Why is a home something you pay taxes on forever? When I buy a car, I pay taxes one time (when I purchase it). When I buy clothes, I pay taxes one time.
I already pay 30% to 50% of my income in taxes. They can't take it out of that? If you want to include sales taxes, gasoline taxes, property taxes (from my rent), SUTA, FUTA (employer's side too), and any other regulatory shit that increases my COL, it's more like 50%, maybe more.
Why must I pay extra taxes on top of that to service shitty public schools when I have no kids, roads full of potholes and congested with traffic, and a police and fire department that is on the verge of bankruptcy (thanks to their lucrative pension scheme among other shit). This is common in many major cities.
And all these "services" I pay for never try to save any money because if they spend under budget one year, their budget gets cut for next year. All types of crony bullshit goes on with how they spend their money (textbooks, supplies, etc.), and who gets to be their vendors.
I have no control over this shit, but I have to keep paying higher rent (which includes property taxes). If I had a home, I'd have to pay higher taxes every year.
>When I buy a car, I pay taxes one time (when I purchase it). >pay to register it every year user, they will get you at every corner. No place is safe. Plus now the left is making paying taxes an altruistic virtue
Matthew Sanders
Oh, right. I forgot about that. Another bullshit tax. Still anything else like a new computer isn't taxed.
Lucas Phillips
that's why you need two, not one, properties, so you rent the second one
Kevin Clark
Not everyone wants to do that. Really a pain in the ass if you ask me.
Kayden Edwards
Honestly, it makes it easier for Indians and Pakis to come here and live since they'll move their parents, kids, and siblings' families all into one house. Makes it more cost effective. Anyone else is fucked.
James Edwards
because the land isn't yours, it's the state's and land is the easiest thing to tax.
Jordan Moore
Only Niggers are dumb enough to pay property taxes.
Michael Harris
Because it's your country's land
Josiah Allen
Unless you are a church.
Zachary Peterson
Because in Amerika you don't own property. You rent it.
>mfw my property taxes are still $600 / month even though I have mortgage paid off
I will never get off this fucking hamster wheel.
Liam Myers
Property tax is the most efficient form of taxation Cant be doged and couldd ideally just be used for local services
Landon Baker
living a good life isn't easy. you make money by doing things that other people find too difficult.
Owen Lewis
I was thinking about taxes in the USA the other day and it sort of boggled my mind to realize that our government literally takes in trillions of dollars each year but we have shitty schools, shitty roads, shitty everything.
What the fuck are they doing with all of our money Sup Forums?
Cooper Brown
Sending it to Israel.
Henry Sanchez
>Still anything else like a new computer isn't taxed. >internet >electricity >need to upgrade every few years to continue to run latest software
The kikes have you there too.
Carson Robinson
Building things that blow up, and blowing up things we built.
And Old Fuckkers are expensive as well. Medicare, Social Security, and Defense account for 2/3 of the federal budget.
Michael Thompson
Defense is like 12% of the budget
Evan Lewis
>Why is a home something you pay taxes on forever?
L'éternel kike system, mon gros Bubba...
Nolan Allen
Social welfare programs are socialist, so we'll just give subsidies to massive companies. That's the free market, right? Caring for the job creators is the surest way to grow the economy and make sure the pie grows and we get less and less.
Ian Collins
>>>/reason.com/ gbt your simplistic sociopathic hugbox, idiot the rest of us want a workable society
Logan Edwards
Also, Americans are cucks.
Carter Adams
Enjoy sucking Jew dick while they automate your job =-)
Lucas Ortiz
32% if you include discretionary and non-discretionary (VA welfare shit).
Caleb Jenkins
fuck social security and fuck old people
William Mitchell
Don't forget that bridges across the country haven't been maintained for the last decade because of embezzled toll fees. But we need to cut planned parenthood and foodstamps right guys?
Easton Fisher
In Utah you pay taxes on it every time you register it so it's legal to drive on the roads...once a year.
T. Salt Lake City fag
Joshua Powell
Yes.
Dylan Lee
Damn right we do. Roads are socialist. Infrastructure is socialist. We need to privatize the roads and bridges. I mean, yeah, there are a lot of places where roads won't be built because it's not profitable but that's freedom and liberty, the American way.
