Has anyone watched rogue one? I need to know whether it really is a waste of money; some redpilled people I know like it.

Camrip isnt that bad. Dont give jews ur shekels

All the lead characters are pretty uninteresting. It's OK, but nothing exciting.

Also,

well jedha is heavily influenced by 3rd world middle eastern countries and you see characters with hijabs and burqas pretty stupid but it was a """"""""fun""""""" movie got to see it for free in IMAX and im not complaining

I want to know whether the sjw influence is present in the movie; therefore I am asking the political board.

It's all right, I expected worse.
Don't watch in 3D tho, it's a shit gimmick.

And the female lead is an ugly bitch.

Was dark and gritty with blood and guts and a hard R. Major reshoots to give it a more generic, marvel movie feel/humor (K2SO) and pacing but it kept the grim dark in the non-reshoots and gave it a PG-13 rating.

What we got was a movie that felt weird. Lots of cash-ins, and straight rip offs from prior films just to make it "FEEL LIKE STARWARS! OH MY GAAAAWWWD". The ending scene was good, and should have been how the entire movie went. Instead we got a fucking stupid plot, characters you don't care about that you don't even know, and one good 60 second scene at the end which you may have seen in webm form.

IMO, download the camrip or just watch the vader scene. The rest of the movie goes exactly how you think it will. The plot isn't secret, it just sucks. 2/10, 3rd worst starwars movie

No, other than the casting it was pretty tame in that aspect.

It's better the episode 7 by a long shot. There isn't much of a SJW presence to it that I noticed. It shows the Rebels are not mary sues who can do no wrong and that they have done terrible things themselves.
The multicultral team all die
leaving nothing but whites left in the rebellion

It was alright.

CONS
Pacing is a bit wonky during the first half
Character building is mediocre
CGI Tarkin and Leia are uncanny as fuck

PROS
Beautiful cinematography
Awesome action scenes
Robot and Blindguy are fucking great
Super fucking awesome scene with Vader in the end

I enjoyed it. Bluepilled shit was less prevalent than I expected. Worth a watch. See it on a big screen, the effects are something else and worth the price of entry for that alone.

It wasn't great, it isn't as bad as everyone says it is. Wouldn't recommend it unless you are a huge Star Wars fan. I would give it a legit 5/10.

good analysis, have a (((you)))

also everyone dies in the end including the female lead and the end is where episode IV starts

would have been better with more Vader scenes

all the main characters are white except for a few token blacks and an asian (which they made a monk kek) if that makes you feel better

>CGI Tarkin and Leia are uncanny as fuck
Honestly, if you didn't know they were CGI going into it, you'd never know. I went with a group of 10 people, all of whom were trying to figure out who the hell played Tarkin. We all assumed it was just a really, really good makeup job for Leia, and were honestly surprised when we found out it was CGI.
So if you look for flaws you'll find them. If you don't know to look for flaws, they'll never even occur to you.

>catched

I enjoyed it.
Best Star Wars film since Empire.
That's not saying a lot I know.

It was absolute shit.

totally irredeemable

Almost none, its just a bad movie. GOTTA HAVE GRAND MOFF TARKIN! LETS MAKE HIM CGI AS FUCK. SAME FOR LEIA, KUZ SHE OLD N SHIT NOW

I thought it was pretty shitty. There were a ton of scenes that completely took me out of it. Especially the scenes with the asian guy, those were the worst. The main bad guy is a complete retard, as always. The vader scene was fucking awesome though.

Diversity team rainbow die at the end. Not bad.

It was fun for the action - but the characters are forgettable. Tarkin looked like shit.

Rebels are mostly non white, empire is all the mean white dudes.

That's and the strong female lead are it, but Jyns character was boring as fuck. All around a mediocre action movie that had starwars stuff in it. No real character development. I don't even remember the names.

Nope. One of the main characters is some kind of a Balkanized mutt but there's an equal mix of whites in Empire and Rebellion. It's pretty tame.

On a production level and as it pertains to Star Wars, it feels real and alive. Set pieces are impressive, locations are varied and there's some impressive visuals and cinematography.
The music is subpar - it has general themes of SW, just with a little twist, to differentiate it form the original trilogy, but doesn't have the same oomph that the original soundtrack had.

