primarily used to push for communism, majority created, owned and controlled by jews

In France we call tem syndicates, quite appropriate name.

They no longer protect the workers, they protect the wallets of those in control of the unions.

Private unions are fine, they help workers compete for decent wages, because otherwise employers would pay the minimum
Public unions with mob bosses are cancer that get paid by union dues

ONIONS ARE LIKE OGRES

The whole "holding the rest of the country to ransom in hopes they'll get an even sweeter deal for themselves" bit.

Didnt know there was a difference but i do agree with you on the being owned by the mob part. Unions just protect the upper managment of said union. The stories i was told by some ex union guys.

unions are terrorist groups.

they've destroyed every industry they infest.

Here's an idea, if workers want to make the decisions, they can pool their money and start their own company. Workers are paid to work, they don't control the company.

>Why does everyone hate unions so much?
They created the middle class, and as such are a threat to the 1%.

European Union, Kalergi plan etc

Unions used to be pretty good. Nowadays they tend towards being their own bureaucracy. Many of the unions support the democrat party in the USA. They used to be based. Now they're part of the problem.

Having to have unions in order to ensure that wages are livable and conditions are acceptable is complete bullshit. Employers who do no provide acceptable wages and work conditions should be drug out onto the street and killed publicly.

Only problem I've had with unions is their likelyhood to protect even the most incompetent and dishonest member. Have to do some serious gymnastics to fire someone, and ownership will often not want the hassle, so worthless cunts remain employed in organization and create drama. My experience.

Because unions are legalized extortion.

union members are fine but theyre represented by disgusting parasites

Because you have to give them money all the time for no return. If you are a good worker you'll never need a union.

They had uses in the past, but now their job is take hard workers money and fight for stupid niggers that do nothing and should be fired, but aren't cause unions get all fuckin uppity.

t. Worked for company with union, they only protected lame Google's who refused to do their jobs

>If you are a good worker you'll never need a union

lmao

That's only in the US.

Here, everyone would love to get an union job, preferably IG Metall.

They used to be good back when companies were paying laborers pennies to work extremely dangerous jobs.

True story

My dad literally had to join the union and had to attend political rallies to keep his job. Last year. Biggest school union in the country.

My mother was harrassed for not attending a union meeting and after refusing to attend one was threatened because "we know where you live bitch." This year. Biggest retail union in the country.

I'm not incompetent, i know my value and don't need to threaten to shut down the company every time the coffee machine is on the fritz.

In the three times in my life i have negotiated my salary i have never had problems and always gotten a raise or promotion. You aren't entitled to a fucking job, and so long as your workplace is safe (which practically every western business place is) the only reason for Unions to exist is for entitled cunts to """collectively bargain""" (read: Extort) more shit out of bosses that they're too limp dicked and undeserving to straight up demand.

Pretty much this.
"Public unions" are unions for government employees. Because they are paid from taxpayer dollars instead of profits from delivering a good or service, the party responsible for paying their salaries does not have a seat at the negotiating table.

Elected officials (mostly Democrats) give public unions generous contracts and in return the public unions automatically take money out of the paycheck of government employees (paid with tax dollars) and give it to those elected officials (mostly Democrats). It's a system created entirely for the purpose of siphoning taxpayer dollars into the coffers of the Democratic Party. It's also why states like Illinois have massive unfunded liabilities.

Government employees have never had need of a union.

Can someone ELI5 what a union is? I have somewhat of an idea but don't know how to put it into words.

Pretty much my experience as well.

because they terrorise the government and give no shit about workers

Unions breed inefficiency and corruption.
They had their time. The problem is they set standards to the lowest common denominator. Innovation and insight are suppressed. Not heralded.

I've been in a union for 10 years now. Before that I spent 3 years doing the same job as a contractor for nearly half the pay and literally zero benefits. The contractor didn't even provide the option for 401k or healthcare. I'm a hard worker, but I was constantly in fear of losing my job and I would often work through all of my breaks just to get shot done.

I have a great respect for what the union provides me, but I do feel a bit guilty at times. The retirement and health benefits far exceed what anyone in the private sector would get for doing this job.

It also really sucks to see that the majority of my union "brothers and sisters" (kek) try their best to abuse their position. I would say 90% of them don't deserve their job and would have been fired if they worked here for a contractor.

I like the idea of a union, but I don't see a way to keep the corruption out (from both leaders and members). I would vote to abolish my own union just to watch all the lazy fucks lose their jobs.

10 years, never been to a single union meeting/event. They don't care as long as they get their dues.

Only public unions are bad Imo

People who have never been in a union or were in a shitty chapter complain and have bias and parrot shit they've heard.

I'm in a union and the union dues are kind of shitty but I've got amazing benefits and a great pay at a job that would probably have me making 5$ less if the company had its way.
They have this preconception that some overlord bosses rake in all the money and make all the deals.
False.

In my union. At my job, the deal makers are your fellow coworkers.

That means only union members who work at that job cam negotiate. All workers vote for those representatives.
Also you vote for who the president of the union is. It's a fully functional Democratic republic.
So know, all these people saying unions are for bosses to get mega rich and do nothing for the worker is completely false.
The president's don't negotiate.

Your coworkers, who you vote for, negotiate.
At least that's how my union is, teamsters.
These fags are either uninformed and are parroting talking points or actually spreading disinformation.

S'not that everyone hates unions. Unions can be as much parasitic capitalism as large corporations can.

To me, they're a cyclical centrism beast; they're going to be times when you NEED unions for collective bargaining against the establishment to get a better standard for the working class. Then, after those times they're equally long times of unions not doing their job, limiting worker's growth and leeching off the workers without providing anything for them, so they need disbanding. Then the corporations limit working rights, so they're needed again. Etc etc etc.

They also should never be mandatory you join, or collect fees for people who don't benefit from them. That would be the times they become corrupt.

The industrial revolution created the income levels between what was classically split as owners and laborers. Without a relatively free market, the industrial revolution (and technological revolution) would've been trampled by the existing interests who did not want the status quo to change.

Unions could only come into existence in the first place thanks to the excess production started by the industrial revolution. Without additional resources to fight for, unions have no reason to exist. The predecessors to unions, namely collectives, cooperatives, guilds, and even owner-serf relationships could only aim to ensure survival as not enough excess production existed to give everyone a higher quality of life.

because the rich people that own everything have convinced you that you can trust them not to abuse you

Unions should have never been allowed to get involved in politics or lobbying. It blows my mind how no one has even addressed this problem.

how can you take money from workers you are supposed to represent and then spend it on some political ends that have nothing to do with your union? the culinary union comes to mind when they spent millions attacking the UFC and Station Casinos.

just ask londoners

>jewish extortion racket
whats not to hate?

M134 needed against that picket line.

This.

because Sup Forums loves getting fucked by the jews

You're retarded.

I don't know but that blatant anti-union propaganda I was force fed when I first started at Walmart a decade ago was a hell of an experience.
