Here we discuss and appreciate greatest pieces of European art.
I`ll start with "Ivan The Terrible And His Son Ivan On November 16, 1581" by Russian artist Ilya Repin (1885), portraying notorious Ivan the Terrible horrified by realization that he just murdered his eldest and favorite son in a fit of rage. To me this is one of the most haunting images I`ve ever seen, just look at his eyes, pure horror and madness has overtaken his being. In a way he looks more dead than his son. Can non-europeans even compete?
School of Athens, 1509 - 1511, Raphael. With such beautiful detail, this painting depicts the progress of the High Renaissance. With Plato in the left side of the center and his student, Aristotle, on the right, it clearly shows the progress of the arts and religious belief during the time. Other noticeable figures include Plotinus, Socrates, and Ptolmey.
there was a huge dump of Art on /t/ a while back pretty sure the magnet link is still in the archives somewhere

Id say its after ww1 that things got worse and worse , also the photography gave a big kick in the butt those who were ruling academystic styles, witch leaded to artists questioning every little detail of art; the most degenerate being (4me) suprematism

>Pantheon >Three sisters >Colosseum >Roman Forum >Arc of Constantine >Ancient Roman basilica in Roman Forum It's all Rome.
He actually was of an average male height of that time. Also he is depicted here literally as larger than life figure, so don`t bully Napoleon.
Evan Bailey
>yfw half the paintings posted here are exposed in your country. >yfw you see them twice a year. >yfw you live in Paris >yfw all of this is eclipsed by the fact that we have imported the religion of peace

Was going to war over Poland worth it? Imagine a Third Reich in Europe that (((Churchill))) didn't aggress. Too bad he realized his error too late:

>Despite being more than 70 years old, Żółkiewski continued in active service as a military commander until the very end. He died on 7 October 1620, during the Commonwealth's retreat after the battle of Cecora against the Turks, during the Polish–Ottoman War (1620–1621) which marked the end of the Moldavian campaigns. The battle comprised several engagements, in which Polish forces were routed. During the last rout Żólkiewski was killed; according to an anecdote he refused to retreat, preferring to stay with the rear guard till the very end. Before his death he received the blessing of his confessor. Grandfather of Jan Sobieski.

If Nazis aka niggers of europe won most of these paintings would be destroyed for example Jan Matejko stuff was large source of German butthurt and had to be hidden as they had tendency to chimp out like niggers.

On what grounds would they be destroyed? Only degenerate art, art without meaning or substance, decadent art was frowned upon. I don't think their butthurt had much to do with paintings; rather, it was a more Jewish origin.
