Why is it so hard for China (a manufacturing and steel production power house) to build an aircraft carrier? The U.S. has 10, and China is just now getting one that they bought second hand from the Ukraine.

Its the middle Kingdom mentality. Also the US is so far ahead of everybody right now whats the point? Why not invest in carrier killers instead.

They don't have the okay from King Nigger to build one just yet. China is pathetic and an Indian-Australian alliance can decimate that nation of losers.

Maybe they realize aircraft carriers are an obsolete weapon that can be obliterated easily by a barrage of cruise missiles.

Carrier is pretty complicated thing. I served on Kuznetsov, and I amazed that they manage to refit Varyag without any R&D.

t. Ph.D in modern warfare

You realize once they perfect one, they will reverse engineer and duplicate many

I'm a #CruiseMissile now

A

FUCKING

its 3rd hand, russia - ukraine - now china

SAD!

Extremely expensive to build, arm, and maintain, limited strategic use for their agenda (most of their immediate interests are in close proximity, not half way around the world where they'd need a ship to reach), and they realize how easy carriers are to sink in case of an actual war. Basically, they haven't had any need for them until recently.

Because aircraft carriers are generally meant to last for 40-50 years.

China doesn't make quality.

I mean, he is right. ACCs are good for bullying small countries but a) even Russia can afford to ret a path of dirt for an airfield in any neighborhood we need to and b)they are absolutely useless against any major power because the have a target paintet all over them.

But as other's said, primary reason chink's dont have one is they are hard to build, not some nostalgic waxing about their usefulness. Any major power should have a couple

RAMP

It took their contractors a while to figure out how to make fake sealant to keep the cardboard filler they used for the hull from absorbing seawater right away and collapsing.

POO

Because if you want poisonous plastic toys or cheap, shitty tennis shoes, you go to the chinks. If you want arc furnace components, fusion reactor coils, or aircraft carriers, you go to America. The technology difference is stark.

Aircraft carriers are not very useful unless you plan to dick around with some third world shitholes.

If a carrier group turns up on your coast you are pretty much fucked. You can build all the dirt air fields you want but a carrier can move.

>inb4 russian vatnik butthurt rage about their steam powered tub

I don't really understand the importance of an aircraft carrier. Im sure its good for bombing 3rd world sand people, but losing one of those means losing 5000~ men and dozens of aircrafts. I don't know if its worth the risk with how advanced submarines and icbm's are becoming.

You need quality materials to build a vessel on the scale of an aircraft carrier. China manufactures shit-tier ships.

Just like your mum

Because once you default on your debt, they'll pick up your carriers for a few hundred grand a piece.

>If a carrier group turns up on your coast you are pretty much fucked
Call me when you develop stealth or teleporting carriers. Again, when fighting another major power it's very easy to take one out. Subs, cruiserse, cruise missiles, all can do the job on the fraction of cost/man power.

Dirtfield was a bout fucking with small countries.

>"""indegenious""" """POO IN THE LOO""" carrier designed and constructed by Russian engineers
>its another episode of POO IN THE LOO crying about China

t. Russian Ph.D in modern warfare.

oh yes, russian super missile technology from the 60's.

"It's not important, because you can destroy it"
"Air power during an assault means nothing."

Simply put, it has a proven track record
But as many others have pointed out, I'm not sure of its usefulness in a real big players' war - a highly accurate small icbm or shockwave of a bigger one will sink your toy

Please do your research. Russian missiles are actually considered among the best. Why? because it's only field of research we never really suspended. When your existance depends on MAD, you make sure it stays working

>I have no idea what the fuck I'm talking about: The Post

You keks do realize that detonating a nuke within a 500 mile radius would create such a powerful tsunami that your LE SUPER AWESOME AIRCRAFT CARRIER will get crushed like a pepsi can? Fuck, there are so many retards on pol it's fucking ridiculous.

>If a carrier group turns up on your coast you are pretty much fucked.
Please don't talk about things you have no knowledge on

All their tin goes to solder for iphones

Cheers from one sailor to another.

Because they don't have something to easily copy off of.

