First, the US has meddled in the elections of other countries for decades. Calling out Russia for what they did is fine, but Obama acting like this is some moral outrage is just pathetic and hypocritical.
What the US has been doing in Syria, arming and training rebels so they can start a civil war, is exactly what Russia is doing in the Ukraine. I don't support Russia, but Obama has no right to act morally outraged at what they did in the Ukraine. Russia's war in the Ukraine has resulted in far fewer deaths and human rights abuses than the US's war in Syria.
I don't like Putin or Trump, and I certainly wouldn't want to live in Putin's Russia, but despite their obvious flaws both men have popularity in the west because they're the only well known politicians who are actually pointing out the massive problems with our countries.
