What is rational way to deal with todays society culture?
I find it deeply depressing that all around I see vapid people whos only goal is to be "edgy" "cool" "rebel" Looking at these people really puts me down all these broken souls that for sake of fitting in some made up mold lead totally degenerate life [ Pic related ]
Where do you guys find normal rational people that don't think you need to GET WASTED BROO to have fun or fill your Ego.
All this forced normie culture is hard to digest because its just so wide spread, seems like everyone is trying to jump on same degenerate train like people can't find fun in simple things like comming over and just discusting philosophy or doing some project together.
I wonder how does society function at all with this kind of people because vast majority behave like this seeking hedonism
>I know many girls like that who are going to church but just cant hold their urges. So why the big fuss when a refugee has his way with a German woman?

I'm Catholic. I only socialise with people from church. There are young people at my church, but even if there weren't, I would prefer to spend my time with good elderly folk than pagans my own age.

Learn to find solace in solitude. The social sphere will not fulfill you. You must learn to find happiness within yourself, not in others. We live in an age of decadence and alienation. The warm nuances that bind people together have been shattered in favor of superficial hedonism. Friends are a rarity, romance even moreso. Instant pleasure is the defining feature of our times. Every social and biological truth has effectively been subverted and inverted after years of social conditioning.
I'm not going to tell you where you can find faithful and virtuous women, because the current economic/educational paradigm relegates quality women into careers and thus prevents them from focusing on finding husbands and building lifelong relationships. Trashy women, on the other hand, will seek to sexually express themselves in a vain effort to find a sugardaddy.
According to Gregory's Dialogues Benedict was born in Nursia, a village high in the mountains northeast of Rome. His parents sent him to Rome for classical studies but he found the life of the eternal city too degenerate for his tastes. Consequently he fled to a place southeast of Rome called Subiaco where he lived as a hermit for three years tended by the monk Romanus.

This is what happens when society is given complete freedom with no consequences. Religion kept people decent in fear of being punished by god. Humans aren't capable of being individual, we always seek a higher concept to give meaning and structure to our lives. Since the west largely abandoned religious faith, people find other deities to worship.
They will seek famous role models and behave accordingly in a subconscious attempt to please them or be like them, or at least their interpretation of them. We form tribes based on our allegiances to these people and our interests. It gives people a sense of belonging, being a part of something larger than themselves.
Ultimately these people are probably far happier than all of the "intellectuals" browsing Sup Forums. Trying to rationalise everything and approaching life by over analysing and criticising, makes us miserable loners who are incapable of just enjoying life.

Why does every single one of you fuckers have the emotional worldview of 15 year old girls who like anime

Your refusal to not pathologize people who dislike the things you like is what makes people alienate themselves from you, extroverteds are cancer who need a group to think, they are parasites leeching out of the others and imposing an explicit order and structure around the lifes of the community

These cunts don't respect themselves yet feminism dictates men must respect them. Nah.
Just opt out of it. Where I live more and more young people, even normies, are opting out of drinking. The people who continue to do drugs and get fucked at parties are degenerates and they deserve each other. If they want to roll about in their filthy shit and puke covered, STD-ridden, code violating warehouses, then that's their business, and they can deal with the fallout.

Sit back and wait. Things are going to get nasty very soon, and those degenerates too distracted to see it will be the first to take the hit. Spread your beliefs if you can, but otherwise just stick to your guns and hunker down, they'll see their mistake in time, even if it's too late for them.

Being understanding of the overall state of things is somehow equivalent to emotional worldview of a 15 year old? Your own narrow viewpoint and edgy intellectual introvert persona is exactly how a teen would think.
Just because you don't want to be a part of the group that does the things you describe, does not mean you don't crave acknowledgement. Nobody wants to be alone, you post on here because you want others to care what you have to say. If you were truly independent and are completely satisfied with yourself then you would have no need to waste your time seeking validation on here.
You are so concerned with the individual snowflake meme that you can't even consider the possibility of connecting with people who do not see the world through your lens. You are not some stoic greek philosopher, Einstein or Tesla, you are just another autist who compares himself to these people to justify the pointless and miserable life you live.

I agreed with you untill the last sentence, but even then still partly. I find happiness as a pursuit an unethical - and useless - one. you will find happiness in pursuit, but not in pursuit of happiness because it's impossible to feel any kind of progress in that, which is where we derive our feeling of happiness from, progress on our lives. just wanting to be happy costs you precious time which you could use to help family, friends, reach goals and advance society and by making those your goals even become happy yourself.
following the false god of happiness and wanting to belong only leads to destruction.

