Wtf
people in brazil have literally said theyve been shocked in these
Is it true that Brazil not have enough balls to shoot self in head?
Not taking cold showers is for low-T faggots.
Post a pic of your actual shower heater w/ timestamp, not this bait.
I have too, but its better than "running out of hot water"
this, It`s even quite rare to get below 10C here so cold showers aren`t that hard.
whats the point? what benefit does it give? besides possible death from electric shock
Yes, I grew up in Argentina and still don't go near those things. Multiple points of failure that result in a very painful end. There really isn't any point to them.
what does it even do?
you only "run out" of hot water if you're taking a shower, running the clothes washer and the dishwasher at the same time. or taking a hour long shower (which is weird)
and then you only need to wait like 10 minutes for the water heater to fill back up
>brazilian engineering
heat some water pour it into a bucket and use that
you are taking a simple problem and turning it into a retarded solution which costs money and shocks you
How the fuck do you run out of hot water? Any modern water heater is good for at least an hour long shower before it runs out of hot water.
it's an exposed heating element that heats water as it flows. It isn't electrically isolated from flowing water, and relies on an exposed bit of copper ground to not electrocute you. If this copper calcifies, you become ground.
What the hell is an electric shower?
As I understand it these things don't even heat up the water to a very high temperature.
So why not just take hobo showers?
It takes like 8 minutes to heat a huge pot of water up to toasty steamy hot.
Then you take that into the shower with a small dipping bucket, and voila.
And you save SO MUCH WATER.
Jesus Christ, they actually allow shit like that in houses in Brazil? Are there no building codes or something? What the fuck is going on down there?
They have these all over Europe too.
It's hilarious how primitive they are and they still think they're people.
Cold showers constrict your pores, I'd advise against it. The only thing you should wash absolutely cold is your hair
nah we are not poorfags and can actually afford to purchase a specific device that heats many liters of water for us to use at any time
dumbshit, we use thermal couples that are hidden inside the house and not out in the open.
>first worlders are too much of a pussy to use electric showers?
Many of us use electric showers. But they look like pic related. Not nigger-rigged death-traps
Euros could say the same about our standards
(twist caps, lack of GFI's, individually fused appliances, etc.)
here's someone taking one apart, they're relatively simple.

at around 3:50 is the wire that keeps you from dying.
>It takes like 8 minutes to heat a huge pot of water up to toasty steamy hot.
>Then you take that into the shower with a small dipping bucket, and voila.
This.
Risk your life vs boil some water and have a leaky bag. Hell there are even proper water holding vinyl bags you hang up with on off pulls for the water flow designed for the outdoors.
This is the same befuddling issues that plague me when I see people in the third world trying to light fires inefficiently when we've got the technology to make wood gas stoves literally out of scrap.
Or make proper toilets and sewage lines using literally thousand year old concepts. Or just a proper outdoor toilet that separates piss from future mulch crap. The technology is literally just a plastic divider and a tube. A thousand times more sanitary in one instant.
Every time they pop up to talk about the problems we should give money to elsewhere I stop and ponder why we're not using these dirt cheap simple solutions to fix shit right now.
Everyone uses these here, and I mean everyone, they're safe and cheap.
Eastern europe maybe. I didn't even know these things existed.
getting a proper water boiler costs more in the short term, also takes up more space that may not be available in a favela (or the standard narrow brithouse )
Now if they had these in Auschwitz I'd believe in the holocaust
>using a keyboard rather than a series of rusty yet sharp knives arranged in a helix pattern, each labelled with the character they represent and a completely random ASCII character
fucking pussy bitch come over here right now and i'll beat you to death with my pointy-tetanus-type-spiral
Rio athletes were complaining about these having wires wrapped around the pipe and whatnot
>get electrocuted just for a 10C temperature increase when it's a hot and humid environment that doesn't require hot showers anyway
JUST
Oy vey. My grandmother was shocked 8 times in da showers, you anti semite!
>many of us
>implying first world user
>UKistanian flag
Ahmed, accept that your queenfag shithole is now as nigger tier as Brasil, you're not first world any longer
I sometimes wonder what the rest of the world is doing.
