FCC Republicans vow to gut net neutrality rules “as soon as possible”

>The Federal Communications Commission's two Republican members told ISPs yesterday that they will get to work on gutting net neutrality rules "as soon as possible."

>FCC Republicans Ajit Pai and Michael O'Rielly sent a letter to five lobby groups representing wireless carriers and small ISPs; while the letter is mostly about plans to extend an exemption for small providers from certain disclosure requirements, the commissioners also said they will tackle the entire net neutrality order shortly after President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20.

>"[W]e will seek to revisit [the disclosure] requirements, and the Title II Net Neutrality proceeding more broadly, as soon as possible," they wrote, referring to the order that imposed net neutrality rules and reclassified ISPs as common carriers under Title II of the Communications Act. Pai and O'Rielly noted that they "dissented from the Commission's February 2015 Net Neutrality decision, including the Order's imposition of unnecessary and unjustified burdens on providers."

>Pai and O'Rielly will have a 2-1 Republican majority on the FCC after the departure of Democratic Chairman Tom Wheeler on January 20. Pai previously said that the Title II net neutrality order's "days are numbered" under Trump, while O'Rielly said he intends to "undo harmful policies" such as the Title II reclassification.

MUH FREEDOMS

>tfw no THICC milf to creampie every night

thic is a meme created by leftists to justify being disgusting and fat. You are an agent of cultural marxism and belong in a gas chamber.

Republicans and their complete lack of understanding of the internet.

They do understand big dollar lobbyism though! I can't wait for everyone to be made the bitch of their ISPs and for the Internet to turn into cable TV 2.0

Literally perfect

t. Low t

Thick has nothing to do with being fat you stupid faggot. It's about wide hips which are indicative of being good child-bearing material.

Only beta faggots like you don't like thick women because you have no natural instinct to reproduce.

>Being a low test cuck
Sad!

Yeah but wide hips don't mean shit anymore. Any woman with any size hips can give birth just fine you chubby chasing goblin fucking leaf.

>Being a low test cuck

Many such cases!

you got btfo kid

get out

You obviously haven't watched Twitter when THICC related topic starts trending.
90% of the girls that are considered ""THICC"" are basically cheese eating, couch sitting fat fucks.

Can anyone give me an argument for why net neutrality is bad? Why should I buy packages to be able to go to certain websites?

"""Net neutrality""" has nothing to do with open access to content and everything to do with government control of the Internet. It's applying early 20th century telephone rules to the Internet. Anyone that supports it is a shill or a retard. This is a fact.

Sounds dysgenic as fuck

Lard fucking cow tipping dwarf doodling autism spewing burger eating retards.

>republican
Try NSA, fool

It's not bad. There isn't a single argument against it.

Confirmed beta.

Homo.

No, I don't like fat chicks.

Why the fuck would I care what trends on twitter? Why do you? It's TWITTER for fucks sake. It's filled with stupid fucking normies who try to steal other peoples memes. Of course fat SJW faggots are trying to steal the thick meme and use it for fat slobs.

Here's seven arguments from /ourguys/ Breitbart.

breitbart.com/big-government/2014/11/10/7-reasons-net-neutrality/

Good net neutrality is bullshit!

That's what the THICC meme turned into though, Stop denying it.
Not to mention that the entire meme is based on nigger songs.

I used to think net neutrality was a good thing, but I got the redpill after watching this video

>covering fat enabling with a shitty reproducing excuse.

They fell for the reproduction meme. It's over for them.

Good job you guys

Shill harder, republicunt.

Net Neutrality will be preserved, if not through force of law than through the force of consumer demands.

Every attempt by ISPs to infringe on net neutrality (even within the bounds of the FCC's rules) has been met with MASSIVE consumer backlash - just look at Comcast's record.

If ISPs start infringing on open internet, new ISPs will rise to compete with them.

Free Market

>.02 cents have been deposited in your pay pal account.

