Don't know how to say in this case because Stalin and Khrushchev were not patriots but surely there was a strong pro-russian sentiment in the people because they were part of WW2 victory and I bet in some way or another that was a unifying factor even by Communist Party standards.
This is a must book for you. It's not related to WW2 but it's about what we are talking regarding moral values.
