So Nigel Farage occasionally does a call-in show on LBC.
Last night he discussed three topics; one of which was the suppression of right-wing opinion in various sectors of society.
I phoned in under a false name and location to discuss the issue.
The show was uploaded to YouTube and I just listened back to the segment I was in. I am not sure what to think of it. Do I sound like a try-hard autist or do I sound normal?
Go to 2:45:35 for the bit I'm in.
He's doing the show all this week so I might phone in again and just do Sup Forums memes.
When I said, "As I'm sure you're probably aware, you've had a few experiences at university", I was referring to the times he's given a speech at a university and received hostility from students.
I hope he didn't interpret it as me mocking the fact he didn't go to university, lol. He did reply with a "hmphhh" sound when I said it.
Please forgive me, Nige.
Nathaniel Johnson
You sound normal laddy
Ethan Lewis
TY.
I sort of got crackly towards the second half of my call and didn't answer his question on my experiences of the EURef at university very well.
At least he agreed with me!
Jeremiah Carter
Do I have an obvious Scottish accent?
Asher Ward
yes
Sebastian Brooks
Does it sound primitive/low-class?
Bentley Hill
It sounds like you only wear kilts and only eat haggis... im a burger, I can't tell whether a scott accent is high or low class. But you didn't sound retarded so thats good
James Gomez
Did my points seem relevant and coherent or did I seem as if I was jumping around?
Thank you, based Burger.
Jackson Flores
We have classes, but they aren't as defined as yours. You can't tell where someone went to school, but you can generally tell rich from poor. That and upperclass people are always college educated, usually with a graduate degree.
Grayson Hughes
>EHM EHM EHM yes. Both my parents are Scottish though so I'm partial to it. Also, nice job
Nathaniel Phillips
I think his hmph was about remember his experiences with universities and the students
Joseph Lee
I see. Thanks.
Did you think my points were any good?
Jace Cooper
You sound like a regular student that's well on his way to becoming an academic senpai. You sounded smart enough and raise some concerns that need to be addressed.
Jason Ramirez
It's the Scottish equivalent to "like" or "uhhhh". It's just a way of bridging together sentences when you are thinking.
I was a bit nervous as this was my first time on a live radio.
Joseph Collins
Yea. I can't imagine being stuck in a Scotltish university. The amount of lefty cunts must be astronomical
Owen Wright
You made a good point, that peoples' political opinions are increasingly determined not from a rational, moral standpoint, but from one of social acceptance. It's frightening, how critical thinking skills are practically a lost art with today's youth.
Leftist politics these days resemble religious belief; the zealotry and anger of the left, when confronted by facts which contradict their beliefs, only confirms how truly cultish it has become.
Leo Turner
Low is the correct one right? We tended to preserve the primitive accent, state side before TV wiped a lot of it out.
Brayden Russell
lol I know man I pointed that out because you asked if the accent was noticeable. I've only noticed Scottish people doing that
Caleb Jones
I actually studied in England. But it's not much better there, either.
The reason Scotland is so left-wing is mainly due to its demographics. It's still 98% White so everyone cucks hard and virtue-signals whenever an English person complains about migration.
Robert Scott
bumping for nige desu
Easton Watson
I think your call was fine. I have one critique for the right in general.
I think the big thing is that we need to stop using liberal morality. DR3 is shorthand for Dems are Real Racists, it means that our policies achieve liberal goals better than liberals. So in essense don't argue that AA is bad for Blacks by promoting them above their skill level, but bad for institutions that have to give up their meritocracy.
Lol, quite funny but stuff like that is pretty rare. I don't know whether that area has a higher proportion of ethnic minorities; that might have something to do with it.
Scotland is a weird country politically in that most of the population still has quite a rough nature (think old school male laborer's) but they are also quite lax on immigration and will generally treat non-Whites well provided they act like normal Scots.
The situation is tolerable whilst the White population is 95%+. When this changes, you will see more support for anti-immigration parties.
Jeremiah Thomas
I thought you meant high or low land accent but I wasn't sure. Is it possible to have a high class lowland accent?
Parker Edwards
What the fuck. Even the most backwoods rednecks here in America enunciate their words better.