Republicans (and politicians in general) are so fucking out-of-touch with technology. Net neutrality somehow found a home in the Dem party but it really should be bipartisan.

Republicans literally just listen to what the Comcast lobbyists tell them and think "these guys know all the techy terms and mumbo jumbo so I trust them".

We need to educate the GOP on net neutrality, they're getting it all wrong.

EU has net neutrality.

Thanks for the info.
So the problem is not the idea of net neutrality itself, but the regulations they are passing are actually working against real net neutrality.

Unless you live in rural areas.

Even here in good ol' suburbia there's a problem with lack of true competition. In my particular neck of the woods we have Comcast or ATT

No, they're getting it right. Net neutrality is the internet jew.

It functionally already existed. Companies like Netflix use lots of bandwidth, so why shouldn't they have to pay more? The internet is pretty flexible for the most part, but not to the point where you can or should treat every byte equally. Anything like fastlanes or blocking third party websites cannot exist unless the government exerts more control on the Internet and further limits new ISP creation and spread.

I grant that EU adopted net neutrality at the end of 2015, but for 20 years before that Romania embraced the capitalist market after the fall of communism. Look where their internet is at now.

The infrastructure is too large for small start ups to upend large corporations easily.

It's not as simple as "free market"

i have a question Sup Forums , is it wrong that i want to eat ass lately? Not sure why, is it considered beta to eat ass? I just want to bite the ass of the woman in OPs pic. Something has awoken in me.

Not if you want to do it, and are confident about it.

Make sure you dominant your woman so she wants you to do it but understands you're in control.

>being Irish
Sad!

People in rural areas get to enjoy things like less road traffic, cleaner air and cheaper cost of living, so why should ISPs be forced to treat them the same as someone that lives in a big city where it's easy to get access to them, but also has to deal with increased traffic, some increased pollution, and higher costs of living.

It's the same problem with the post office. Post office delivers mail to everyone for the same price, even though it might cost drastically different amounts to deliver to them in reality.

A lot of the problem with rural Internet access has to do with local governments that make it difficult for new ISP creation or for existing ISPs to increase their physical networking.

That doesn't change the fact that applying 1860 regulations to the Internet is a bad idea. It has more to do with what I mentioned before about it's more difficult than naturally required to start a new ISP.

>"Make America Great Again", right? LOL.
You realize "Net Neutrality" is the same deal as the "Patriot Act" and "Affordable Care Act" right? Its a pile of shit, wrapped in a pretty name. You're either a shill or a lazy, uninformed pleb if you support it.

You seriously just don't get it.

>Companies like Netflix use lots of bandwidth, so why shouldn't they have to pay more? Anything like fastlanes or blocking third party websites cannot exist unless the government exerts more control on the Internet and further limits new ISP creation and spread.
This is false. For one thing, these things already exist, because there are already huge financial and legal barriers to ISP creation. Gutting net neutrality rules without gutting those is abject stupidity, but it's something that Republicans have zero interest in.

Companies like Netflix don't "use lots of bandwidth". People using Netflix's service use lots of bandwidth. Companies like NBC/Comcast want to punish companies like Netflix for being competitors. Companies like Comcast want to double-dip in profits by charging the supplier and consumer bandwidth costs. It even goes against the fundamental nature of the internet, which involves internet backbone companies peering with each other and agreeing to share their spare bandwidth in exchange for other free bandwidth because it vastly opens up areas of communication. Without it, "the internet" would not be "the internet", it would be a bunch of separate NBC/Comcasts and AOLs of yore. You would have a fancy cable TV subscription.

You have no fucking idea what you're talking about.

>Net neutrality is the internet jew.
t. flesh and blood actual Jew

Say net neutrality goes away. What's to stop an ISP from charging """""undesirable""""" sites like Sup Forums exorbitant rates for bandwidth? Furthermore, what are we to do if as a result Sup Forums switches to a pay model or even goes away outright?

There's nothing more left than wanting to gas somebody just because they don't like what you like stormweenie.

