Trump's idea for healthcare is that it should be a competitive market that reaches across state lines. Currently, health insurance companies can hold basic monopolies in certain districts because there's nobody around to compete. This causes healthcare in those districts to become stagnant and costly.

Healthcare being subsidized by the government creates a set cost that these monopolies can charge, which is usually extremely high; kind of like how Universities charge $80,000 for a bachelors degree because they're also subsidized by the government; the subsidies create a "standard" that the government will pay, regardless of whether or not the consumer does. So, either way, the hospitals get paid, so they can charge $3,000 for an ace bandage. This makes the costs for people not on government subsidized insurance stupidly fucking high.

For example, I'm on ACCCS, my state's "nigger" insurance which is FREE. It's only supposed to be for poor people but I finagled the system. This insurance pays for god damn near everything;

any medication I need: free
emergency room: free
doctors visit: free

Major surgery is the only thing not covered, and that's what insurance companies sell under obama care for stupidly high premiums. If I wanted the basic """bronze""" package it would cost me $860/month for JUST MYSELF in premiums.

the preexisting conditions clause in the ACA was one of the worst parts of it too, they HAVE to take on 600 pound fat cunts and that raises premiums for everybody. in a sane world insurance companies would just drop cunts like that and everyone would enjoy lower premiums, hell just ask anyone from the age of 16 to 24 how they feel about car insurance knowing that a small subset of their age group is fucking shit up for the rest of them, the effect is pronounced here in australia where you have to have third party insurance at least.
