I hate Islam with an enormous passion. But out of the two main sects it's clear that Sunni Islam is much worse. Shia Muslims appear to be more moderate but is it just taqiyya? If the amount of Sunni Muslims were to decrease dramatically would Shias increase violent terrorist activities in Western societies?
In Iran, they celebrate Death to America days and many Shia Muslims are against things that are generally accepted in Western societies.

The "Death to America" thing you hear is mostly a phrase lost in translation. It is a very common phrase in Iran. Like if you go to a bakery and you buy a pastry that turns out to be shit, an Iranian might say "Death to pastry". It does not mean he wants to blow up the bakery.

There is nothing wrong with having an unfavorable opinion about Islam as a whole but "nuke the whole region, kill all muslims" is a retarded and childish view that's completely unrealistic anyway. Anyone who isn't Jewish or Sunni who studies the subject enough realizes that the Saudis and Wahhabism are the real threat and that if the Saudis were overthrown and the Shia run the middle east then the west would be a lot safer.

Shias are the ones fighting to keep Christians and other religious minorities from being killed in Syria right now.
If Shias became the majority than sure there might be some who became more opposed to non-muslims but in general the Shia have a deep tradition of being a persecuted religious minority and so they are more aware of that stuff and know how others might feel if Shia treated them poorly.

As I've said before they could be playing their cards intelligently. As of right now, they're a minority in the Muslim world. They hate those terrorist organization because they're Sunni, not because they're terrorist.

I wasn't trying to imply that you were someone who had those views but I wrote that because it's a common view on Sup Forums especially in these sorts of threads so I wanted people who might have been about to post that to read my post and think first.
I have felt extremely negative towards Islam myself at times, but I've also found that hate is bad for me both physically and psychologically.
The only real reason why I've ever felt like that, is because a very strong image has been created, of the idea that Muslims want to destroy literally everything that they don't see as being part of their own culture. Some of them seem very similar to the Daleks from Dr. Who in that respect.
I know not all Muslims are like this, but there seem to be a lot who are, to the point where it is hard to tell who is and who is not.
