"Electrocute" is a meme exaggeration too, it's just a mild shock that's enough to hurt a bit used as aversion therapy. As for whether it works in humans who knows, it does in lower animals and the companies that run these things claim it does, but there's evidence to the contrary. IMO it looks like it only helps in people that genuinely want to stop being gay, which probably means they're not especially big fags to begin with.

You're right, I don't doubt all three of them can be useful in some cases (I'd imagine they'd be rare though.) Even leeches can be useful if someone has too much iron (though obviously just donating blood would be infinitely safer.)
