2. The claim made in the report is that Russia is holding tape of this occurence to blackmail Trump. Russia just came out and denied that such a tape exists, or that they've built secret dossiers for the purpose of blackmailing foreign leaders. That pretty much shoots down any possibility of the blackmail angle coming to fruition.

If the FBI had real, damning evidence that Trump was being co-opted by foreign powers, they would have released that shit as soon as they could, or otherwise taken action to remove him from the race. But guess what? They have no evidence. They don't buy this shit for a second. They just wanted to release a fake scandal the day before Trump's press conference in order to shit all over it. Remember, the FBI is in the doghouse with the current administration since the last guy in charge talked shit about Hillary six days before the election.
But let's just pretend that the FBI really does believe that the Russians have a secret videotape of Donald Trump watching two hookers piss on a bed, and that it's being used to blackmail him, and that they just can't legally do anything about it. In that case, all they've done is tell us about the piss tape. You know, the thing the Russians are using to get leverage with Trump. By threatening that they're going to tell everyone about it. But now we all know about it. So...how could they possibly be continuing to blackmail him? I'm not an expert on Russian intelligence surveillance, but I bet that the actual footage of this probably isn't in 1080p HD with hyper close-ups of Donald Trump's face. If it got released, people would call it a fake. It's the kind of thing that's more damaging by virtue of its existence than by actually watching it.
