(CNN) - Death rates from synthetic opioids, including fentanyl, increased 72.2% from 2014 to 2015, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday. The new report confirms the dramatic increase in opioid overdoses that first responders have been seeing as they respond to overdose calls.
Fentanyl is 50 times more powerful than heroin and made headlines as the drug that killed pop star Prince in April. The elephant tranquilizer carfentanil, a form of fentanyl and 10,000 times stronger than morphine, has also been claiming lives in a number of cities, as reported by local officials.
The new report says the latest available data found that 33,091 people died from opioid overdoses in 2015. That number combines prescription and illegal forms of the painkiller that can also send users into a state of euphoria. They account for 63% of the 52,000 deaths from any type of drug overdose in 2015, up from 2014, when 61% of fatal overdoses were due to opioids.
They had to take 600mg Tylenol off the shelf for a while because people were too stupid to not take it with nothing else.
This is just dwaranism taking effect.

who is dwaran
Kayden Murphy
opiods are fucking trash, when are we finding alternative painkillers?
Jackson Nguyen
Apparently literally nothing else works as well for pain.
Christopher Phillips
>Fentanyl is 50 times more powerful than heroin
I really don't understand why anyone would think taking this was a good idea. I would imagine even most "THE NEXT BIG HIGH" users aren't even this retarded.
Angel Nguyen
We have several but the medicine industry is a business and getting rid of opiods would also get rid of its addicts. And that would be bad for business
Same reason we still use fossil fuels

Care to point out these magic painkillers? Oh no you can't... Because they don't exist except in a figment of your conspiracy imagination
Don't forget to capitalise the 'b' in Big Pharam in your angry reply to this comment. Seriously fuck off and die
Henry King
It's a legal pain killer, but it's prescribed as a time released patch, so it's a slow steady steam of micrograms (like milligrams of milligrams).
Anthony Perez
>hur dur opioid is the new trendy drug, it's killing big ten of thousands.
the reality is 90% of theses deaths are suicides. Overdosing with painkillers & tranquilizers is one of the less painful way to die and the less scary to use.
Evan Barnes
Try getting surgery and relying on alternative pain medicine
Colton Parker
It doesn't even cross the blood barrier in your brain to get you high, is the sad part.
There was a story on bluelight.org back in its prime about a Chemist getting addicted to one of those fentanyl-analogs that are x50,000 more potent than heroin. Used for tranquilizing elephants/whales, etc.
>opiods are fucking trash I mean they literally create pleasure in your brain. If you're talking about the biproduct, I've tried almost every opiate out there and have somehow avoided addiction. I've never even had withdrawals from Opiates, besides from codeine which is shit tier. You can be use them responsibly. It is possible despite what the rejects who can't stop slamming heroin into their veins will tell you.
Brandon Allen
This No one gets hooked who isn't seriously depressed to begin with
Oliver Ortiz
Exactly. An Opiate overdose alone is a hell of a way to go if you're conscious. But opiates + benzos and you just fall asleep without waking up when your Central nervous system is fucking destroyed.
It's like gun related """deaths""" in the US. The majority are suicides.
And the addicts who ARE overdosing on Opiates, like I said, use responsibly or die. You're fucking with shit which literally produces endorphins in your brain, so of course addiction will be an issue and death even more so.
Christopher Ortiz
I think the addiction to opium is so high because it's a side effect of Millennial entitlement.
Just like every kid gets a participation trophy and told they're a special snowflake.
Every person is told they're not supposed to feel pain ever. You're not supposed to suffer.
This is the one thing that Catholics get right over anybody else. They realize you're supposed to fucking suffer because it gives you the opportunity to grow as a human being.
Gavin Wood
I've pretty much come to the believe now that addictions are 99% mental. I've done shit, never been addicted, and I've had friends who have done every shit under the sky, and they are well adjusted adults with good jobs and they aren't addicted either.
Anything that puts a regular load on Dopaminergic neurons in the Nucleus Accumbens will get someone addicted, regardless of substance.
Chase Cox
>I've pretty much come to the believe now that addictions are 99% mental I've binged on heroin for 1 and a half weeks mainly shitposting on Sup Forums (pic related), not only did I walk away with my car, and my flat still, I didn't even feel withdrawals.
Nicholas Lewis
You should try shooting it
Nathaniel Lewis
I'd really rather not.
Isaiah Torres
doesn't opioid imply that it's synthetic? Kinda like a double negative situation?
Elijah Miller
You will eventually.
Nicholas Price
Semi-synthetics I suppose are opioids too.
Joshua Fisher
Also, any junkie anons find they prefer rather shit tier opiates (codeine, hydrocodone, tramadol, morphine orally etc) over some of the stronger opiates (oxycodone, morphine IV, fentanyl, etc)?
Mate, this was back in May or June when I last took heroin judging by that image in my email which is from then. I haven't thought about heroin since.
Like my first paragraph implied, I take codeine I'm prescribed weekly now, and tramadol because I like the risk of seizures.
I really have no interest in doing heroin again. Though I probably will before I die.