In other words, it was satisfying. If you're a Star Wars fan, you'll like it. If you're hoping for a revolutionary piece of cinema, you won't find it here.

It wasn't directed by J. J. Abrams. Of course it's good.

This, also the Enterprise is destroyed, Chewbacca kills Dumbledore, and Kylo Ren is actually a type of cheese.
>It's better the episode 7 by a long shot
I went back and rewatched TFA after this, and Rogue One is actually the better movie, by a significant margin.

Honestly I thought the movie was awesome. They went out of their way to get a diverse cast but it didn't feel forced and most of the diverse main characters came from a sand nigger planet who get wrapped up in the war conflict.

Oh yeah.
That part bothered me
A lot.
Not that they were uncanny, but that they weren't.
I realized we are at the point where video is no longer meaningful evidence.

It's not for kids.

It's very Star Warsy, but it tells a somewhat depressing tale.

Main issue is that the cast is forgettable. They lack cohesion as an ensemble, they lack personal charisma or motivation. Blind Oritental Guy Who Fights With A Staff is probably best. "Let's get this shit done" over and over again for a hour or so, and a 20min awesome fight scene.

They haven't quite worked out how to do Avengers with Star Wars yet, basically.

by Sup Forums standards, its jewish propaganda and shit.

if you're a fan, its worth it.

If you watch Hollywood movies, or waste any time with idle entertainment, then you are not redpilled, you're a fucking normie.

fuck off, it's clear you just watched the wankfest that was RLM. You're fucking surprised that a Star Wars movie had tie fighters and x wings? Surprised that it was overblown in proportion in a PG setting because it's an adventure movie for kids and teens?

They seem to have matched the "ethnic mix" of the original trilogy. It's not really that prevalent.

Alex Jones called it feminist propaganda (whiteout seeing it)

RLM summed it up pretty good

Christ man idc if some people aren't white I just care if it's blatantly sjw.

Thanks for your feedback, here's a (you).

this rlm is cancer and has always been cancer only audists watch those "ebin movie reviews" because they are too socially inept to form their own opinion

the main character is a Mary Sue with incredibly cringey pep talks. She's the one that convinces those who are about to give up to BELIEVE IN THEMSELVES
fucking yuck.

Then you probably won't have a problem with the movie. There's really nothing that screams HURR DURR DURR SOCIAL JUSTICE HURR HURR, if that's what you're worried about.

Holy shit do they love their inspiring speeches in this there is like three of them back to back

Nah, it's not a sjwfest and the casting isn't too distracting. The rebels are a mix of races, empire are a bunch of old white dudes.

Film was alright, but the cast was very forgettable and the strong womyn lead character was an absolute wet potato, truly a boring mary sue with zero personality.
There were some nice setpieces though and the interesting stuff was the scale of some of the battles. The vader scene was badass though, the highlight of the movie.

Pretty uninteresting
There was no character development at all.
The two guys looked exactly the same and neither of them had a backstory. The girl had a 5 second backstory that involves her just hiding. Forest whitaker just dies early on for no reason. The two chinese guys have no backstory either

I have no idea why I was supposed to care about any of them.

The opening was annoying how it showed like four different planets for 5 minutes

heatst.com/entertainment/rogue-one-a-star-wars-story-is-the-most-genuinely-pro-trump-film-of-2016/

>The vader scene was badass though, the highlight of the movie.
True. Hell, that whole final sequence was great.

>grown ass men watching Pleb Wars

It's time to grow up, nu-males. I know you wish you were a child again but its getting pathetic.

I'm seeing it today apparently the Rebels are all opressed minorities and the Empire is like a Third Reich. Does anyone know how much screen time Darth Vader gets?

watched the cam version online, it's a shit, didn't even bother finishing it

It's certainly not a waste of money. It will make tons of it.

Oh and obviously the movie isn't good.

I heard Vader absolutely BTFOs rebel scum?

Can anyone say if the killing is good enough to spend time watching it?

I only realized Tarkin was CG after I saw some twitching near his eye, but even then, I thought it was an actor who had been "enhanced" with CGI to make him look more like Cushing's Tarkin.
And I honestly believed Leia was Carrie Fisher with a lot of makeup or getting the Robert Downey Jr. treatment, until I came here to Sup Forums and people were bitching about it.
It's great to have this kind of technology, and I don't see what's wrong, really. They're not trying to replace an actor. They're trying to create fictitious characters.