Surely if he, I or you cared about having others acknowledge us we wouldn't be posting on a website that markets itself on its anonymity. Here we aren't people so much as we are the ideas we present. As faggy as that sounds.
Gabriel Bennett
Anonymity just allows us to post our thoughts without having our identity tied to it. Giving us a chance to express how we truly feel. Our self worth is tied to the things that make up our identity, not identity itself. Nobody actually gives a shit about you as an individual, the only person who cares about you is you. The idea is still a representation of the person who posted it, people responding to that idea will have an emotional response on the poster.
If anything, it's probably even worse. Some random user could completely destroy ones core values, because you are not held accountable for your actions. Once your identity is involved, you are less inclined to share true feelings. Especially in real life, you are less inclined to criticise others in fear of being rejected by society.
Some pretentious bullshit to ponder over. Maybe i'm wrong, its up to you to decide.

>does not mean you don't crave acknowledgement. Nobody wants to be alone, craving acknowledgement and interacting with other people are two very different things, your type seems to think social interaction is about switching places between sender and receiver to help each other calm this crave, thats a very egoistic and 15 yo girl/blogger way of seeing human communication
>you post on here because you want others to care what you have to say. If you were truly independent and are completely satisfied with yourself then you would have no need to waste your time seeking validation on here. im sorry if you are too dumb to google some japanese words, but this whole place is a collaborative fan-fiction about internet politics based on the "fill in the gaps" game, its nothing more than that, we take media and reutilize it to create funny alternative epistemological universes, then leak them around till they gain life of their own

Is there a way to deal with the hedonism of the people around me and nudge them in a positive direction?
I like wholesome experiences. And other people still like them too. It's just that nobody seems to value them or know how to have them anymore. It's alienating.
I want to be me. But I'd like to cope in a way that fits me and makes for positive experiences with all but the most degenerate people. How do I pass as a god-tier normie?
Kevin Russell
I for one enjoy reading your posts bongbro and I think your points are valid
Connor Wilson
>How do I pass as a god-tier normie? Good hygiene + plug yourself up to whatever media your social circles consume, its gives you an underlaying shared reality to operate within
then you just reference it when you communicate, you can use it as smalltalk, as a source for allegories and metaphors, or fill moments with "Did you see that thing???"
also try to keep up on its trends, not entirely doe, going too-far is a thing, you need to be in the safe middle range, but if you manage to get to the most "current" region of it you will get more points
Jaxon Hughes
I enjoyed the post for encouraging us to be critical, but it's not like normal people aren't suffering in the long-run, either. Nobody is satisfied anymore.

Lead by example but be prepared that others won't follow. Times have changed and maybe our way of thinking is overdue. Its hard to accept but it's basically evolution, adapt or be thrown on the trash heap of history.
Like soldiers in WW1 that expected enemys with swords and horses just to be mowed down by MG's and gas. You have to adapt to the environment or perish.
Josiah Taylor
It's not unreasonable to want somebody to care about what you have to say, otherwise what's the point of saying anything at all? You don't just have interactions for the sake of having conversation, it's illogical, unless it is used for constructive purposes. You obviously care enough to try and rebuke my argument. We are not robots who see everything as binary, without emotional drive there is no reason to do anything.
Your whole disagreement seems to stem from my last paragraph. I don't disagree with you. I'm no different than the people I was demonising in my original post. I may have generalised the entire community under the same autismal label. However, based on my experience of this place, I would say my generalisation is somewhat justified, albeit unfair. I was trying to say that normies are usually not concerned with understanding and just take things at face values, therefore they are much more contempt with the baser things in life. While the intellectuals spend far too much time in their heads in pursuit of things that they think will make them happy. Nowhere did I identify as one or the other.
Maybe I am wrong, I'm just spouting bullshit on an taiwanese knitting forum to create a conversation. Don't take what I say as absolute truth.
Joshua Hall
I don't really care whether people acknowledge me or not. It's nice to have discussions but I mostly do this as a way to articulate my thoughts for my own sake. I'm not a philosopher or particularly well read, therefore, my ideas might be complete bullshit. Having people disagree with my gives me incentive to rethink my ideas and maybe eventually come out with something worth a damn.
Gabriel Foster
those people would have been just as vapid and boring before the degeneracy
John Hill
Nah your doing well. Writing down what bothers you and having a conversation about it is far healthier than being bitter all the time.
Formulating your own views outside of your head leads to far greater insight than just thinking about it.
