Wasn't this the guy who stood up to Canadian university students when they claimed he supported Nazis?

he dun look good somalibro

...

where is the video he was going to do about Pepe?

> he is sick! so. thing is very wrong! he needs to see a Doc!

What are these normies saying?

I know user, I am very concerned about his health at this point.

It would be very sad if he fell ill for real.
He was going to do a video on pepe?

He mentioned his health in the video, and he looks much paler and thinner than he has previously

He is a bad ass mother fucker.
youtu.be/04wyGK6k6HE

Yes.
youtube.com/watch?v=e0b5mnuKQvs

Regarding his health maybe he is not just eating and sleeping well because of stress.

...

indeed

encouraged me to get back into religion desu

>the subordination of the group to the ideal of the divine individual is the answer to the paradox of nihilism and totalitarianism
But Islam IS totalitarian.

Yes, why is this phrased as a counterargument?

Zen Buddhist here. I have found that meditation is very useful and kind of necessary for some people.
Walking meditation is the best for me.

Good luck Dr. Peterson!

Wasn't he arguing for it to solve the totalitarian problem?

but Islam is a communistic religion, it's not based on your own self.

Why does he talk like such a jackass? I get that he is le philosophy man, but even Socrates didn't obfuscate his speech this hard

Jordan, rhetoric better my man

>suddenly starts weeping

KEK IS TELLING US TO PRACTICE MEDITATION THROUGH THOSE QUADS! FUCKIN CHECKED

l've seen videos where he says chronic depression runs in his family

l suppose canadian winters and his current situation don't help

I have found him to use quite simplistic language in his lectures, I am able to follow them quite well speaking English as a second language and not having any real knowledge in the field he's discussing

Here's the link by the way, he and his daughter discussing how it and other illnesses have affected them

youtube.com/watch?v=KqXZY3B-cGo

>rare
fuck out of here

Once I got farther into the video he got better. It was mostly the way he talks about things that arent philosophy which annoy me. The first 2 minutes are just unecessarily purple.

Get fried, burger

>ywn marry his daughter and be his son

Will check it out

Nassim Taleb turned me on to going for long/slow walks, didn't think about the meditative aspect

>iktf

>biggest problem is tribalism
Sup Forums is almost exclusively pro-tribalism. Anyone who favors western civilization, any white nationalists, any patriots, etc are all supporting a form of tribalism. Tribalism is stupid when it's about what products you buy but generally it's a biological defense mechanism.

Humanity's biggest problems are liberalism and consumerism. A focus on the material over the spiritual. And when I say spiritual I don't even mean in the religious sense exclusively. Values, fulfillment, virtue, they've all gone by the wayside in favor of the pursuit of pleasure and possessions. Temporary happiness has replaced contentment and it's destroying humanity's soul. As to liberalism it's probably just a byproduct of consumerism and economic liberation. I doubt I need to say why liberalism is bad on Sup Forums

hahahahahahahaa
true :'(

>low threshold for tears

That explains a lot. Also his grandfather and father had depression too.

Maybe taking meds and working out will fix his brain chemistry.

Girls who paint their hairs and use lots of make up are an extreme red flag. They are problematic. Maybe they need help but most of the time they don't want to help.

what does he same goys, I can't listen to professors

I been thinking for a long time if Peterson's depression might have been as a result of low testosterone. Its kind of strange but his voice is very high and his focus is not always racer sharp and he often has very submissive body language gestures. Or perhaps that is due to his agreeableness.

I hope he can chill the fuck out a little because the world needs him.. But i fear that he might subconsciously go down as a martyr for his message.

Dear Peterson, don't martyr your self for your message by overworking and overstressing your self. Chill the fuck out and get your test levels checked

youtube.com/watch?v=Wb55teb1gJ0

Maybe he doesn't eat meat or eats too much vegetables low carbs.

Bacon, butter, bread and eggs in the morning can help you increase testosterone but it may not be enough so you have to do blood test to see if it's lacking.

Except he makes the argument that Western civilization could be central in changing that, making it a society that doesn't focus on us vs them but rather on good vs evil, and tribalism being a part of evil (evil by his definition being the act of intentionally causing suffering).
I think that striving to become the divine man is a very good goalpost for any society,

Richer Spencer is a media attention whore just like David Duke.

>the divine man
The way you write it seems a gnostic/pagan view of divine. I think he meant that to fight nihilism you must find what is divine in each human instead of seeing men just as manipulable emotive objects

Yes that is what I mean, I don't mean that everyone has to be some sort of ubermensch, but rather that people should try to make a conscious effort to act in good rather than not caring.