Joshua Parker
No. Truthfully it sounds like you've been living down in this neck of the woods for the past couple of years. Glasgow? t. London (posh)
Gabriel Green
Mate you're fine >T. a Londoner
Robert Barnes
By "lowland", which region of Scotland are you referring to?
Highlands = Up North. The higher North you go, the more pronounced the Scottish accent becomes. The Highlands are predominately middle and upper-class.
Nicholas Hughes
So you're saying that it's possible to have a high class accent that sounds more intrinsically Scottish? Interesting. I would have thought it worked in favor of more mild accents.
Ayden Edwards
I'm from Lanark. It's inbetween Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Yeah, I've been studying at UCL for the past 3 years. I come back and forth for the holidays.
What makes you say that?
Thanks, bud.
Joseph Nguyen
you sound calm and intellectual i would have heard you >"Scottish intellectuals"
Owen Allen
Yes, it's complicated. Mainly a matter of class and location.
This short video explains it quite well. She touches on class around 1:40.
>What makes you say that? Your accent. It softens over time.. Met quite a few Scots down here and have family up there, so have a good point of reference
Luke Thomas
Neat thanks
Caleb Young
>s-senpai noticed me
Congrats user.
Xavier Wright
Did my point on the Left's tendency to equate morality with having the right opinions and opposed to behaving a moral manner make sense to you?
Carson Cooper
*as opposed
Jace Peterson
To them it's one in the same. My sister is a lefty and has a really nice coworker. My sister is conflicted because her nice coworker has the wrong opinions on race and Islam.
Yes, I have only ever noticed this sort of behavior among Leftists.
I would never consider cutting someone out of my life solely due to the fact they have far-Left views. The same can't be said for Lefties.
Jack Morgan
We used to unironically listen to this sort of shit on our phones when we were 12-13.
How did you even come across it, lmao?
Asher Diaz
They can't deal with reality. People who disagree with them can't just arrive at a different conclusion or be wrong. They have to be morally deficient. It kind of makes sense considering how virtue signalling works. If I am a good person because I disavow all the right things someone who doesn't is clearly depraved.
It was the guy who spoke after me, I think. Or maybe the second guy after me.
Alexander Clark
You did great man. Very articulate and brought up a good point about left wing extremist ideas being allowed but right wing extremist ideas being banned or shunned.
Nolan Miller
You are from the west end of Glasgow.
Jacob Carter
>Did you refrain from telling people your opinion >SPAGETTI ENSUES >Do I sound like a try-hard autist or do I sound normal? You were fine until this point, what the fuck dude.
Thomas Rogers
COOL STUFF, DONT BE TOO WORRIED HOW U SOUND, JUST KNOW WHAT UR SAYING BRO -- U KILLED IT
NIGEY COOL AF AS ALWAYS
Carter Flores
I'm from Lanark. In the central belt between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Do you have Scottish roots?
Jonathan Ramirez
Youre not an autist in the call but you are in this thread.
Gabriel Foster
Spaghetti status: [_] Dropped [X] Not dropped
You were alright in the call but this thread makes me thing you are autistic after all.
Alexander Thomas
Lol, I thought the same. I thought my points after he asked that question were fine but I wasn't as articulate as I could have been. It was a bit disjointed.
Ethan Thompson
Turn on captions, it auto-detects as Dutch. Fucking Kek
Luke Sanders
I'm not a legitmate autist but I'm not a normie, either. I have to put in a bit of conscious effort to get along with normies... but I can do it quite easily.
I don't think any regulars on this board are completely neurotypical.
Gabriel Diaz
^ See above.
Logan Garcia
Can you understand any of it?
Nicholas Rivera
M8....
Asher Fisher
I've had a few scottish roots in my travels.
Nicholas Hall
Different burger. About 70% is understandable, but I can't make out the rest. A lot about stabbing and it's consequences.
Sebastian Lewis
Only about 50%, but enough to understand that this little twink thinks he is/was a tough gangster.
Elijah Ward
what about the retarded Australian that asked him about KEEK (Kek)
Adam Martin
He sounds like a polite and sensible speaking lad compared to the likes of govan, clydebank, and inverclyde accents.
Charles Evans
Are you Scottish? That's pretty strange. I'm from Edinburgh and you sounded like you were from England to me, you even sounded a little like Farage at some points.
