Is it better to raise your child to fear God or is it better to raise your child to love God?
Is a god that is indifferent to your fate a better god than a god that cares about you?
Take Conan's god Crom as an example. To Crom, the universe is indifferent and Crom couldn't care less about anyone's particular fate. He only comes around when he sees that an individual stands up and fights with courage and selflessness, and doesn't ask for help from others.
Does a god like this encourage its followers to be individuals who do things on their own and take personal responsibility? Would a god like crom be the most libertarian of gods?
I feel a god like yahweh, where love is encouraged above all else, creates wimps out of its followers. People who accept their fate and just give up.
I've always treated "fear of the lord", as healthy sense of respect, just like you respect your parents. It makes sense to fear God's punishment if you don't abide by his laws, and at the same time love him for providing you with life and salvation.

Crom would smite people like Obama and Hillary therefor Crom does not exist and is purely fiction. If only. God, or Yahweh will reward those who try. He is not a vengeful God, not after he had a kid. He chilled out after.

It's best to raise your child to think critically, then let them decide when they're adults. Churches want religious education for little kids because you have to hook them when they're young. Kids implicitly trust what adults tell them, it's easier to sell them on fairy tales at that age.
Liam Adams
>raise your child to think critically This. If you can think critically, you are far more resistant to Jewish trickery. Brainwashing them with ancient kike religions is just being a good shabbos goy and doing their job for them.

God is metaphysical construct to explain evolutionary mechanisms of nature to protect dna from retardation and send retards to underworld (depression, suffering, homosexuality, etc)
now should child understand that consequences are real and there are biochemical and epigenitic mechanism to punish him for being retard?
your choice how to explain it - you can call it karma or call it epigenitics - but usually humans better understand it by example - firstly of yourself and your wife as well as archetypical stories you tell them

>Is it better to raise your child to fear God or is it better to raise your child to love God? It is better to raise your child to think logically about the situation and only go where the evidence follows instead of just teaching them a religion.
Like for example teach them all sorts of religious beliefs and their history while telling them to only worship a deity if it can be backed up by evidence. >Is a god that is indifferent to your fate a better god than a god that cares about you? The latter but on the basis that it actually more shows a deity exists rather then the first one.
Indifference is akin to non existence to the fact that a indifferent God and no God gives you the same fate. What really is the difference between no God and a God that does nothing? But i am guessing you mean a God that is proven to exist but not to meddle in our affairs? >Does a god like this encourage its followers to be individuals who do things on their own and take personal responsibility? Would a god like crom be the most libertarian of gods? Yes. >I feel a god like yahweh, where love is encouraged above all else, creates wimps out of its followers. People who accept their fate and just give up. Yahweh turns people into cucks and sheep as it tends to be the castration of reason and masculinity especially when churches teach that men should kiss women's asses and let women preach and teach them.

I've seen kids who were raised like this. Only one turned out ok, but we're still pretty young at this point. All of the others are on pharmaceuticals and had a really fucked up life, which they caused. They have no sense of community or culture, which is the worst part of it.
>Like for example teach them all sorts of religious beliefs and their history while telling them to only worship a deity if it can be backed up by evidence
Self cuck for logic, basically?
I'm a realist and stick to evidence, and I'm not religious. But I wouldn't start a family without having a sane, conservative church to call my own. I don't want my kids ending up like the ones who had parents like you.

Or to teach your child the logical fallacy known as "argument to ignorance" by making the false claim "God does not exist." BTW: you cannot compare the possibility or God's existence to that of flying spaghetti, unicorns, or smurfs. They all vary in probability. God is certainly more likely to exist than any of those things. You atheists are dumb.
Hunter Sanchez
>God is certainly more likely to exist than any of those things
Nolan Morales
Expert here. Having tripped out on acid and seeing God gives me insight into the situation. Everyone feels the same exact pains at some point, to hurt someone else is to hurt yourself. God even feels this pain himself. But he really only cares about the best of the best, who he will let into Heaven, who will stop the suffering of others and enlighten the World.
Adam Morris
I sometimes wonder how many fairy tales are being spread by the scientific community these days. In this day and age where everything is politically motivated, it is difficult to trust what anyone is saying. Science works but not all "scientists" can be trusted. To say that they never lie would be a logical fallacy. You then say "ah.. but there is peer review!" So? How the hell is peer review going to solve anything when the scientific community does everything that it can to eliminate those who believe in God and their alternative explanations? Of course they are going to win peer review because they are all fucking biased asshats..
Christopher Lopez
Don't need proof because I never even stated my position you intellectually inferior retard.
Brandon Ross
>God is certainly more likely to exist than any of those things >not a position wew lad

