Do you use Bitcoins? If so, what for? Which wallet would you recommend using? Which exchanges? Do you have any tips re: security? What do you think of the future of the currency, and cryptocurrencies in general?
I don't think this is the wrong board for this, considering how fucked the political climate and the internet are getting. I'm sure I'm not the only pleb out there who hasn't bothered with this yet, but is starting to realise that it will probably form the backbone of the anti-"globalist" ((((parentheses optional)))) movement as we grow in strength and organisational complexity.
Charles White
I don't have any bitcoins left because I sold all of them during the boom
Logan Collins
So you speculated but never used them for anything?
Levi Miller
Who still uses them? They are worthless. All the cool people have moved on to using Monero and such shit.
Carson Watson
I was kind of hoping for thoughtful responses afaikimo, maybe do that (eg why Torana is better)
William Kelly
>monero lol he lost half his monies to it
I have about 3 just hoping for the moon, beats having stupid euros that lose 1%+ every month
Julian Richardson
>Do you use Bitcoins? Yes.
>If so, what for? Crypto-currency trading.
>Which wallet would you recommend using? Any local wallet.
>Which exchanges? Bitfinex, poloniex, btce, lots of them. Also localbitcoins.
>Do you have any tips re: security? Do not store large amounts on online wallets, do backups, always enable 2FA, be cautious. I'll say it again: Do not store large amounts on online wallets, do backups, always enable 2FA, be cautious.
>What do you think of the future of the currency, and cryptocurrencies in general? I don't know about future, but I can see that lots of services and shops started accepting bitcoins lately. Many blockchain technologies look promising.
Josiah Long
>What do you think of the future of the currency, and cryptocurrencies in general? Will be banned because stubed countries want to steal from peoples through mass easing and (((they))) cannot do it if there's an alternative to state issued monies
Eli Bennett
>worthless kek cry more poor fag
Gabriel Young
>Do you use Bitcoins? Kind of >If so, what for? Different purposes. >Which wallet would you recommend using? Local wallet, 2FA >Which exchanges? Depends on your location, how you like to buy, what you like to do and how anonymous you like to stay. But enough out there who are legit >Do you have any tips re: security? 2FA, Backups, dont be a moron, if it sounds to good to be true it is with 95% scam and if you are one of the 5% who got lucky, please turn yourself in. >What do you think of the future of the currency, and cryptocurrencies in general? Digital Tulips which may inspire someone
Jeremiah Cox
>Do not store large amounts on online wallets, do backups, always enable 2FA, be cautious. Yeah, the main reason I haven't gotten on board with this earlier is that I'm terrible about backing up data/passes/etc. I kind of don't trust myself. Thinking of backing up my wallet in an encrypted zip in my Protonmail
Oliver Barnes
>internet money
lmaono
Elijah Ramirez
I wouldn't trust it as a store of value, but as Paypal for Racists I think it may have some use
Bentley Green
>Different purposes. So, kiddy porn huh
Joshua Ross
>Different purposes plural, as in CP and drugs
Nathaniel Cox
sure if you say so shill
Carter Watson
I use bitcoin to store my savings. I keep some on coinbase and pay for all of my expenses using a shift card.
It's pretty great. This year so far I've earned 100% "interest" in usd. Banks offer like -2.5% interest adjusted for inflation
Andrew Lewis
How about you say so cunt and then I won't have to
Adrian Clark
B-but FBI Iam just a gently merchant trading socks made from exotic animals and penis enlargement pills

>worrying about fbi >i'm in britain >you're in austria >worrying about throwaway anonymous shitposts generally So you're a retard on top of being a degenerate

I buy them on localbitcoins to purchase drugs I only have the RAMP marketplace wallet Regarding security, I would recommend you to learn how to utilize PGP since it's often used to complement passwords
James Evans
Just don't go overly paranoid.
I have almost 5 bitcoins locked in a Veracrypt container. I've generated password too long to remember, encrypted my system partition, a week later rebooted my notebook only to find out that password is completely gone from my memory. Now I backup wallet to multiple clouds after each transaction.
Hunter Richardson
I like bitcoin but OP you killed your thread. Cheerio
Justin Ortiz
>Bitcoin visa card Wow, didn't even know that was a thing, though I shouldn't be surprised it is. There really is no reason to pay tax is there
Jackson Brown
>Used to >Shits and giggles, I mined it when they first came out, forgot about it, then made like 6.5 k when I sold them some time ago even after Jews cut 7% on transfer >Mt Gox (idk if still up) >No, it's not very safe, I'd stick with conventional currency >It's going nowhere, meme currency
Parker Ross
>no reason to pay tax oy vey!
Justin Watson
Bitcoin is a pointless meme
Isaac Young
Fug, yeah this is why I would never use it as anything more than a way of encrypting transfers
>learn how to utilize PGP If I need to install gentoo to use this shit properly then I don't imagine it having very broad longlasting appeal
Benjamin Hernandez
nah, simple program, you learn how to deal with keys in a minute
Andrew Anderson
Cheers, alrite I'll look into it
>meme It's a surprisingly resilient meme.
I can definitely imagine some black swan value-apocalypse happening in the future though, if something comes along that's better or if there's some coordinated international crackdown. After all there's literally no intrinsic value: a paper currency at least has a state behind it.
Aiden Bell
Btw am I mental to think that governments have sophisticated quantum computers and they're going to use them to buttblast all the world's security algorithms but not tell anyone about it
Carson Nguyen
They can't really do that without tossing everything away to start a big global reset. More likely they'll start burning the little goyim quickly enough to get away with it.
Blake Green
That's what I meant. The global reset would only happen if people knew they had that technology. Otherwise they could use it like FPS h@x: sparingly enough that nobody notices.
But yeah it would be interesting if it was known that that kind of technology was out there. I'd sure like to own gold if that happened
Adam Mitchell
The main point is that any kind of currency can conceivably be perverted, whether it's molecular gold money, math games crytpo money, or beef tallow 5lb notes.
It's all just currency. No safe haven other than not being at the wrong end of the herd getting eaten by the wolfs.
Jace Gray
Used a few times to obtain goods of questionable legality.
