To be fair, I usually post in that board more than this one, simply cause it's fun to argue with them. Over here, the most disagreements I have are over civic nationalism vs. racial nationalism and whether the jews are planning a conspiracy.

So are the people of a fascist nation supposed to be loyal to the leader first and nation second? Or nation first and leader second? If it's the latter, then that would mean the military and civilian population would be justified in throwing a coup if the ruler started acting against the good of the nation, yes? It honestly sounds like something a Founding Father would say too, just with less "Freedom!" and more "Greatness!".
But still, I think Hitler made some serious strategic mistakes during the war. Arguably if he had been assassinated early, like say shortly after taking France or Poland, then Germany might have been able to hold on to what they had, and possibly beat the Soviets back.

The treaty was in absolutely no way punitive although it was designed with the intention of sounding punitive in order to pacify the populations of the allied nations who wanted Germany destroyed or at least reduced to a collection of petty nations. In the end Germany was only hit for 132 billion gold marks which represented about 1/20 of the damage inflicted on the civilian infrastructure but was only required to pay 52 billion gold marks, the rest was allowed to be rolled over indefinitely. What little the Germans did pay barely covered the cost of the food they were given in the post war years.
Not that it mattered because Hitler just refused to make payments (Like a Fucking Jew) and eventually reoccupied the Rhineland.
Starting in 1934 German began to issue MEFO bills. They were similar to a 6 month bond but they were off the official register and could be rolled over indefinitely. We don’t even know how many were issued as they were specifically designed to obfuscate German spending but its been estimated that they were eventually issued at up to 300% of the total GNP per year. And those were on top of normal taxes and bonds.

One further point to note is that most of the payments to occupied countries for goods and services supplied to Germany were in the form of IOUs- the central banks of the occupied countries had to accept the German promise to pay at some time in the future, and pay the countries firms and citizens in freshly printed local currency. With the transaction from Reichmarks to the local currency being at a rate highly advantageous to Germany.
All being well this means that the local currency is not too badly affected, as the sum's cancel out, but Germany defaulted on the payments at the end of the war leaving the issued local currency vastly inflated - In effect, Germany stole everything they “purchased” from occupied countries during the war.
