Was the Nazi police state bad?

Considering there was 0% unemployment, prosperity, and what seemed like an uplifting national spirit of hope and pride - having a police state doesn't seem like that much of a cost for peace and prosperity.

Was the Nazi police state really bad? I know Hitler burnt pornography and Communist books (which I think is a great thing) - but did they do anything worse in terms of freedom? Did people have freedom of speech?

Because other than that, pre-war Nazi Germany seemed like it would have been a great time to live in

Freedom + Kikes = Death

It wasnt bad, it was almost a Utopia

Jews and liberals will get immediately offended if you mention it though. The majority of people are stupid, thats why voting doesnt work and a Fascist Leader is needed. Hitler was probably the greatest leader the world has ever seen

The biggest crime the nazis did was that they didnt dance when banks told them to

People act like this was the only nation to ever persecute the jews. Throughout history they've been exiled from nearly everywhere for their crimes usually related to money/banking/fraud. I guess that would make me an anti-semite though just stating facts like that and such meh.

The police state thing is a myth. The nazis only cracked down on sexual degeneracy, jews, communists.

Everything else, including other political views were tolerated. In fact there were many won cases of people who were anti national socialist winning vandalism cases when their neighbors or others vandalized their homes.

The national socialists were not intolerant of views against their own, they were intolerant of jewish attempts of subversion.

Thanks bretherinos. Once I realised the holocaust didn't happen, it made me begin to think Hitler wasn't bad. I wasn't sure if he was good though.

But considering he took such good care of his people, and that the supposed bad things like a police state were exaggerated and misrepresented - i'm starting to think not only did Hitler do nothing wrong, but in fact was one of the greatest heros of Western civilisation

Was there anything Hitler did do that was bad though? Genuinely unjust? Or was all the bad things he ever did for a just cause ? (e.g. obviously labour camps are bad in of themselves, but considering he was fighting a war for freedom and truth it was a necessarily evil, so not an intrinsic bad i mean - ie. that doesnt count)

>i'm starting to think not only did Hitler do nothing wrong, but in fact was one of the greatest heros of Western civilisation
Don't overdo it. He was a good man, but if he were truly great he wouldn't have lost the war.

>Was there anything Hitler did do that was bad though?
In terms of policy, not much. The Jews and commies deserved all the got. If anything, he was too lenient.

His major mistakes concerned foreign policy. He got nothing out of his pacts with Italy and Japan, and invaded Poland. The Jews were agitating for war, and Hitler's invasion of Poland provided them with a casus belli. His declaration of war on the US was stupid too.

also what made Hitler's economic plan so successful? Because by seeing what he did, something that no other country has seemed to have managed - he must have done something right

Or was it simply because he got the Jews off Germany's back and through its economic and media control - thing were allowed to Naturally become good again?

this.

Would you say then his biggest weakness as a leader was foreign policy and war? Say if he succeeded, would he be one of the best?

>what made Hitler's economic plan so successful?
Getting rid of the Jews, banning usury, making sure money was backed by labour.

>his biggest weakness as a leader was foreign policy and war?
Probably, though he didn't appoint the right people to the right positions either. Ribbentrop was an awful foreign minister, and Rosenberg and Feder didn't get the positions they deserved.

>if he succeeded, would he be one of the best?
In the modern age, certainly. But we mustn't forget the leaders of the distant past who did more (though they could get away with more).

Interesting, I'll give that a read.

Thanks for your insight. What are your thoughts about Nazism in general as an ideology? Do you think it is a feasible system for today's world? Or was it catered to the specific needs of Germany at the time? If so, what parts are adaptable and can we learn from? Sorry for all the questions, just really interested and hard to find people with good insight on the topic

>?nationalizing banks
>feeding the people
>higher wages
>more power to the people
>a thing of the past

also do you think if Hitler allied with Britain; how different would the world be? Would it have changed the outcome?

National Socialist and Third German Reich, not 'Nazi'.

>What are your thoughts about Nazism in general as an ideology?
I don't actually consider myself to be NatSoc, since I see it as a foreign ideology that wouldn't work here in Britain, though I do take many ideas from it. It's a great ideology, but always remember that it was intended for post-WW1 Germany, not modern day Australia (in your case). So don't copy it exactly, but on the whole, it's good.

>Do you think it is a feasible system for today's world?
Again, it depends on which country you're in. It can certainly be tried, but you must seek to do this electorally, not by marching on the streets. I can't say what the future will look like though.

>Or was it catered to the specific needs of Germany at the time? If so, what parts are adaptable and can we learn from?
It was, which is my point, but as I've said there's still many admirable ideas to take out of it. For example, for the economics, read Feder, since it's different to Hitler's economics (which worked, but the long-term effects are unknown). Anti-Semitism is not explicitly NatSoc so any means of limiting Jewish influence can come under this banner. It's largely down to you really. Read NSDAP material and see what applies to the modern day.

>Sorry for all the questions, just really interested and hard to find people with good insight on the topic
That's alright, lad.

Pre-war German Reich was also much more tolerant then Jew media, and fake history is showing.

Father of Martin Luther King was there in 1935 and had only positive things to say.

It certainly would've been different. Entirely impossible, but different. A British Empire would be allied with a Germany dominant on the continent. Both would've fought the USSR in what would've been WW2. They would've won, I think, but after that you'd get a Cold War with Britain and America facing down Germany. Maybe, anyway, I don't know, I'm just hypothesising.

>mfw watching the man in the high castle season 2 and they show the american reich
>it's utter lefty propaganda but it's still preferable to the fucking zoo we live in here
I literally cried a couple tears because we'll never have homogeneous societies again

Thanks mate

>holocaust didnt happen

youre a faggot and a disgrace to the white race

Hitler set his own movement back 100 years

You're welcome lad.

>0% unemployment

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Well my family were doing pretty good at that time.
Imported civillian vehicles from the US for own personal use.
Big houses
Had 1 grandparent in the SS and the other one in the Wehrmacht so i guess they were doing pretty good and were happy

It's a shame how bad the SS were treated after the war. Did they execute your grandpa?

czech germans were genocide'd

desu pre-war natsoc germany was the best country ever, but the war happened :(

The SS was the worst part of the Nazi regime. It went from police being localized to a centralized corrupt force that headed the "final solution". Letting a man child with issues heading the SS was a bigger mistake as well. Hitler should have disbanded the SA and SS right away and focused on getting smart generals and mass producing efficient tech for the Wehrmacht.

meant for

He was fine after the war he was in the bundeswehr a long time no idea what rank he had but he apparently was in it a long time. I got most of his stuff though instead other relatives old vinyl music and some postcards and his air rifle he used to hunt birds with
