And remember that the OP can't bump his own thread.

Important note: Thomas Aquinas copied plato and still can't deal with a cyclical universe.

All of these are arguments based on the fact that you don't know and you use your lack of knowledge to believe that you do know.

Imperial Leather

Also you're all going to hell, idol-worshipping taig scum

May God bless you, OP, and us all. May He reveal a new truth to us and remove the veil of the current false-Pope.

Reminder that the church is - NOT - necessary for salvation and that the Pope is - NOT - infallible

Thomas Aquinas was part of the Scholastic tradition, which extends from the Greeks, but was a staunch Aristotelian.

>and still can't deal with a cyclical universe.

I don't find it relevant at all to Aquinas' works. You're going to have to explain yourself because it looks to me like you're arguing against a strawman of his point.

>the last line

Fundamentally untrue. Simply nothing of it correlates to what you're saying. You're bullshitting.

Catholicism is bullshit and the papacy has no basis in Scripture, Sola scriptura faggots, I'm basing my faith on the WORD OF GOD, not on the words of your cuck-pope.

Gott mit uns.

...

...

She knows.

>Sola scriptura faggots

Take your man-made anti-biblical dogmas and shove them up your ass.

is over there, retard.

Reminder that God punishes those who lead His flock astray. Repent from your wickedness and confess your sins to a priest.

>worshiping / praying to anything besides Jesus or god.

heresy.

catholicism is satan worship

There is no catholic who has read the bible and remained a catholic.

>Reminder that God punishes those who lead His flock astray
Like the current Pope?

Tyler Preston made a video attacking papists. I took the liberty of laying him out:

any of yous lads taken a pilgrimage?

>There is no catholic who has read the bible and remained a catholic.

>We wrote it.

>I don't find it relevant at all to Aquinas' works. You're going to have to explain yourself
Aren't you familiar with Aquinas' First Way? Where he verbatim uses Plato's Prime Mover argument to extrapolate pluripotentiality and absoluteness of cause.

It's an argument in ignorance of time's potential loop taken without understanding of relativistic spacetime and closed timelike curves.

He argues that the divine must exist because he believe there must be one first cause, straight from Plato, but he cannot know so defaults to belief. Yet such belief cannot be anything but at odds with the truth for it denies any other possibility, though they be manifest.

fucking newniggers

Taig scum BTFO

noice

We get traditionalists Catholics all the time. Much of the serious Catholic fanbase is traditionalist.

Well the first part is wrong and the second part is part-wrong. The pope carries papal infallibility, but that doesn't mean he's wrong from time to time, yes?

I kid.

Glad we got our Prot shitposter early.
Wouldn't be a Catholic General without you.

Anglicans and other heretics have never cared about a Pope. Why the interest in this one?

It is derived essentially from the Platonist world view that declares there must be an absolute exemplar of each object. Aristotle merely takes that state there must be a universal object.

This was in contrast to the truth of Heraclitus, who said that everything is in constant flux, and has no perfect image. Panta rhei.

Kek.

Well done, lads.

...

Thank you for that insight but no Catholic takes this seriously for a second. We know better than anybody else we're flawed hence we're all sinners.

youtube.com/watch?v=zcBdp_F8zG8&t=244s&list=PL5_JO52HSEhF5Rjtgz6TekyRZkbd6CIw4&index=9

Just because you say so.

The Papacy has remained unbroken since the founding of His Church on Earth. Something your 500 year 'church' based on Luther's blasphemy can never claim.

How do you lads rationalise your worship of the coat of arms of a man who actively fought to repel the British invasion of Ireland?

The Pope seems pretty broken right now

What happens to the arts that we've learned once we're in the afterlife, Sir Wolf? I'm a drawfag and want to create beautiful works that glorify Our Lord, and I read some random quote that those who practice music can bring their skill to Heaven. Any information in our tradition about this?

>upset about a classical expression of humility because its done to a person in a class of people you don't like

See you next time.

Communion of Saints? Ultimately all it is is asking them to pray for you. No need to act as if it is worship.

Every time.

>Plato's Prime Mover argument
>Plato's
user...

But to your point, all five of Aquinas' Five Ways are not his arguments and he doesn't claim anything but the form he expresses it in. What are his arguments is the work he does afterwords.

>It's an argument in ignorance of time's potential loop taken without understanding of relativistic spacetime and closed timelike curves.

Way to show you have absolutely no grasp of what Aristotle of Aquinas were saying. Time has little to nothing to do with this as sustaining causation is what Aristotle and Aquinas are speaking about rather than temporal causation.

>He argues that the divine must exist because he believe there must be one first cause, straight from Plato, but he cannot know so defaults to belief.

The argument he gives is a deductive proof, not some guess:

Aquinas' Five Ways are five deductive proofs and each are to get five different results from classical arguments. For example, the end result of the First Way is "pure actuality", from the potential/actual distinction in physics in his time. From all five of those results he examines attributes necessary of such traits and then, afterwords, defends rationally that all five results MUST necessarily be the same thing. Afterwords, the term "God" is applied as it's entirely synonymous with how God is understood theologically.

There's no defaulting to anything.

You're trying too hard pal. Honorable attempt, but of all things to criticize the man for, you're criticizing him for one (as you believe) bad argument and using that as an excuse to not believe one of his much better arguments.

Why not start a skeptic general sometime, so we can try and clog your threads too? /sg/, I like the sound of it.

...

>>essentially
Indeed. It cannot exist without Plato's theories of divinity. But if you like, replace Plato with Aristotle in . It makes little difference, the argument still stands.

To wit: The classical theological foundation of a prime mover is both pagan, and has no ken to modern scientific theory.

It is simply an argument based upon ignorance of causality.

Okay, and?

Good job believing media spin.

Pope Francis called "the media" shit-loving shit-eaters. They got pissed and claimed he said "fake news," of course.

>>upset about a classical expression of humility because its done to a person in a class of people you don't like

YTKD isnt an actual christian he just pretends to be one because he thinks that conservatives ought to be christian. he knows next to nothing about christianity and as a rabid anti-semite is not really cut out to be a christian. unfortunately this does not stop him from roleplaying on the internet

Aristotle mocked paganism all the time you idiot. He did it intelligently though so retards like you wouldn't notice.

And take your (((modern scientific theory))) and shove it up your retarded ass.

>and as a rabid anti-semite is not really cut out to be a christian
Classic fucking Catholic response

Happiness.

there is absolutely no difference other than the fact that you are a vain person and the latter example offends your pathetic human pride

So does anyone have any idea of whats going on in the Vatican? Any hope of a based pope in the future?
Also how do you all feel about G.K. Chesterton?

>are five deductive proofs
Yet based upon deductive reasoning, the placement of a single immutable cause cannot withstand the equally valid contention of a cyclical causal cycle in the 'big crunch'.

His his no more a 'proof' than "if I ignore the black in it, it is white".

>Why not start a skeptic general sometime
But I am discussing catholic theology. Though I do know you don't like people asking questions about it. Nor having criticisms...

Reminder that the Conservative Party is the greatest opponent to conservatism in the UK.

Nice flag.

Cool.

Next pope is guaranteed to be Polish. Francis is an experiment. He's not helping the image of the church and he's losing members all over the show because of his leniency.

You cannot pick and choose which Pope you like and dislike.