>running out of hot water
We generate hot water fast enough to not run out.
That thing is a deathtrap. Something like that would never pass inspection in the US.
Pic related, a normal first world water heater.
underrated
It depends on the wattage. Some them can be run on 240V and be 5+kW. The best installations I ever saw had a breaker just for the showerhead, as well as an RCD through the ground wire.
hell no, most places I've seen have a hilarious disregard for the third wire. It's third world electricians man, every damn time.
Your country needs right-wing safety squads
If a building inspector saw something like this in the US your house would probably get declared unlivable. I can't believe foreigners live like this.
How do Brazilians heat their bidet water?
kek
I mean really?
liveleak.com
They have stainless steel asses.
>washing
real men don't care about their smell
Fucking kek.
What are continuous flow hot water heaters..
Italians after Rome were never known for their hygiene
...
>AFTER Rome
you don't know much about roman history, do you?
>hell no, most places I've seen have a hilarious disregard for the third wire.
After the wiring is done, people just install them themselves, which is why it looks like a mess most of the time.
They're pretty safe, the most you'll get in a bad installation is you get zapped a bit when turning it on or off, I've never seen a house here without one, from the wealthy to the poor.
>regulations
You guys are pussies
I can barely even fathom the cost of that, besides the space. One of these can go for around $10 for the cheapest ones.
At least they weren't known for shitting in their kitchens, either.
I've never known about these things before this thread.
Doesn't sound very safe
>If a building inspector saw something like this in the US your house would probably get declared unlivable. I can't believe foreigners live like this.
>a building inspector
What the hell is this commie talking about?
Get a tankless water heater, you poorfag
This thread is not related to Sup Forums
get fucked and take it someplace else.
What did you expect the bathrooms to look like in these houses anyway?
A good 50 Gallon water heater is only like $1,000 though. It can heat enough water for a full house of people and you would almost never run out. Nearly every home in the US has one, rich or poor.
In 2016 I moved to an old house, separated into three to create 3 departments.
>mfw I saw this shit
Water+Energy= NOPE
I had 3 months of summer to avoid using it, finally I gave up and now is some rutine thing, still it gaves me the creeps.
call me crazy, but I dont want to get electrocuted while Im in the shower
Nice scorch marks there user.
17th edition approves !
The old renter used it for 2 years with no problems, I has the whole electrical installation put new, just in case.
Do people unironically use these anyway ? a cheap water heater cost like 300 dollars anyway.
>"showering" like a horse
I suppose that fits
That shit can shock you, but when I was shocked it was just a minor sting (when touching a wall, solution, dont touch the wall), I hear you can burn if an earthquake catches you showering, but so far I dont know of anyone dying while showering under those
Life so shit there they hope to be put out of their misery one lovely evening/morning.
well,, next morning I have to appreciate it more when I take s long, hot and safe shower
>taking hot water between 20-30 °C
Holy shit this makes me so mad. Literally no reason to bath on hot water on anything other below 0 °C. What a kind of pussy don't like cold water? Besides, just a couple of states here get >10 °C anyways. I hate every sone person that uses this kind of shit.
>Can barely fathom the cost
Over here paid for by the municipality as a primary living requirement
i do that too, i sleep in the tub waiting to die, it never happen.
>I can barely even fathom the cost of that, besides the space.
I have an 80l water heater and it's hung above the bath tub.
Doesn't take any additional space and one costs less than 100 bucks.
>pic related
The line is for a sliding shower curtain because I was too lazy to shop around for the correct metal bar thingy.
Por lo menos tenes el breaker. Busca a ver si encontras algo parecido a un rcd/gfi.
Those are from the pipework. People use oiled rags/newspaper to heat fit the pvc.
They're actually much more efficient than standard water heaters, and they only cost like $20 at most. it can be done safely, it's just one of those things where there are multiple points of failure. it is often that you find these that will give a light tingle when you adjust the heat, or try to vary the water flow.
Are those burn marks or black mold?
>I can barely even fathom the cost of that, besides the space
kek, must be awful living in your shitty favela
I like the idea of on demand hot water but why would put the heater right at the spot where the water comes out? Like, why not mount it to a wall away from the shower and run a pipe to the shower head?