>There was no character development at all.

Probably because you weren't suppose to get attached to them. They're not appearing again.

>But oh boy, were they all wrong: Rogue One is without a doubt the most pro-Trump film since Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, a film where Trump helped a lost boy find his way, clearly displaying the gravitas required to be president.
kek

Its OK if you like star wars. It wasn't as "aw chucks" as TFA, but its just fanfare without any real character development.

>Honestly, if you didn't know they were CGI going into it, you'd never know.
I didn't and I did.

I'm not saying they didn't do a good job, they were smart enough to keep the model in the shadows for most of the shots, but it's still REALLY noticeable.

>It's great to have this kind of technology, and I don't see what's wrong, really. They're not trying to replace an actor. They're trying to create fictitious characters.
I agree. I really, really do not understand the CGI complaints, other than a need to find something wrong with the movie.

The fight scenes are awesome and beautifully shot. Vader walks through a rebel ship killing anything that gets in his way, before the last rebels get in that ship with leia and GTFO

not really BTFOs, cause both sides get mutually BTFOd, really.

Wasn't that scene filmed in Trump Tower anyway?

I liked it a lot more than the force awakens, even more than most of the New trilogy.
Didnt see much SJW propaganda in it, Didnt bother Me really, there are Black stormtroopers as shown in 7, they Just kept their helmets on now >:^)

said it was pretty good, they weren't happy with a lot of miss opportunities in character development but overall fairly solid.

Damn bro... I liked her more than Rey.

Trivial but interesting to note, there was only 2 minutes of a light-saber on-screen throughout the whole movie. Helped you realize that the Jedi Order has been BTFO

It's great, ignore the bitter manbabies on Sup Forums virtue-signalling about how much they hate everything.

I'll rewatch it now that I know its CGI, but I had an entire group of 10 people who didn't pick up on it. Of course, none of them probably spend as much time criticizing CGI in movies as Sup Forums, but if it is good enough to fool the majority of people who watch it blindly, then it's pretty damn good use of CGI.

The only part of the movie I did not like was Princess acting like she just woke from a soma-Xanax-Valiumfest and saying "hope" after the fleet just gets choke-fucked by a Star Destroyer exiting Hyper Space.

If you see it in 3D it's harder to tell (i think), and Leia is on screen for like 2 seconds

Cons
> jumping worlds and timelines every scene for the first half
> it's another "teenager tells the entire rebellion what to do" episode
>Vader's stupid scene in the middle with his Halloween costume mask

Pros
>Cool battle I guess
>solid droid character for once

Idk man, I would torrent it

This. Vader brutality was enjoyable.

>reddi/tv/ said it was pretty good

Shocker.

I liked the opening and the end battles were pretty cool too.

I liked the blunt robot.

tarkin was "enhanced"

they had an actor do all his scenes, and then superimposed CGI over the actor.

>They're not appearing again.
Most movies you'll never see the characters after that movie, that doesn't mean character development doesn't matter. Unless you're just supposed to look at explosions for two hours, you need good characters to care about what's happening.

isnt it sad that a droid character has more personality that the rest of the cast?

Why don't you get out of your basement and go see it for yourself if you want to see it

>redpilled
>watching the star jew
>watching the electric jew

You are not redpilled, neither are the people you know. You are numales, and pol/ites. kys
Starwars was and has always been a commercial ploy to sell toys. The man who "Created" it said so himself. Now go gas yourself.

It's apparently a lot like 7

Rushed story line, no character development. Basically pointless and they are ruining the potential of these sequels and prequels.

I hope they hire some new people to do the future Star Wars movies.

Probably best to wait until the movie is 1$ at the redbox or amazon or something.

Sup Forums is shit unless you come and start a thread there

Like 99,9999999% of people there are absolute fucking clueless children and need adult's direction to actually post something that makes sense.

Both in terms of quality production and political pandering, it's not bad. No "Do not hold my hand". The final space battle was the best part by far.