Most stuff they excel at right now, they learned by breaking American and Japanese products down and trying to build a copy and repeating the process over and over again until they have something that is of comparable quality to the original.

China doesn't have dozens of American aircraft carriers to rip apart and try to copy, so they are having a hard time.

:,)

Also, (((rules of modern warfare))) dictates that tzar bombing a carrier in the pacific causes little to no loss of good goy points (ggp)
While a silo in multicultural shanghai for example, if nuked, will cause an immense loss of ggp

>protecting LGBT values around the world

All the other super powers have them. Without them they can't effectively attack across any major body of water.

Chinks can only make ripoffs

This is what they do. Everyone manufactures their shit in China, so they get their hands on their blueprints and copy that shit. They can't do the same with aircraft carriers. Now they will be able to, after they receive the one from the Ukraine. They can't come up with shit on their own, they rely on copying other people's stuff

have 2 in production now, soon to be out, this coming spring.

Only among other russians. Russian tech is ancient by modern standards.

If you are at the stage where you are nuking each other, no fucking tank/ship/whatever will save you. But how many times other than japan has anyone been nuked?

We have 19 technically. With a few more in reserve and under construction at any given time.

It always amazes me how China is incapable of making anything original. They always have to steal western tech and reverse engineer it. Why is this, exactly?

Having backdoors in routers is far more useful.

Why built Carriers when it literally takes 2 or 3 of these to sink one?

Because you can't cut corners when making an aircraft carrier.

SHIIIIEEEEETTTT

They take years of experience to actually be an officer good enough to lead one. Chinese only conscript their people for 2 years, not a lot of experienced officers in Chinese military, almost none to lead a fleet. Chinese have never really been leaders of navel power in the world, especially the modern world.

Because it just makes sense to copy people who know what they're doing. It's much easier than trying to reinvent the wheel yourself.

Lol DF-26's more Chinese shit can it beat aegis though?

If I gave you a set of surgeon's tools, would you suddenly be able to do surgery?

The US has nearly a *century* of experience building, manning, operating, maintaining, and deploying aircraft carriers. That is a massive ton of experience and information. It will take China decades to reach a similar level of ability.

Because there are usually a fleet of other ships that have the sole job of protecting the air craft carrier. an ACC is more than just a carrier, it's a mobile command center that can house almost anything that a small post or even base can. Everything from special operations to full regional control.

Chinese needs more assets to have more ACC's. They don't have that kind of resources nor do they have experienced people to lead fleets of them like we do. Not even close.

The burgers don't dare to find out so you already know the answer...

>It will take China decades to reach a similar level of ability.
Centuries of their own in all probability. You forget how stupid the average Chinaman is.

Basically this. Even if Chinese got a couple modern aircraft carriers out of nowhere magically at this moment, I doubt that they could really do anything that meaningful with them at wartime. They are powerful but extremely fragile assets that are very hard to use without proper support and experience.

It's only useful against impoverished sand people who don't have any weaponry besides T-55s and AK-47s.

Their goal is to first control the coast up to 200mi from the mainland (sort of doable) then to control the South China Sea.

US's goal is to control the entirety of all of the oceans.

Different goals, different tools.

What I find funnier is how the U.S. is freaking the fuck out over 1 midsize carrier. Even liberal MSM sites are posting these fucking hilarious articles that would otherwise be on some hard right wing website.

>You forget how stupid the average Chinaman is.
Top students in all US universities...

Yah but china backed down like pussies when confronted.

>uses top universities to discuss the average person
Yeah yeah, sure proved him wrong there chang.

It's really not. Anything big enough to take out an ACC can easily be tracked. Remember all those assets we have assigned to just 1 carrier group? They are used to protect it. ACC's aren't cheap, nor expendable. It is not an easy job to take one out.

It's amazing the grades you can achieve by plagiarising published works 100% of the time.

You never confronted anything, burger. Look at the map Getting a bit soft there huh?

I think you are asking the wrong question here.

The real question is would it be cost effective to rely on Aegis to defend missiles in this case.

It becomes a math problem. How much is an Aegis ship/Carrier cost? What is the success percentage on interception? What about multiple-reentry warheads? What if the missiles are capable of vector thrusting maneuver? And finally the whats the cost of DF-26.

