The school districting excluded nearby housing projects and people of color. The city is trying to integrate the largely white school with people of color but parents, including SAMANTHA BEE, are stopping it.

A P.S. School in NYC means it's. Public School for K-4 or K-6 grades. Basically PS schools are zoned for anyone who lives in the neighborhood zone I think it's within a 5 mile radius or so. What OP is saying is that upper west side has a public housing within that "school zone" radius. And the public school is omitting that housing sector because they're poor and black. It's not a private school when it's paid for my tax dollars. Especially on grade school level.