What does it matter if it's good or not? Don't give money to people who purposely discriminate against white men.

they all die last scene jyn and cassian get lit up by death star

>mfw haven't even seen it and no intention to

>movies are like, a business maaaaaaaan

It makes their inevitable deaths less impactful if we don't get any attachment to them.

Plenty of similar setups do a good job of setting up characters and their arcs and getting us attached to them in one film- Dirty Dozen, The Great Escape, Seven Samurai and it's 90 billion homages.

>DARTH VADER DOES THE PG VERSION OF WHAT YOU WANT
laughed harder than i should have

I liked it a lot better than episode 7

Best bit was the ending where a group of white male rebels prove they have balls of steel

I loved it

I just watched it an hour ago and it wasnt as bad as Sup Forums made it out to be
I went in fully expecting maximum jew cuck propaganda where the good guys are literally 100% minorities and women fighting against the literally 100% old white male empire but the diversity was actually nothing to write him about since you can now expect every Hollywood movie to have at least some non-whites
The villain was a complete trainwreck however and honestly looking back on it it was incredibly bland
Same with TFA. Both of these have not managed to spark the same joy as the older movies did. Characters are all forgetable cardboard cutouts
I probably wont watch any new SW movies until they make one entirely with characters established by Lucas

BLACK MAN STEALS WHITE WOMAN AND KILLS HER THREAD

>DONT LET THIS SLIDE

Pretty bad movie.

To me it was standard hollywood bullshit for the first 1 1/2 hour and about then something mildly interesting starts happening, but still bad - The end is just a nostalgia trip to make you feel good when walking out of the theater

Diverse characters lead by white.
In the end...whites save day.

It's redpilled.

its X-wing porn

Nope, but much like their prequel reviews I think they summed this one up pretty well. However they simply said "grimdark is bad for starwars" I specifically think this one is bad because of all the reshoots an edits. It was half way in grimdark, halfway trying to be guardians of the galaxy. Per the AMA on faggit from the team on this movie trying to combat the re-shoots, the original movie had darth vader literally ripping people to pieces, focused on making you scared of the bad guy and had a MUCH different story that fit in better with the other movies (And explains why the AT-ATs were at the end and looked weird). I'm mad because this would have been a solid 8/10 and memorable flick and we got a "Safe" 2/10 mess that people will forget about in a week while the producers sit back and count the cash, no lesson learned.

TFA was a movie with characters established by Lucas, and EP 8 and 9 will be that, too, and going with the way TFA turned out, I'm not too optimistic. I'd rather see Disney write some new, interesting and whimsical characters than recycle old shit all the time.

>not using their videos as asmr background noise while you work

THIS
But I will wait till for a disc rip

I've noticed a trend with the two new Disney-made Star Wars films.

They market and advertise the films as really progressive, inclusive, SJW-heavy agenda. This is done to hype up the SJW-"geek" nerd community which dominates geek journalism sites and can spread coverage and hype very quickly, but has the unintentional consequence of riling up Alt Right fringe communities into believing their films will be 100% liberal propaganda, causing mini-shitstorms and two boycott movements.

The reality is that while advertised as SJW propaganda, this agenda is noticeably absent from the films themselves. No, it wasn't cut out. It was never there. The film execs marketed it differently than what it really was, to different communities.

The new Star Wars films are just that- soulless, corporate, risk-averse economic manoeuvres rather than creative risks or political statements. They'd never get a Chinese audience if they actually shilled liberal messages in their films.

Now, The Force Awakens defined that corporate kind of safe-playing strategy, they clearly had hundreds of researchers to plan for "what worked". Plus an abundance of fan service. It looked nice but it was hollow.

Rogue One is born of that same kind of decision making, the setting of the film is proof to that- stealing the Death Star plans as a concept is incredibly safe. But I feel like this one worked better. It felt more natural than TFA, fan service done right. It was made for the Star Wars fans before the acquisition, not the new kids generation that TFA aimed to scoop. It was a way of saying "hey, we can do Star Wars lore too. A non-autistic Expanded Universe with a much bigger budget. We think you'll like it."

Personally, I did. And I'm looking forward to the new anthology films much more than the sequel trilogy/reboot trilogy.

If there's one good thing that might come out of this, let's call it 'okay' movie, it's that Disney might start doing more stories set in the Universe that aren't connected to the main plot.