the fear of God is a tool to get your children to fear (and therefore respect) you, the parent.
Jordan Williams
Well, if you are going to automatically assume that something does not exist and demand proof of something when all the other person is saying is "It is at least possible" then you deserve ridicule. You do it to us, but when we point out your flaws you guys get all butt hurt and bent out of shape over it. You cannot prove the universal nonexistence of a God. It isn't possible.
Angel Gomez
Raise your children to see God as a father and all the positive connotations that go with that figure.
Levi Martin
That's right. I never stated what my position was Mr. Straw Man. If I said "There is a God" then you might have a point. that being said, even if I say "I believe in God" you demanding proof would still be a straw man because the claim is "I believe in God" and not "God exists." Otherwise, maybe all of us should demand proof from all of the scientists who believe in aliens. "The universe is so large that aliens probably exist" NO SHIT DUMBASS! Guess what, God could exist too.
Bentley Diaz
>automatically assume that something does not exist This is the default assumption for everything, you mongoloid. When I tell you I have 3 eyes in my head, you would understandably want proof. If you believed everything anyone told you, your worldview would be severely contradictory and contaminated with false information. Assuming something doesn't exist until proofs are delivered is completely different from categorically saying "X does not exist".
>when all the other person is saying is "It is at least possible" No. You said >God is certainly more likely to exist than any of those things which is not merely acknowledging the possibility of God's existence, but already ranking it on an ordinal scale of probability. This statement is what I demand evidence for.
>You cannot prove the universal nonexistence of a God. It's a good thing I never made this claim.
Connor Ross
To assume that something does not exist is a logical fallacy. It may be the default for some in todays "dumbed down" academia, but it certainly is a fallacy if you go by the book. Argument to ignorance. Yes, I did say that God is more likely to exist than something like smurfs, or flying spaghetti since you asshats seem so eager to compare the exist of God on the same line of probability. This is dumb since we do not even have enough understand of our own universe to compare the existence of God on the same level as some dumb fucked up cartoon character.
Logan Hill
There is no difference. If one loves God, one fears rejecting Him.
Julian Peterson
>I've seen kids who were raised like this. Only one turned out ok, but we're still pretty young at this point. All of the others are on pharmaceuticals and had a really fucked up life, which they caused. They have no sense of community or culture, which is the worst part of it. Blame their fucking parents for putting them on the goddamn meds then. >I'm a realist and stick to evidence, and I'm not religious. But I wouldn't start a family without having a sane, conservative church to call my own. I don't want my kids ending up like the ones who had parents like you. Churches do not guarantee moral kids will come out it only guarantees the immoral kids will become better at hiding then their secular counterparts.
I grew up in the church and the only thing they did was force our asses underground to do all the filthy things the world was doing (sometimes even literally).
So i suggest taking your kid to church to only teach them how to be secretive in life as they have to hide the sins from their preacher/priest. >user, you're smug prick and all your children will be spiritually poor. Spirits are not backed up by evidence and probably do not even exist. And being spiritual is not what makes you survive in this world rather being practical does.
So stop with your bullshit or back it up with evidence?
Charles Evans
"fear" is the wrong word to use, too much negative connotation, what it means is "don't bite his hand", and if you do, lick it afterwards as a signal of remorse
Leo Ortiz
Think of the ideal man that you want to be... That you want your son to be.
Then call it god. And tell your son that god is always watching him and judging him according to the ideal standard that you lay out.

