The specific bit about Transgenders being able to change their birth certificate. I never read/heard/watched anything about that pre-referendum. It was like a meaningless addendum. Whereas, it's one of the most cultural Marxist policies in the world today.
Irish people struck me as desperately wanting to be something else. As if their Nationalism, and Catholicism had been their whole persona, and if they could just make a bit more more money they'd be more "successful" and less "Irish". Sorry if my English isn't descriptive enough here, as I don't mean it as an insult. It's just it seemed that to be non-Irish was to seen as being "modern", internationalist, and "progressive".
I'm a huge admirer of the country, and the people. But this importation of American identity politics in an attempt to seem modern has ruined your country. You need a new conservatism separate from the Church, as it's going no where, and separate from SF, as they are part of the problem.