The part where most people get lost is "act good". They actually follow the kantian ethics or other philosophical theories .. which is extremely vague and problematic.
None of these moral/ethical theories reconnect humanity to the divine

If you understood the path we're headed down, you'd mentally crack as well.

Taking Jordan's side here he defines good as the opposite of evil, and evil being the conscious effort of causing unnecessary suffering. Of course what that means can be subjective but I think it's RELATIVELY easy to grasp as a concept.

I should add that I definitely think that what is and isn't good should be open for discussion and not be seen as something beyond criticism.
>also we got the same digits

Yes pretty much. However when you look at communists (globalists) they think that by causing unnecessary suffering and destruction they are breeding a better society. Obviously most people can understand what he is saying but ultimately they won't find the answers without Christianity.

>marry her
>spend all your time with him
>she cucks and divorces you
>still worth it

Yes, you are indeed correct as what is necessary and unnecessary suffering is subjective, but I think staying away from totalitarianism is necessary for such a discourse to take place.

Man there has to be a way to help him more.

"inclusivity" is somewhat of a mantra here in ontario.

He has a patreon, but I don't think he is in desperate need of monetary support as he is doing quite well on there as it is right now. He gets something like 10k per month atm

i followed JP before the spotlight. he had around 1.5k. now he's at 12. good for him.

Yeah man he deserves it

Agreed.
Here is a quote related to what we are talking

"By dangerous friendships we mean in particular the sensual ones, that is, those which sensual complacency is present, on the common enjoyment of sense pleasures, on certain futile and vain qualities of spirit and heart. These friendships are already perilous even if in the beginning they have nothing of inconvenience. We should keep our hearts clear of them.''

Isn't that what this guy said?

archive.4plebs.org/pol/thread/103152204/#103152204

Basically turn the world into a global farm of programmed consumers?

get your life in order. he mentioned all the support people have been sending his way, but his advice to people who wanted to help him was to improve their own lives. start with something small, but real. and work from there.
>Postmodernists can't have diversity & inclusiveness at the same time because a category only contains things that are the same.

>making it a society that doesn't focus on us vs them but rather on good vs evil

Literally impossible and I don't feel like explaining why. Once you define evil, anybody that corresponds to the definition will be evil, yes? They will be the "them" of your group. An attempt to overcome "us vs them" is what the current system is trying to do and it's what's producing the current result from an ideological standpoint.

Trying to overcome Us Vs Them is some blue pilled shit. Western civilization should not take it upon itself to realize some bullshit humanistic project. It'll just die trying. It is.

Read the other posts I made in response to the brazillian poster, I agree that my post that you quoted comes across as naive, and I don't think it's a clear cut solution either.

But I don't think that the dire state that the west finds itself in is a good enough reason to abandon all hope of a better future, or a more morally conscious one at least. What would happen in the case that we would go in the other extreme? Did the world become a better place after the last ideological world war? Well for a while it did but now it seems we are devolving as a society after the post ware era.

There is no hope for society unless we have a major conflict to give us a reset.

He really cares about the future of the world, its like he still has hope lol

Person of the year, imo.

Its probably all the cancer hes been exposed to

Fuck I can't wait to hear him and Harris debating. That's going to be a truly interesting discussion.

SORT YOURSELF OUT

she's a maximum qt

There's an older JP video where he has a beard: youtube.com/watch?v=2c3m0tt5KcE

Watching that, I realized that in both face and especially voice - that scratchy voice - he's the near spitting image of the E.B. Farnum (actor William Sanderson) character on Deadwood.

Sounds like he's been reading David Chapman.

meaningness.com/

Hhnnnngg dat grill

Peterson just sounds...Kermit-y, but with conviction.
the Farnum character has a wavering voice, to match his inconsistent, "born follower" personality.
it's funny - I've read Notes from Underground now, and Farnum reminds me of the "underground man" - he suppresses his feelings of resentment and exclusion under a cloyingly pleasant exterior, but which explode uncontrollably.

This is insane bullshit. Only an academic could think up something so obscure and pretentious.

Your image is nihilism that pol happens to largely approve of. Why not ditch the nihilism and take responsibility for improving your corner of the world?

PRAISE KEK!!!

Sorry. in what sense is Islam a communistic religion?

He sounds pretty optimistic to me

only on pol would he be considered optimistic

Hes suggesting tribalism is bad because it fragments society - except he refuses to accept a racially homogeneous society can be united in tribalism.

Hes our ally against radical leftism, but he is against our views. Hes does not share our ideology, and I have heard no valid argument against national socialism or the far right out of him.

It's not nihilistic. The image can be true prophecy...it all comes to pass...we remain Men Against Time.

He's rambling, what does he mean about the divine (masculine) individual? Is he afraid of the (feminine) group feminizing the divine individual or some figurehead hoodwinking the group, as in fascism?