They also cheat like crazy, while having no concept of why it's wrong and dishonest.

The funnier thing being that most people, OP included, don't realize we actually have 19 carrier, not 10.

We have twn super carriers and nine escort carriers that the Navy rebranded assault ships so no one would realize they have 19 fucking carriers and cut their funding.

Every day faggots on pol:

>Carriers are useless relics of the past!
>Everyone has anti-carrier missiles, they're useless, that's why only the U.S. wants them! USA stupid!

Then China goes and procures a carrier and plans to get more.

Which one is it you faggot nigger fucks?

>Dumbasess who didn't even get into Top-10 uni
1 nuke in the vicinity of a carrier group = crushed like tin cans.

Because they can't. Most shipyards don't have the equipment needed to make something so big.

It's 2016. Carriers are unsinkable, no matter how fast the missiles are or how many of them are fired. Missiles are obsolete nowadays because kinetic defenses installed on carriers and surrounding ships have become too precise and too effective.
The Chinese don't have carriers because there are no western companies producing them in China.

I bet you'd like to do something else, one sailor to another, too.

China wants them to fuck up Vietnam, nothing more.

Mess with Cruz
You're gonna lose

You say that like nukes are easy to get away with. You know how easy it is to track a nuke? Especially a large nuke. Small nukes require aircrafts to transport. Again, remember all those ships that usually surround an ACC? Their SOLE job is to keep shit from getting to an ACC. Not an easy task to hit an ACC.

>Then China goes and procures a carrier and plans to get more.
China procured a carrier from Ukraine more than 10 years ago.

Stray chinks please get the fuck back to China and choke on the smog.

Lol going to US debt Everyone knows US could snap back into it if needed Fucking Arabia tries to strangle out US shale by dropping oil so low. US has oil and all the fucking natural resources its needs that debt is artificial.

I did as a matter of fact.

Though I must say I wonder why anyone in Canada would be talking about top ten universites. Surely you've never even seen one.

Nagato survived 2 nukes just a few kilometers away. It was a battleship tho.

Then she ended up sinking anyway in a few days cause of undetected internal damage.

...

>You know how easy it is to track a nuke? Especially a large nuke.
How exactly would this knowledge help you in case of an attack? Not to mention how exactly would you detect an ICBM or medium range missile launch. It's a meme.
Those were small yield nukes.

>Nagato survived 2 nukes just a few kilometers away.

Modern nukes are much, much, much more powerful than anything that was tested back then.

White people stole gunpowder from them and reverse engineered it.

Aircraft carriers are ww2 technology and every simulation of a carrier group going up against cheap Iranian speedboats has the carrier group getting fucked up even though the hardware costs 10000x as much

Great for bombing niggers somewhere, but eventually the US is going to pull its typical shit in some backwater and its going to run into and enemy that has been equipped by a hostile power to Fock the us up

You better fact check that statement hoss

We nuked a carrier twice too, had to scuttle it.

I want to say USS Independence?

Yeah and silk worms too. They hid them in a walking stick.

You will not get a large missile past the carrier fleet's defenses, and starting a nuclear war with the US is literally the dumbest thing you could possibly do.

>early warning is a meme
>what are satellites staring at every nuclear site known to the U.S
>what are other satellites staring at every possible sites known to the U.S
>what are even more satellites staring at almost every known strategic region known to the U.S
You think we put thousands of satellites into space just cuz muh science? You've a lot to learn about U.S military spending.

Thanks for the rare merchant

They weren't there to steal from the Germans unfortunately.

That doesn't necessarily matter. The testing determined that the sea itself dissipates an assload of energy from the blast in anywhete but reasonably shallow water.

It acts as a giant airbag.

I mean sure everyone will be dead and the thing will be irradiated but a carrier is highly unlikely to sink in a nuclear blast. Especially modern ones that are built with super bouyant honeycomb structure.

Someone's been watching Marco Polo.

>White people stole gunpowder from them and reverse engineered it.

They did not steal it. They saw the potential in it and improved it.

>BECAUSE I SAID SO
k
