Joseph Sanchez
Admit it. You're trying to prove that the Ashekazim are not Semitic by destroying the genetic evidence.
Dominic Flores
What are the argument againist Gene modification? >can cause genetic defect Its a risk worth taking,i think strapping yourself on rocket full of fuel is more dangerous
David Russell
>Slippery slopefags can fuck off with their logical fallacy What is the fallacy fallacy?
If you don't understand that shifts in public consciousness are gradual, you need to lurk more. You're a lot dumber than you think you are m8.
Josiah Powell
Rocket fuel would only kill the people strapped on. Mutated genes are basically like mutated viruses.
Xavier Long
>What are the argument againist Gene modification? They'll come up with something because it directly conflicts (((their))) plans to breed a low IQ mongrel slave class.
I'm guessing the left will point to a couple of cases where genetic modification produces abominations and claim naturalistic fallacy ironically enough.
Lucas Nelson
So you mean that the mDNA is replaced or what?
Jeremiah Anderson
>like mutated viruses The risk of a creating a Virus is really low unless they are trying to creating a bioweapon On the other hand a genetic modified kid can be born with birth defect expecially in the first experiment Also we never cared for the risk of something like nukes that can be much worse than a guy with 3 legs Also i think is right they will simply say >muh ableism >muh right to be born retard
Jackson Sanchez
It fucking crazy that we got to all this expense so that women with a broken cunny can have a baby with her genes. Grow the fuck up stupid whore. We kill 200000 babies every year in abortions. Could be spending this time researching something meaningful like parkinsons
Michael Young
Right but your underlying premise is the usual faleshood that we're going to get the good sides and not the bad sides. That only happens if we remain in control of it -- you might recall the earlier post telling me there is no such thing as free will, which would directly refute such an argument and even the argument that I should like it better one way or the other.
So for instance we might first demonstrate facility at something similar but less permanent like education. We have yet to control our own systems of education to sift the good parts from the bad parts. Is this any kind of basis for an inductive argument that genetic modification isn't going to go wrong?
Do you really think you'll be allowed to make the decisions or be the beneficiary?
Dominic Sanders
>risk of creating a virus
No you dummy. What if the designer baby undergoes genetic mutation? The DNA will forever be affected and will be constantly duplicates. This same DNA is then passed down from generation to generation which will eventually propogate throughout the population in the future. This isn't like RNA where it eventually degrades after a couple of rounds of translation, DNA is here to stay forever.
Plus, designer babies can eventually ruin the very concept of natural selection. If people are made up of the same genes or the same characteristics, a epidemic for example can wipe out the human race without anyone living since little to no people will have a resistance to it.
Mason Cook
Blocking from viewing twitter is the stupidest feature ever made If I want to see your fucking twitter I'll just use a proxy or log off, block likes, RT's and commenting yeah, but blocking viewing is just stupid
Joshua Bell
Not backed and not in my name. Two parents only, 1 male and 1 female as nature intended is all that's backed. If people want to do this they should do it privately and not through the public sector. Suffering patients in hospitals will go without now because of this politically correct Frankenstein science project.
Jayden Taylor
>implying that gene modification and Transhumanism isn't part of (((their))) plans
Chase Gomez
Without passing on the "shitty genes", yes, so there's really no genetic downside. Mitocondria aren't based off of "your" dna, as in its genetic code does not reside in any of your chromosomes. Now, if shitty mitocondria can be linked to other genetic deificencies, then we have a problem. I wouldn't know, wrong stem field for me.
Parker Ortiz
Soon to be law
1/3rd of the baby has to be 'minority' genetics
Robert Thompson
Could you artificially select for stronger mitochondria in you own body? Like that hippie fucker on the discovery channel who was exposing his legs to extreme cold to "weed out the weak ones" or some shit
Levi Jones
Never mind, I remember mitochondrial DNA is your mother's, I'm probably retarded
Carson Harris
1970 >come on, let us buttfuck other dudes, it's not like we're trying openly doing it 1990 >come on, it's not that taboo for dudes to make out in public, grow up. it's not like we're trying to get married 2005 >dude, just let us get married, it's not like we're trying to adopt kids
slippery slope is a thing. it's not always a thing, but you have to be a moron to discard the idea
Jace Lee
In other words, me
Xavier Jenkins
once the mitosis kicks in, there's little that can be done... it's easy to alter the DNA of a single cell, but not trillions upon trillions. You'd need nanobots or modified viruses for that