Carter Martinez
take your fucking meds macspazatron
Dominic Lewis
You were great, man. Totally coherent and normal sounding. Nige liked you.
Chase Anderson
Just released I was listening to the wrong guy. I started watching the video from when you had linked it to start, sorry mate. Your voice is fine but I can't really be the judge of that sort of thing.
Nathaniel Perez
"Glasgow has got a lot of NEDS (basically yobs). A lot of different cultures and all that. Different places where people come from and they all try to fight with one another and all that. A lot of different fights, a lot of different places. I was in a gang for about a year or two years. I used to get in a lot of fights when I was jumping about like that. Two guys walked up to my pal and called him a "Black bastard" and then about twelve boys came around the corner and started battering (beating-up) him. People in Glasgow carry kitchen knives, meat cleavers and different weapons. One of my pals was fighting at McDonalds at Four Corners (a place). Two hours after my pal battered the guy, he came around with two motors (cars) and we got chased with a shot-gun. One of my pals actually got caught by one of the guys who was like, "where is your pal?", and he had a gun to his head. Most of the time it is about respect. If you stab somebody, you are trying to prove a point; that you are hard, that you are a big-man and all that. The guy pulled a (something) out on my pal, my pal cracked him once, the guy hit the floor and then he caught him so my pal battered him. Sometimes with gangs and all that, they pick on the weakest person to try and get them tougher: "We are going to make you harder. We are going to get you to fight with us." And then that's when they try to bully you and all that. Sometimes that's what would happen to me. I don't think some people realize that if they stab somebody and get them in the wrong place, it can kill somebody and they can go to jail. They can go to jail for the rest of their lives. It could end up coming back to them; they could get stabbed or something. One of my pals got caught off them and they kicked him right in the face. It was actually quite funny. As long as I live my life to the best then that is all I care about."
They are the niggers of Scotland.
Aaron Baker
My ID is in all caps, is this Kek's doing?
James Howard
dont worry, since brexit he has become incapable of feeling any emotion except happiness
Anthony Wilson
Thanks, man.
Nige is a good guy. It's a shame he is portrayed as a demon by the media. He actually has quite moderate views on race/religion/sexuality etc.
I sometimes wonder whether he is actually more extreme but has just learned to moderate in order to appeal to the masses.
I should have asked him what advice he would give to a political radical looking to influence the culture. Maybe I will call back later in the week to ask.
Asher Myers
That's not a compliment.
Angel Phillips
Yes.
Kek commands.
Jacob Rodriguez
i understood all of it. thought you did well.
Aiden Scott
Yes, speak the name of someone and Kek shall claim them.
Gavin Watson
I understood some of it, but either he needed to anunciate more, or that microphone was shit. Then again, I'm half deaf, so I have to listen more than others do.
Grayson Cook
Cheers. I am better at writing than speaking. The latter needs a bit of practice. I mind join some sort of public speaking club to improve further.
Brody Roberts
you stumbled over yourself a bit much but it's only seasoned speakers that don't do that.
Angel Thompson
how popular is nigel's show compared to other political shows in the uk? is it like the ron paul report tier?
Hunter Hill
were you the ANIME TEE SHIRT guy?
Tyler Ward
No, I came on at 2:45:40.
I think that guy was also a Sup Forumsster, though.
Isaac Reed
valid question britbro but you sound 16 and 5'4, either get out of puberty immediately or get on the test
Jackson Perez
Nigel is a divisive figure like Trump. Some love him, some hate him.
His show is pretty popular as far as political radio broadcasts go.
It's never going to get as much of an audience as shows on TV like BBC Question Time (where audience members ask questions to politicians and they all debate). But Farage is on that a lot, too, so it doesn't really matter.
Gavin Morgan
Aw fuk, bye.
I am 19 and 6'2".
Why do you say that?
Sebastian Gomez
6'2 with that voice?
hmm i'll give you the benefit of the doubt this time but only because of that top notch fucking accent
Aiden Garcia
Based OP. Thought you sounded great.
Asher Wilson
You did good, dont' call in to troll. This man is battling it out for the UK he isn't Ghost. Call in be honest, maybe drop a good hearted meme.
