the main problem is not the hitting itself, but the lack of logic when doing it, people just get their anger out without usefully conveying a message.

Hitting, or correction shouldnt be done in anger, or because you were played by your kid. If your kid is outsmarting you, you need to take a look back at yourself and realize you are doing something wrong in your life.
