Will transgendered people ever be considered normal in America? By normal I mean being an openly trans elementary school teacher or athlete without any stigma whatsoever.
As of today, being trans is considered a mental illness by some people.

And if so, how long will it take? Gays have been fighting for equal rights for half a century and it's only recently that most of modern western society considers being gay as no big deal. How long will it take for trans people to be just normal members of society and not mentally deranged sexual deviants?
What laws need to change? Or what laws must be introduced to protect their rights?

If you asked me years ago my answer would be "When the technology exists to give them what they want" since that's kind of my personal stance. But when I come in contact with other trans people it's just weird. I feel like they're either doing this stuff because it's a fetish, or because they misunderstand being male or female. Now I feel like even if they were the people they physically wish they were they'd still go off the deep end about not getting the kind of attention they want. I wish these people could be who they want to be and prove me wrong, but the technology isn't there. Since it isn't they'll usually end up being broad shouldered, male pattern balding, man-faced, etc, "women" and there's this almost uncanny valley thing going on. Until they look "right" it'll never be normalized since it's obvious just at a glance, that something very wrong is going on there.

Now that doesn't mean we have to kill trans people or anything, but we should have more options other than transitioning as means to deal with this huge issue that is being trans. Personally I am doing coping therapy and learning to accept that I was born male and will always be, and trying to be happy with the cards I've been dealt with. Transition isn't the solution for everyone neither is SRS.
I just wish for trans people to not be hated irrationally or discriminated against like a schizo or cripple is not discriminated against. I don't want special treatment, just to be treated nicely.

The issue is all muddled up by the fact that a lot of people who aren't realy trans are jumping on the nu-trans bandwagon propped up by the media and the left. They treat us like their pets, like we are their trophies of tolerance and virtue signalling. And in the end we trannies are the ones getting fucked by it, cue inevitable backlash by right wing/whatever people who will push back against trans people's rights to fight off the leftists, like in the US with the bathroom issues. It used to be that you could go to the bathroom you passed as, but now it's an issue no matter what you look like.

I actually have a real question, and I hope it doesn't come off as mean or rude. Do you work out? Like do you actively go to the gym and lift? I've seen/heard/found that people who participate in a /fit/ lifestyle after developing practices, ideas, or beliefs that tend to be LGTBBQ lose them or have a much less interest. Even with myself, I used to be into some pretty gay shit that I'm high key ashamed of, but within like weeks of seriously beginning to work out I lost complete interest in it.