Love > Fear The kids who have teh Gawd hammered into their brains as kids go insane when they grow up. Those church girls get to college and fuck, smoke, and drink EVERYTHING. Love is more congruent with a healthy-minded, well-adjusted, and balanced individual.
Isaiah Gomez
>it certainly is a fallacy if you go by the book No, it isn't. Where the fuck did you learn your logic?
Argument to ignorace means that a proposition is true because it has not yet been proved false. THAT is the logical fallacy, and the one you are currently committing. If you accept this fallacy, then logic no longer means anything, because when burden of proof is discarded, any premises and conclusions in a syllogism are considered correct.
This is elementary stuff, jesus christ.
Gavin King

Read more into Orthodox and Traditional Catholic spirituality & practice. They follow a spirituality of endless war, unseen spiritual war, where you are a member of an army, the Church Militant, fighting Satan, sin & evil, with Christ at your side.
Proper Christianity is a martial religion of intense war fervour. The book you want to read about is called "Unseen Warfare" or "Spiritual Warfare". It's gone through a few different versions as different Catholic & Orthodox writers have updated and added to it.
That argument can go either way. If you make the claim "God does not exist" then it is up to you to prove that he doesn't. Just one problem for you: You cannot prove the universal nonexistence of God unless you travel to every corner of the universe and beyond. You would need to be all knowing. It is a fallacy because just like the asshat scientists who mocked fisherman who reported seeing the giant squid. We now know that these animals exist. They also existed during the time in which these scientists were basically saying "the burden of proof is you." When you are talking about the universe, or the possibility of something existing in the universe, or beyond, there is no way to know anything about this. We can barely leave our own solar system. It is stupid for anyone to make any assumptions and YES it is a logical fallacy and YES it is argument to ignorance. Go back to school

>fear God Your child should be brought up to both love and respect god, not fear him. Fearing God makes you turn out like a subhuman muslim. Christianity teaches us that people should fear their own weakness and seek happiness in eachother(Nationalism) and in their own strentgh(the ability to give up degeneracy). National Socialism is the final evolution of christian ideals.
Joshua Anderson
In other words, things can and do exist whether anyone can prove it or not. Lack of evidence does not necessarily make something nonexistent. That's not how it works. Otherwise new discoveries would magically appear out of thin air.
Gavin Lee

Joseph Murphy
Raise your child to count their blessings. To value their own life, and to recognize all the good things in their life. They will grow up happier and healthier as a result. In the end they will love their creator out of gratitude.
Carson Peterson
>Idk how Natsocialsim really fits that narrative though The Nation State is a collective of people working together for the common good of eachother. NatSoc is basically a system in which the state is designed to bring people up to be strong(value morality over materialism) for and have faith in the nation(which is eachother essentially). It may not focus much on god himself but it certainly is the best way to spread Jesus' message which is more important than personal belief.
Charles Ross
>If you make the claim "God does not exist I didn't make this claim you illiterate tard. This is my position on the matter, for the record: there is no conclusive evidence to support the existence of any supernatural deities, therefore it is more practical to operate on the assumption that no such deities exist until such time that sufficient evidence appears.
>it is stupid for anyone to make any assumptions We must necessarily make assumptions in order to act. Suppose that the issue of a god or gods is put to us. We cannot act without formulating an assumption about the existence of this god; either we act as though it is real, or we act as though it is false. There is no sitting on the fence; at a given point in time either you believe it exists or you don't, either you act as though it exists or you don't, either you follow the tenets of that god's particular religion or you don't. The safest course of action (which is not flawless, remember) is to assume it doesn't exist until evidence is provided, because the converse creates far, far more problems. As I said, if you assumed everything to be true until proven otherwise, you would believe far more falsehoods than truths. Assuming something to be false until proven otherwise drastically cuts down on the likelihood of believing falsehood.
I realize absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. But all that does is require all absolute statements to be preceded by omniscience. It has nothing to do with the burden of proof, which is what we're discussing.