>laughingAdamSmith.jpg
Jaxon Rodriguez
Because
Joshua Rivera
Gotta make sure the money is going to the "right" people, wew lad
Jayden Jones
We also need to spend a lot more on healthcare for average to below average outcomes. The more money that we give to the wealthy the more they'll let trickle down. Maybe they'll let me lick their ass, too.
Hudson Lopez
T 18 year old kid
Andrew Fisher
How is taxation NOT theft?
Samuel Green
Or just make it so roads are 100% paid by gas taxes The more you use them the more you pay
James Murphy
>When I buy a car, I pay taxes one time Registration, emissions, tolls, gas tax (x cents/gallon), parking, tickets? You pay for taxes for ever on your car too
Josiah Williams
Make sense.
Isaiah Cruz
What?! The government can't do anything right, the private sector does everything better than the government. Now, if we could allow corporations to tax us, that would be ideal!
Bentley Gutierrez
Why the fuck isn't anyone mentioning car tags? They're absolutely a tax They depend on location and car type
Austin Perry
But user, taxes are for overseas accounts, not investing back into the country. The American people are just a meme
Nathaniel Fisher
>make money, get taxed >spend money, get taxed >buy property, get taxed
>land of the free
Brayden Ramirez
They are. See: I forgot about that. Since property taxes are so huge in comparison, I overlooked it in my OP. But still sucks having to pay $100 a year.
Christopher Ward
What happens if I don't pay my taxes?
Jace Nelson
Your always going to get taxed thats why it should be as local as possible so you can live in a high service hight tax area or a low service low tax area Property taxes are best for this
Sebastian Allen
Taxes are for poor people. Think of it as a way to fund their jobs. The upper class gets all sorts of fun tax loopholes, because they give the lower class jobs. If they didn't the lower class would starve. So why should the wealthy pay taxes at all?
Gavin Johnson
What can I do to educate myself on this kind of stuff? That hopefully doesn't involve watching Youtube videos
Face it OP, we're not land owners, we're tenants on government land.
Kevin Russell
Ancap degenerate detected. You can write off interest on your taxes relax
Nathaniel Perez
>tfw cant live on antarctic land free of the tax jew
Jeremiah Gray
I wasn't talking to you
Nathaniel Mitchell
You can write it off. You still have to pay it. The most you can save from mortgage interest and property taxes on your 1040 is ~25%. So if you pay $10,000 in interest and property taxes, your net out of pocket is still $7,500. Or 9 months rent in a very nice place in most cities.
Doesn't make sense. Even multimillionaires have to pay property taxes, and like pay a whole lot more if their home values are seven figures.
Samuel Phillips
Educate yourself on what?
Jackson Davis
My property tax is $1000 a month
James Martinez
People forget property taxes are progressive. It's ironic you see poor people complain about them when the alternative would be shit like sales taxes that would fuck over poor people disproportionately.
Isaac Phillips
Idk, whatever you said to me, about living in whatever areas and taxes and whatnot
Carter Gutierrez
I was reading some places have very low property taxes. That's still almost $100 a month though.
In Dallas, Houston, or Austin, a $300,000 home can have $6,000 or more of property taxes a year.
Liam Long
>Falling for the it's smart to buy a house meme.
Fuck I feel so bad for so many people on this board. Lol
Bentley Martin
If dobe right property and gas taxes dont have loopholes It is income and to a lesser extant sales taxes that do
Logan Gomez
Proptey tsx is the most efficient tax for funding local spending because you cant really dodge it
Nolan Parker
You can legally dodge it by living in a smaller house or illegally dodge it by getting low ball property appraisals
Aiden Cooper
You also pay taxes at the pump for gasoline. Very large taxes.
Kevin Rogers
That is like saying you cam dogde income and sales tax by not working or spending money Tax officals can look at comps in the area much harder to fudge than sales or income
Dylan Murphy
Computers are taxed, most thing over x amount of dollars are subject to a sales tax even when your state doesn't have a sales tax.
In many cases the computer used foreign parts at some point, additional tax for that. 1k dollar computer, 100 dollar tax.
Andrew Stewart
Kind of different because unlike not working to avoid income tax, living in a smaller home to avoid property tax means you have a bunch of untaxed money left over
Robert Howard
>government charges land tax >no water tax
Tyler Sanchez
But you are not taxed on money you are taxed on property
John Green
Sup Forums is a bad place for this. We all want the wife who raises kids in a suburban home while the father works and can support a family of 4 and you can have 2 cars and take the weekends off
But this is not possible nowadays
Jaxon Walker
Because you live in a modern civilization
Asher Watson
Yes it is Just dont waste money on useless crap
Jayden Peterson
But the point I'm making is, with income tax you have no mechanism for reducing your tax rate. With property tax, by living in a smaller home than what you can afford, you can reduce your effective tax rate.