Wow.
You know you're a third world shithole when you haven't even heard of tankless water heaters.
Do you mean
>$1000
>literally R$3200 for a water heater
Nope
My old house had a hot water heater that heated while you use it.
Never ran out.
And never shocked you.
>Literally Had to build a cart system above the favela so the wealthy could travel
HAH
Yeah. Thanks.
You should use the 220v 40amp electric shower head, everyday.
I've actually used on of these when I was in Peru. I had to kinda half-squat under it because they are made for 5 foot manlets and the way they're contructed doesn't allow you to move it up or down
When you flip the temperature switch when the water is running sparks fly and the lights flickered.
On the plus side they come with a side-hose you can use to blast the turd-nuggets from your ass-fur. But then again, you could also use a regular distending showerhead for that.
It also had a seperate tube
It's a 10years investment and you have hot water in the whole home instead of only out of your showerhead
It's only when turning the water on or off in a bad installations, happened to me when I was a kid.
>3rd world showers
Isn't that where you sit under a hot stream of cow piss, Brazil?
Fucking hell those arching marks on the wall.
I've experienced a full blown 230V live-neutral arch up close once and I never wanna see one ever again.
>be me
>in Bosnia
>about to take a shower, naked
>decide to unplug the heater just in case (yes, it just had a plug on it)
>I haven't even touched the fucking plug when it starts arching over and making a tremendous amount of smoke, the plug is on fire
>wtfdoido
>acquire wooden stick thingy from the sink
>beat the wire until it breaks and stops arching
>put clothes back on and leave
>breathe again
>wait half an hour for the smoke to clear
>take shower
Ugh, this is so bad. Not even properly isolated. Pictures like that is what makes people scared of it.
Out of focus mi negro!
No sé nada de electricidad amigo, ademas de eso sólo tengo las llaves de toda la casa y una para una instalación antigua de Aire Acondicionado Split.
Those are burn marks, the old owner don't know where did that happen.
>yfw gringos can't use the most efficient heater available because of fear
please stay safe senpai
You monkeys cant even flust toilet paper down the toilet.
no. you guys are too pussy to take a cols shower so much so that youd rather die. what the hell is wrong with you monkeys?
I think every TÜV inspector here would immediately faint, if you would show him a device like that. No way something like this would ever be allowed, if you put a similar shower into a hotel bathroom you could likely face serious criminal charges.
Actually we can, but this generate further problems.
>When you flip the temperature switch when the water is running sparks fly and the lights flickered.
Becaue of the way they're built (as cheap as possible) the switch is not intended to be operated while the water is flowing.
You're supposed to turn it off, flick the switch and turn it back on again.
Add to that importation fees, since I highly doub't you'll any locally manufactured ones.
>side-hose
That's actually a pressure relief, so the thing doesn't blow up if the showerhead gets clogged/insufficient water flow.
Por lo menos revisa que el cable verde no solo este sujeto por tape y torsion. Usualmente soldadura es requerida.
>outafocus
That wasn't the picture I wanted, but here's the right onew.
>safe and cheap.
on the one you posted it doesnt even have a ground wire. the hot and neutral lines are held together with what I can only assume is packing tape. If you leave this piece of shit on and there is no water inside it to cool the heating element, it will melt/catch fire. (there is no thermal protection in the models I have seen apart, only a shitty plastic mechanical float switch thing)
The insides of these look like they were assembled by a child a gunpoint. I thought you idiots only use these to kill some of the waterborne pathogens in your water before burning your fucking house down / being electrocuted when your foot touches the drain
Plus that thing looks like shit. Whoever plumbed it/wired it gave absolutely ZERO fucks. Look at the fucking mold in the wall/ceiling. If you were to slip and grab that thing for stability, the plastic tube would shatter, you would fall, and get the absolute shit shocked out of you after the taped together wires come undone. Not to mention the lack of a ground wire being hooked connected. This shower head allready takes every unsafe shortcut imaginable and then the end user takes one more.
I dont think your country is ever going to make it to space Bernardo.
actually if youre really prone to acne cold showers help a hell of a lot for that reason