This. When you stare into the abyss as he has, it cannot help but affect you, especially when you see others trying their level best to send us all into that hell.

The money is not the problem. He's clearly driving himself into the ground doing this shit, someone needs to stop him before he gets a heart attack or something.

World domination is more important than saving your soul.

the ends justify the means. Same doctrine the Bolsheviks held.

The Quran condemns suicide but there are the Hadiths.

But...
Quran (2:191)
>191. And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah is worse than killing. And fight not with them at Al-Masjid-al-Haram (the sanctuary at Makkah), unless they (first) fight you there. But if they attack you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.

It describes a cycle that repeats over and over again that nobody can control that never stops and never gets better. It implies that nothing you do about it matters; you have no responsibility. If your ability to change things doesn't exist then your life has no meaning. nihilism

Oh, I see what you mean. I interpreted it differently: that we will suffer the same outcome unless we change our ways.

The last line validates your interpretation over mine. I still like the image because it carries truth. But we haven't died the first death, not even close.

This is literally Leon Trotsky and Vladmir Lenin islamic version

Quran 5:33

SAHIH INTERNATIONAL
>Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment,

Quoran 9:5
>And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

Do it for him bros

It's not communistic but it's based around submission. The whole point is to follow the rules and conform so as to get to paradise.

Sometimes, the person is turned into a soldier and a kamikaze if it can help spread the religion, because that's what really matters in Islam. It's totalitarian in the sense that the rules and regulation encompasses all aspect of life and can be enforced by a state whose role it is to make sure the Shariah is respected, which effectively requires the abolition of personal freedoms.

Muslims should not be given human rights. I'm not trying to be edgy I literally believe this.

I don't think I want to watch this anymore, my life sucks too much already as it is.

>Sometimes, the person is turned into a soldier and a kamikaze if it can help spread the religion

Trotsky literally said this: "Good or bad does not exist. Instead we can consider if it's good or bad for the party".

This man is based beyond belief. A real truthsayer.

>The moment you realize he lives in Toronto
>The moment you realize he has to see liberals and SJW freaks on a daily basis

Depression explained.

he is Sup Forums's only weakness

It's probably not too incorrect to say that Islam is jihad, if one understand this to mean both the "greater" and "lesser" jihad. It is only through striving -- the literal meaning of jihad -- that one can submit to the rules of Islam, both personally and socially. Sometimes, it is necessary to sacrifice oneself in the "lesser" jihad so as to make sure that other also submit to the religion. What is good for the religion, both at a personal and global level, is the measuring stick through which one determines whether or not it is good or bad.

The only exceptions to this seem to have been those instances in which Muhammad himself had revelations which applied to him and his situation only. (The special exception the Koran gives Muhammad so he can marry some girl, for instance.)

The start of Islam is mohammed and his cult killing people. The fact they appear in nice progressive clothing doesn't change the nature of it.

NANIIIIIII

it sounds to me that he's talking about the divine individual, which he talks about with clear reference to Jesus, as well as Mary and the infant Jesus, as just the most recent manifestation of a much older idea: the figure of Osiris in ancient Egypt, traced back as early as the god-king Marduk in Babylon - the divine individual who can mediate between chaos and order, to use his consciousness detect what needs fixing and to attend to it.

the massive decrease in religious identification is having negative repercussions at every level in society. he stresses that people shouldn't be expected to believe in facts about the world, but to identify with them and act out the values they exemplify in the world.

without people taking responsibility for the world's suffering, the structure of society will worsen until things get so chaotic that he fears that people will demand a fascistic leader to bring things back into order by force.

he doesn't talk about feminizing the divine individual. instead he's talking about the fact that both men and women possess both ideals within themselves, but that for each one is in the foreground, and the other is in the background. this is an idea Jung recognized, the Animus/Anima idea.

rather, he's seeing a climate of the worst aspects of the feminine predominating in our culture: he mentions judgement and pity near the end.

less about rights, more about responsibility.

It not really about organized religion, more about philosophy.

Alongside a technological evolution there is also a spiritual one. The archetypes in Myths and Religions, heroes and prophets are a grand tale of the experience of consciousness and human existence.

Its actually tvtropres but not retarded, there are moral truths and ways to differently engage our emotions and reality.
3 great thinkers in particularly were important to this and very few people understand what they were on about, and that is what I find Jordan interesting.

Nietzsche, Jung and Mircea Eliade were on to something and funnily they have been called far right in order to throw shit at their ideas.

Then just go straight to 20:00, senpai.

looks like hes got a mid to late stage cancer judging by his rapid wait loss, paleness, etc.

knowing the canadian health system he'll be dead by february. rip