Jordan Howard
Yes you do Working less
Jordan Powell
>Why is a home something you pay taxes on forever? Because you're a slave.
Thank this guy
Noah Martin
without money the government can't run roads.
Nathaniel King
that sailboat is like, 5 times more than than OP's pic house though. florida probably taxes living on a boat somehow :(
Liam Sanchez
>not buying a house
>paying someone else's rent forever instead
That's why I bought a condo. Extra comfy and I don't have to worry about nig-nogs because I'm surrounded by peaceful old people who are all armed to the teeth
Blake Rogers
You pay off your home
You still pay $1000mn + until you die and keeps going up
Land of free?
Logan Johnson
Nah
True. So many fell for the house/college/marriage/stem meme it's genuinely sad. They're trapped the rest of their life in a prison of their own design.
>t. self employed renter with girlfriend I can leave at any moment I want, tied down by absolutely nothing
Bentley Phillips
>willingly give the Federal Reserve total control over your country >complain about your lack of freedom
Adam Nguyen
I mean reducing your tax rate without reducing your wealth
Jordan Collins
Until chinks buy up all the land around you raising the value of the area, in turn raising your property taxes (at least here they are base on you're properties value)( why else do you thing the government is ok with the housing bubble? Property taxes increase with the value of you're house.
Jacob Nguyen
>Why is a home something you pay taxes on forever? Because liberals set the school system up that makes property taxes pay for the school in the area. >When I buy a car, I pay taxes one time No, you don't. Each year in Illinois for instance, you pay for License place sticker and a city sticker. These things aren't necessary, and are essentially a tax in disguise. >When I buy clothes, I pay taxes one time nigga what? Clothes don't give you inherent value, homes and cars do, especially since they affect your credit, not clothes.
Bentley Lee
Dude honestly my dad made somewhere between $200k and $300k for a family of 6 with a suburban house and it took him 10 years of traveling with the company he works for with no weekends and we still lived paycheck to paycheck. Maybe it's because of where we live and how they had to learn budgeting themselves due to bad parents but they're only now coming out of debt.
You can blame them for some of it but other parts are incredible taxes and regulations.
I don't see how unless you make zero mistakes.
Good job. I am either going to be an LEO or Electrician.
Jacob Ross
>$200k and $300k for a family of 6 with a suburban house and it took him 10 years of traveling with the company he works for with no weekends and we still lived paycheck to paycheck
Where the fuck did you live that you were living "paycheck-to-paycheck"? A top floor apartment in Manhattan or some shit?
Oliver Lopez
But you would be reducing your house size and tax burden Whats the difference
William Parker
Rich part of the greatest state.
Luke Gonzalez
Because you're a slave yo the government stupid goyim. You don't own the land you live on, Uncle Sam does and he wants compensation for you leasing it. You should enjoy it, it pays for police to lock up the local dindus who'd like to rob your house and rape your wife.
Mason Wright
that boat is 50 feet long a 30 foot boat that's suitable to live on is 50k or less
Kayden Sanders
>Somali pirates >Niggers will still find a way to nig
Grayson Sullivan
Which is why inner city school usually suck, because niggers don't own homes, they rent.
Brody Lopez
the government owns all land and allows you to use it
Robert Robinson
Gas is taxed Tires are taxed Registration is a tax
Robert Rodriguez
And that money was only in the later few years. We never discussed my fathers income but it was less than that because he was promoted later on.
And his job still included cross country travel.
Blake Myers
>What the fuck are they doing with all of our money Sup Forums?
Don't worry about it goy, your money is in good hands
Brandon Robinson
Because a smaller house leaves you with the same amount of wealth since you have the cash you didn't spend on a bigger house left in your bank account untaxed
The yanks had it figured out long ago. what happened?
Juan Collins
Charleston? I don't know anywhere else that has an ultra-high quality of living in SC
Eli Morales
>by living in a smaller home than what you can afford
That's called "being sensible" and it's not very fashionable these days. The fashionable thing to do is to spend yourself into oblivion and blame everyone else for your problems