Netflix accounts for 35% of Internet traffic at peak times m8. Peering doesn't work for Netflix because they are a mostly one way usage example.

The law they are using to enforce net neutrality was written in 1860 to regulate telegraphs.

That's fear mongering and not going to happen. No one really cares about Sup Forums's Internet usage, and if they did try to gate certain websites behind paywalls it would be more popular sites like kikebook first and the backlash would be so huge that they wouldn't be able to go through with it. ISP competition is kinda shitty in the US, but it's not to the point where companies can do that yet.

This is so fucking stupid

Why did these people get elected why

thank you user

>That's fear mongering and not going to happen.
But it DOES open the possibility, and all it takes is all companies do it together to say "fuck you" to people paying, what are you going to do, NOT USE THE INTERNET IN THIS DAY AND AGE?! They have people by the balls and if they want to fuck with people they can.

>Every attempt by ISPs to infringe on net neutrality (even within the bounds of the FCC's rules) has been met with MASSIVE consumer backlash
And yet I still have a 1TB data cap.

>If ISPs start infringing on open internet, new ISPs will rise to compete with them.
Probably not because they'd have to lay down their own infrastructure.

>if they did try to gate certain websites behind paywalls it would be more popular sites like kikebook first and the backlash would be so huge that they wouldn't be able to go through with it
Exactly why it will be small sites like this, because there won't be backlash. Think about who owns (((ISPs))). Are you saying you can't see (((Comcast))) throttling sites like this? How'd you like to wait three hours to load up a single Breitbart article? Nobody will give a shit because it's Breitbart. Normies don't read it and aren't affected by it and won't give a shit if you throttle it. Besides Kikebook has the bucks to pay for higher speeds, Breitbart doesn't and will either have to switch to a pay model( and even then there's no guarantees, see Netflix) or go out of business outright.
>ISP competition is kinda shitty in the US, but it's not to the point where companies can do that yet.
Yes, we are.

Just like government controlled regulations open doors. See: Fairness act

SO THE FCC WON'T LET ME BE OR LET ME TROLL Sup Forums SO LET ME SEE

Fairness doctrine*

>Netflix accounts for 35% of Internet traffic at peak times m8. Peering doesn't work for Netflix because they are a mostly one way usage example.
I didn't say they peered, I said internet backbones do, and that they probably wouldn't if price wars could erupt. Or if corporations which were both content providers and service providers

You don't get it though. Netflix doesn't account for 35% of Internet traffic at peak times, people using Netflix account for 35% of Internet traffic. Companies like NBCComcast want to double dip on this traffic by charging Netflix and charging consumers of Netflix. It would punish bandwidth usage and would have delayed the creation of all video consumption on the internet, all for no real reason -- bandwidth usage is not a problem in most places, and in most places where it is, lack of bandwidth is a problem because content providers are also service providers and don't want to invest in infrastructure upgrades.

Do you pay for a cable TV subscription, and are you happy with the availability of channels packages which you are forced on you? Are you happy with subscription-based streaming sites, which all want to charge a premium for their own content on top of everything else you pay for?

Do you enjoy dealing with CBS streaming, NBC streaming, HBO streaming, Apple streaming, Amazon streaming, spotify streaming? Do you like sports blackouts, and having to deal with the sluggish growth of MLB, NFL, ESPN streaming services which are lower quality? Do you hate youtube?

Of course not, nobody does. The proliferation of "alternate" media the last 10 years is almost entirely based on everybody hating this and ease-of-access to the real internet. Anti-net neutrality types are trying to claim that they'd be happy with a youtube-less internet, proclaiming their love of market forces while ignoring the fact that those same market forces would have practiced infanticide on so much of the internet that they take for granted.

>thic is a meme created by leftists

Whats next? Is the act of enjoying the sight of tits a work of marxist feminism?

Lol, wnjoy your ban for posting porn in Sup Forums, report this faggot.
